Having recent problems with my windows 7 OS. I'm getting BSOD on startups. This started recently and occurs during idle or viewing videos. I've tried WhoCrashed and found out it might be my nvidia drivers for my mobo, but I've updated them and still crashes. I'm running windows 7 32bit.

2 ACER X223W monitors Having an issue where I will get a BSOD while watching videos. Have tried onboard video and 2 different vid cards and it happens every time. The onboard video was designed to support dual monitors as well as the video cards.
Current video card installed - evga GeForce 210
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I installed it myself but the case windows came in says OEM. 2 months old computer.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI got a BSOD about 5 months ago and I replaced one of my memory sticks and everything was fine until now. I've been getting them recently and I noticed its usually while watching a video or playing a game (graphics card problem?). After each bsod I usually get another during startup. Then my laptop runs startup repair and everything is fine for a few hours. I ran the driver verifier and it crashed almost as soon as i loaded a video but didn't create a dmp file for some reason.

On my laptop (not the desktop described in my profile) I get the following message when viewing any one of the videos using IE9(32 bit) on this website: ABCNews.com - Breaking News, Latest News & Top Video News - ABC News.

The videos play fine once I clear the message box by pressing OK. The problem does not occur on my desktop and I notice no difference in the two setups. Nor does it occur under Firefox on either machine.
i am having an issue that just appeared. when viewing you tube videos or i tunes, i get a bit of static, if i scroll at all i get major distortion. this is present for all videos i attempt to watch. i have updated itunes, as well as the latest flash version, including checking the "enable hardware acceleration" option off and on to no avail.
i have updated my sound card drivers, uninstalled and reverted to a previous version of flash, and updated my video card drivers step by step, but this did not fix the issue. initially i was getting distortion while viewing Internet and random system lock ups that required a reboot. since trying the above, i am not getting lock ups any longer, but the scrolling distortion is present. it may be my imagination, but the system seems very sluggish as well.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit with 6 GB of Ram and SSD. After restarting the comp, the memory use is around 23% (of 6 GB). After working on it for a while, running browsers, spreadsheets, playing a game the memory use just pretty high (with just a few browsers open and Football Manager around 80%).
However, the problem begins when I close all the programs, essentially going to fresh, post restart state. In this idle state, the memory use if just over 60%. This obviously seems wrong. This is over 60% use of physical memory. What is the issue here, memory leak or something else. Occasionally, when I have a bunch of things opened, the computer will hang because the memory use is at the peak.

It goes back to where I sign in to Windows again. Then I have to enter my password again,to get back in to Windows again. There must be a setting for this, but I can't find it.

As far as I can remember the first time I had a BSOD was on the day I installed Max Payne 3 (I read somewhere that the some guy had also this problem when he installed max payne). There were two occasions that I got a BSOD upon starting Max Payne 3. But lately I'm getting BSOD when doing low-load stuffs like browsing with no other apps opened. I've already done memtest with 10 passes with no errors. I'm 24 hours prime95 stable. I just don't get it! I've manually set my timings for my ram. I'm not doing any overclock. Everything is on stock settings.

But now its been doing it so often that I need It seems to always crash if its been sitting in sleep mode for several hours. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had a problem with my Gateway NV73 laptop where I would get a BSOD whenever I was viewing video on the internet, viewing pictures in my photo editing program and now after about 5 minutes of just using the internet. The BSOD would come up in a square in the center of the screen and dissappear within seconds. Then the system would still show the power light as on but a blank screen and unresponsive. I would press and hold power button until shutdown and try to restart but only the fan sound was working but nothing else. And after about 30 to 40 minutes later it would boot up just fine, but would then crash after minutes of using it. I tried to get the info needed from the dump files but I literally had to do the whole process stated above many times and I saved the minidump files to my network drive so I could post this on my desktop computer.

