Unusual Error Message When Viewing Videos In IE9

Sep 5, 2012

Windows 7 64 bit with Adobe Shockwave and Flash Player installed.

On my laptop (not the desktop described in my profile) I get the following message when viewing any one of the videos using IE9(32 bit) on this website: ABCNews.com - Breaking News, Latest News & Top Video News - ABC News.

Error Saving Localized Settings Application is unable to access your file system

The videos play fine once I clear the message box by pressing OK. The problem does not occur on my desktop and I notice no difference in the two setups. Nor does it occur under Firefox on either machine.

Sound Distortion On Scrolling While Viewing Online Videos

May 20, 2011

i am having an issue that just appeared. when viewing you tube videos or i tunes, i get a bit of static, if i scroll at all i get major distortion. this is present for all videos i attempt to watch. i have updated itunes, as well as the latest flash version, including checking the "enable hardware acceleration" option off and on to no avail.

i have updated my sound card drivers, uninstalled and reverted to a previous version of flash, and updated my video card drivers step by step, but this did not fix the issue. initially i was getting distortion while viewing Internet and random system lock ups that required a reboot. since trying the above, i am not getting lock ups any longer, but the scrolling distortion is present. it may be my imagination, but the system seems very sluggish as well.

Why Is Browser Not Loading Videos, Pictures And Pages Anymore

Oct 2, 2011

I have a strange problem. My internet usage is way below over, so I have a fine internet connection, yet when I try to watch videos on the internet, they will stop playing a couple seconds into the video and act as if that was the end of the video. if I try to make the video load, then it will just load forever and NEVER work. I also have issues when viewing images, some images are half loaded and look very strange (google images for example). Also, alot of th web pages I load up go straight to the page saying an error has occured. I have had windows seven for a few months and have no viruses (that I know of).

BSOD While Viewing Photos With Windows Live Photo Gallery (Error 0x0000001e)

Mar 21, 2012

I have had a problem with my Gateway NV73 laptop where I would get a BSOD whenever I was viewing video on the internet, viewing pictures in my photo editing program and now after about 5 minutes of just using the internet. The BSOD would come up in a square in the center of the screen and dissappear within seconds. Then the system would still show the power light as on but a blank screen and unresponsive. I would press and hold power button until shutdown and try to restart but only the fan sound was working but nothing else. And after about 30 to 40 minutes later it would boot up just fine, but would then crash after minutes of using it. I tried to get the info needed from the dump files but I literally had to do the whole process stated above many times and I saved the minidump files to my network drive so I could post this on my desktop computer.

Gateway Laptop Model NV73
AMD processor
3GB Ram
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit OEM
Laptop is about 17 months old

I attached a text file with the contents of one of the minidump files.

Browser Crashes Lead To BSOD?

Feb 18, 2011

i've had this problem of google chrome at times crashing. once it does it that first time, it will continually crash if i try to open it about 3-4 times and then bsod my computer. it only happened once i think in january, and then went about 2-3 weeks without issue. recently, though, it started happening again. after the first crash of chrome nowadays, i get this weird 'right-click menu ghost,' where the first item i select after a right click will stay on my screen above any other window (but it will not do this if chrome hasn't crashed). i tried going around the issue and just use firefox instead, but firefox seems to be giving me weird flash-related crashes (i think). i'm not sure what is causing the chrome crashes, though. the same pages that crash firefox once will crash it again, but not always the case with chrome, so. firefox crashes also won't bsod my computer from what i notice.

i've run the memory diagnostic that windows 7 has and it doesn't seem to be a memory problem. i've done whatever spyware/malware/virus scans i know of (which, admittedly, isn't much) and it doesn't seem to come up with anything either. i'm at my limit of things i can try by myself...

edit: not sure if this has been the pattern the whole time, but the past two initial chrome crashes had an antecedent something like this:tab 1 contains a Internet video playing, and is the inactive tab. tab 2 contains an embedded (not sure if this part is relevant, but may as well add it) Internet video. i click on it to get it to start playing, and while it's loading, immediately switch back to tab 1 and pause my other video. chrome freezes and crashes, and from thereon will crash if you try to restore the tabs. if you start a new session, it will crash in a few minutes even without any Internet videos.

