I setup a second User account for a friend so an office associate can sign in to access a spreadsheet on his PC. From the Admin's account I shared to the new account with Read/Write privileges. I didn't see any higher sharing permissions but really didn't poke around much.So I get a call from him today that associate is able to edit the spreadsheet but not save it to her account, gets an error. I'm waiting for the text of the error to Google.

I have numbers e. g. 1 to 100 in excel in a particular column. If I remove any number e. g. 13 & keep that cell blank. Further cells should get automatically numbered from 13 onwards.

I have an Excel spreadsheet that tracks document reviews. One form of evidence that a document has been reviewed is an e-mail from the reviewer (eg, "I've reviewed it and told John to make corrections as per the attached").
Aside from printing the mail to a pdf and saving it somewhere (which could involve printing each mail and attachment separately, then linking them together somehow), is there any way the mail itself can be saved in such a manner as clicking the link will open up the mail and all its attachments?

I was recently upgraded to Windows 7 and Office 2010. Under my old version of Windows XP & Office XP/07, when I received an emailed spreadsheet & made adjustments to it, I was able to save it directly over the old emailed file. Now when I make any changes I am asked to save a copy of the file & to save it elsewhere on my computer & cannot save it directly over the original emailed spreadsheet. how to get this old feature back? I'm sure it's just a matter of ticking some option off.

I'm trying to create a student's grade report for my teacher using MS Excel. Here's the draft of the report:
1. how can I set the Grade automatically once I insert the score?i.e, once I insert 90marks, the grade there will automatically appear grade A.
2. How can I set the GPA score automatically after the insertion of the Grade according to the grade table below?
3.Since there are about 20 students and the sheet need to print out, how can I save all the 20 students grade and print them out? creating a new sheet for a new student?
there's my problem I faced since I seldom use MS Excel. The format should be like this .

Is there any way to Auto save passwords for sites in IE without having to click the remember button? Like, is there a way to configure my IE to just autommatically save user/pass info for every site that I log into? I have yet been able to figure this out, and I have accounts for tons of sites and never remember to click the "remember" button and constantly have to reset my pass, which makes it even harder. If there was a way to auto save, so when I go to a site, I can look it up in a password protected folder.

I'm using windows 7 home premium. I have an application in ASP.Net which uses Excel Application Object. It used to work fine in XP but in Windows 7 I'm getting an error as mentioned below: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {00024500-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 80070005.
I need to give permissions to Microsoft Excel Application in DCOM config but I can't seem to find this in windows 7. It used to be there in earlier versions but now its not there. I tried to reinstall Office 2007 but still I couldn't find it in DCOM config. where I can give permissions to MS Excel Application so that my application runs without errors.

I bought a Asus U36J laptop back in April of last year and ever since then I have been beating around an issue that I dont seem to be able to resolve one way or the other. When ever the laptop is on battery and in battery saving mode it has my taskbar on autohide. If I turn that off, then it stays off right until it is put back into battery saving mode at which point it is "magically" ticked on again.
Is there no way to simply disable that feature, as its annoying me greatly. I know its tied into the battery saving desktop, and I want to keep the battery saving desktop but want a full taskbar all the time. I found a supposed fix to make that happen, and while it actually makes the taskbar appear all the time, it still is a bad hack as any windows I have open wont "attach" to the taskbar but attaches to the buttom of the screen.
So for the love of god is there no sane way for me to keep the battery saving desktop but get rid of the autohiding taskbar. Otherwise I know Asus most likely wont be my laptop of choice next time aroumd.

I changed via the dialog the TEXT SIZE via the screen resolution in the control panel to CUSTOM SIZE.With one of the newer "Cinema" or Very Wide screen (1680 X 900) displays after I'd increased the text size to over 160 % I didn't get the possibility to SAVE any documents any more via the SAVE AS button. The SAVE dialog would appear but the SAVE button was missing. The effect was noticed in Office 2007 (all programs) Notepad etc etc.Seems to be a Windows fault as this should not be allowed to happen.on more traditional "Squarer" type monitors -- no problem.

Is there any way to set the default save location folder for downloads in IE8 to the last folder that the same file type was saved in? It makes no sense to default to a single folder and have to browse through to the desired folder for every single download, so I assume there has to be an option somewhere.

In Vista, the Personal.xlsb is stored at C:Usersuser nameAppDataLocalMicrosoftExcelXLSTART. I have imported the macros into visual basic but I can only save them into that particular workbook and when I reopen Excel, the macros are not avaliable.

to enable macros in Excel I have to go to Developer then enable macro. Err message ordering me to exit the file, then re-enter it and repeat the "enabling" procedure. This does not always remedy the problem. I have to restart the computer... then go back to my Excel worksheet.
However, now even this doesn't work! Result: I am unable to use my macros.

I love the new taskbar and the "right click" on a pinned programme to access recent files & pinned files. However, while this feature works perfectly for Word, when I try to open an excel file from the taskbar, or even as an attachment to a received e-mail, I get the message " there was a problem sending the command to the program". The excel program itself opens if it is not already open, but the selected file doesn't. I can only open the file by going through "office button/open". If it is an e-mail attachment, I can only open it by saving it to one of my folders, and opening it via "office button/open". Additionally, once I attempt to open an excel file from the taskbar, the excel symbol on the taskbar displays a yellow/brown border instead of the normal border.