I suspect it's a driver conflict involving my M-Audio Fast Track Ultra (music recording interface), which is connected via USB.My computer is an HP 671-340US notebook, bought in June or July 2010, with Windows 7 Home Premium (and a whole bunch of HP bloatware!) already installed. I have eliminated some of the HP crap because it constantly interrupted my work, and shut down my computer right in the middle of what I was doing, if I missed the message balloon. View 9 Replies View RelatedMy very recently purchased laptop was showing some problems from last 2 days. It would get stuck at the shutdown screen and then after extended span of time I had to press and hold power key to turn it off. It happened only twice. I had updated atleast one or the other thing before shutting it down...either through HP Support Assistant or Windows update.
Last night i ran Windows Update and tried to turn off my pc but since updates were being installed it said Windows will shut down once the updates are installed automatically...so i went to sleep only to find in the morning a BSOD. It was stuck on it again i had to turn off my pc by holding power button and then windows refused to boot beyond the Windows 7 logo black screen. But after a couple of retries it started.

Usually I'm able to sort my own computer problems (with the help of good ol' Google). However I've been stuck with this for some time now. BSOD, Driver_power_state_failure. I can't really pin point a particular time this happens I'm afraid. I built this PC myself (my first one) about 7-8 months ago(?) and haven't really had any problems.
So far, I've reinstalled windows and updated all my drivers as recommended from many Google searches but I am still getting the same BSOD and frankly if I can't find the answer via Google I'm pretty much buggered . After reading the posting instructions I've used the diagnostic tool, so I'll attach the zip.
I recently installed some Windows updates on my new computer, and after the first boot with the updates my computer froze and I got a BSOD saying "Drive Power State Failure"

View 2 Replies View RelatedTo open with I did search the forums and find some similar posts, however there was no apparent solution other than disabling sleep mode or rolling back drivers neither of which are solutions acceptable to my company.I've recently started having a BSOD appear on my work laptop (HP Pavilion dm4), it seems to be when the laptop is shutting down to 'sleep' mode, at around the same time these bluescreens started up there also started to be connectivity issues with the wireless on board, it will connect for a variable amount of time, then simply drop the connection, usually for at least 20 minutes before reconnecting to the wifi, if I attempt to disable/re-enable the wireless card it seems to lock up in the midst of that process effectively forcing a restart. There have been no new drivers installed on this machine (all the drivers on the hp website are dated before the apparent manufacture date) and disabling sleep mode is unfortunately out of the question.
I can provide the minidump if that would be helpful, at this time I'm just looking for a direction to look in, as other than the apparent correlation between the blue screens and wireless issues I don't have many clues.
I just bought all my parts, and I can't seem to get the computer stable. It is constantly BSOD or freezing and crashing during games. I've attached the SF diagnostic report for one of the dumps i guess.

HP Pavilion DM1 notebook with Windows 7 OS 64 bit version has been experiencing BSOD many times for the past few weeks. Normally, the BSOD occurs when there is a sudden interruption in the Internet connection (Internet connection is through a USB modem as a dial-up connection). In such a case, the system refuses to acknowledge the presence of the USB in the port. After approx. 10 minutes the BSOD occurs. Else, if the Shut Down command is given, the Shutting Down screen appears, it remains for around 10 minutes and BSOD occurs eventually. The screen that appears is as follows:

Having BSOD, which seems to happen when browsing using Chrome. Also, when Windows restarts, seems to take forever (15min) to get past something before finally coming back.

I am getting a BSOD sometimes when I shut down my computer. My computer has to be on and idle for a while (close to 4 hours) for this to happen. I never put my computer to sleep or hibernate. Can anyone do a minidump check to see what is going on? I tried to do this myself but there is issues with the symbols. (Which one should I use for x64 Windows 7).
View 6 Replies View RelatedThis has been with me for a long time (can't remember how long) must have been about 2 years now. Just decided to try to solve it. When I'm using the computer, everything is fine. My video card is pretty old. When playing some games, sometimes the game crashes (and I get a notification about how my graphics sucks), but no BSOD. I haven't really exhaustively tested, but I think I've used it for 10 hours straight without any problems. The problem comes when I leave it alone (10-30 minutes.. I haven't seen it alive beyond 30 minutes of idle), even if its downloading something or running an antivirus scan. I have been able to run a full scan at startup (before windows loads), which took about an hour, with no problems. I used windows update to install all the latest updates (from windows). I have hibernate disabled and no screensavers, no standby after x minutes/hours. I do sometimes put it to sleep from time to time and there are usually no problems.