BSoD On Playing Videos And Gaming?

Aug 16, 2012

just recently bought a new computer and encountered some problems on video playback and on games. on videos the video plays normally until some time the videos becomes jittery with green and pink lines, if i leave it that way it usually results into a "display driver has stopped responding...." or it goes bsod. this also happens on Internet and other video streaming sites. on games it's pretty much the same but it crashes and goes bsod or display driver has blah blah.... i pretty much updated all the drivers needed mobo, video card and win7 updates and it still haunts me, but then again i can still play videos and do gaming

Constant BSOD - When Opening Any Internet Browser

Aug 10, 2012

I Just bought a new computer, had windows 7 ultimate 64 bit installed and some ususall programs, but I am getting bsod whenever I open any internet browser, such as internet explorer, chrome, or mozila. Then I tried to run it in safe mode with networking - still crashing, but in safe mode works perfectl. I'm thinking that the problem is some old wireless driver. This is the error msg I got:

Read our privacy statement online: Windows 7 Privacy Statement - Microsoft Windows
If the online privacy statement is not available, please read our privacy statement offline: C:Windowssystem32en-USerofflps.txt

Also, when I see the blue screen, I read that the driver "anodlwfx.sys" (System security filter, or something like that) is causing the problem for every bsod, I removed the file from windows folder, and computer worked perfectly, but I coudn't go to the internet, the used system restore, to restore that missing file.

BSOD While Browsing, Watching Videos Or Gaming

Oct 13, 2012

Ran the W7F diagnostic tool as admin and it wouldn't create anything on my desktop so have attached dump files/cpu-z/RAMMON

Has always BSOD occasionally but has become much more frequent, every 15mins when playing X-COM. Appears to be mostly 101 clock error. The processor was pre-overclocked by the supplier, the overclocking profile only kicks in when cpu is under load. I never changed voltages or anything else in bios.

Ran prime 95 for 3 hrs last night before it crashed but the error was different to what it normally is - that's the oldest dump file in attached.

BSOD While Browsing, Watching Videos, And On Startup

I've been getting them recently and I noticed its usually while watching a video or playing a game (graphics card problem?). After each bsod I usually get another during startup. Then my laptop runs startup repair and everything is fine for a few hours. I ran the driver verifier and it crashed almost as soon as i loaded a video but didn't create a dmp file for some reason.

Multiple BSOD Of Various Errors With Internet/videos/music?

Mar 29, 2012

recently, i have had many bsod consecutively. recently, i have had about 9 bsod over about 5 days (although the report lists a break between my bsod between 2/21 and 3/27 because i was on break for most of this). in the past i have gotten bsod while playing games, but the recent ones have been while doing mundane tasks such as browsing the internet or watching Internet videos?i have used bluescreenview to try to discover the cause of my problem, but every bsod seems to have a different error and file associated with it. many of them are blamed on ntoskrnl.exe, but have different error messages. some are from different files.i am running windows 7 64 bit on a desktop i built about 15 months ago. since then, i have gotten many error messages, but more recently. i have 8 gb of ram, geforce gtx 470, amb phenom ii black multicore processor, and gigabyte 890gpa-ud3h motherboard. i assembled the desktop components and installed all software new onto the computer.

things i have tried recently: resetting the ram in different slots, running antivirus (i have avg free, malwarebytes, and spybot), cleaning the computer fans, uninstalling/driversweeping the video card drivers and reinstalling, disabling the motherboard sound card through bios so the external sound card i have installed does not interfere, running cmd /chkdsk with fix to try to correct any errors found. i have been dealing with bsod a lot frequently, although it has usually only been about 1 per week in the past. these are extremely frequent recently with multiple per day and it is interfering with my work. attached are the files requested.
