to enable macros in Excel I have to go to Developer then enable macro. Err message ordering me to exit the file, then re-enter it and repeat the "enabling" procedure. This does not always remedy the problem. I have to restart the computer... then go back to my Excel worksheet.
However, now even this doesn't work! Result: I am unable to use my macros.
I've got a series of Excel 2003 spreadsheets with macros. They run just fine on a Windows XP machine. However, we recently moved them to a Windows 7 Pro machine. We still run them in Excel 2003, only now on a Windows 7 system. Problem is, they don't run right. No errors, but the one that is giving me grief needs to read from a csv text file. I don't thinki it is opening and/or reading the input fule. I don't understand why. Like I said, everything runs OK on WinXPSP3. I think I have all of the permissions set correctly. UAC is turned off and Elevated priveleges is turned off as well.
Cant get shortcuts to call up certain macros. All macros can be executed from Menu>Developer>Macros. Shortcuts for simple insert commands such as date & time are okay!! Shortcuts for simple VBA-defined macros do not work!!. Is there an option that needs to be set?
Using Win 7 Home premium and Word 2003. Record new macros, but they're not available if I close and re-open Word. Have renamed normal.dot to oldnormal.dot but don't see a new normal template. Have Acrobat 9.0 but found past problems only with Acrobat 7Everything worked fine using Word 2003 with Vista so wonder if Win 7 is the proble
I have just started to use Windows 7 RC1 and it has to be one of the best releases since WS2000 & WS2003.The Sheer performance, sleek finish and the GUI is great for even beginners. Problem I have so far is that WSRMacros will not launch. I have successfully downloaded the msi from MS installed and rebooted, but when executing the application it does nothing.
i was having problems with files giving me an in use error when trying to rename, move or delete files......especially mkvs.....i found an online tutorial using a windows configuration file to disable thumbnailing.....now i have a bunch of photos i need to go through and i can't even open them in the previewer...I can't remember how i got to that file to change it or how to even word the error so i can recreate the search....its nothing simple like disabling it in visual settings.
I am unable to enable the bluetooth power. I have tried switching the wireless witch on and off. I have disable and enable the bluetooth function. I have installed the latest driver. I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A300.
I have been using an Acer Aspire 7551G windows 7, and when purchased the Wifi was already enabled and has always picked up available networks. However I think I may have accidently disabled it, pressing the F3 key does not do anything so it is not lighted up or showing any available networks.
How do I enable the extended desktop in Windows 7 Professional? I have a AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series graphics card, which supports up to three monitors. I have three monitors connected, but only one is working.
Recently ie9 just hangs up everytime i run a new window and creating a tab/clicking the tools icon but wont hang the 2nd time(if i dont close ie9 completely. This happens when i install the april update. I bought a wireless adapter (linksys) and am running win7 64 ultimate and the adapter isnt being able to enable. Ive spent about 2 hours on the phone with linksys who say its generally a problem only when theres an antivirus attached to the computer. I dont have any antivirus on this computer at the moment. Is there something in Windows 7 that might be holding it from installing correctly/enabling?
I am running Windows 7 Professional that came installed on the Aspire 3830T TimelineX. I see the network adapter in the device manager. I checked to make sure that the driver is up to date, and it is. But, when I try to enable the driver, the system crashes...Blue Screen and system dump, then comes up and asks how I want to restart the computer.
I have the Administrator account's password, but in order to conceal it in the Start up screen. I disabled it. tell me that there is a way to type in the Administrator's password inorder to start the elevated command prompt? Why can't I type in the Administrator's password? Is it because I disabled it? Why is there only one way to enable/disable the Administrator account in HOME PREMIUM? I can't even try to restore the system to the earlier point because I have logged in with a standard account, and have no way to type in the admin's password. I should have known that a cheap version of Windows 7 would bite me in the axx one day.
I have an unsupported graphics card, and would like to force enable the aero theme, so i can se the aeropeek (taskbar preview), animations, and the transparency and blur effects (glass), but have so far been unsuccessful - does anyone know how i can do this?

I would like to enable Crossfire in Catalyst Control Panel, but it do not work on drivers newer than Catalyst 10.11.I got BSOD on atimkdag.sys. How to fix it ?Tried Driver Sweeper but no luck, even installing fresh system didn't worked.
I got locked out and followed the directions to enable to default administrator,,When I went to change passwords I did not change the magnify.exe back to the cmd.exe. Now I can't I have to be a trusted installer. There are also three of them. One is in the x86 folder, one int he Sys/WOW64, and another in amd64_microsoft-widows-magnify, this one and the first I mentioned have the same log group of numbers and lettrs following it.
It's making things even more difficult to do cause I can't open a comand prompt at all without rebooting. Is there anyone out there who can tell me how to identify which is the correct magnify.exe to change back to cmd.exe. I do have one that is oldmagnify.ext. Should it be that one.
And then one more problem. Now I am not the adminstrator so I need a "trusted installer" to make the change. My default administrator can't do it either because I created a profile for my network to use the same one on my Vista to share files in case I'm ever locked out again. I think by doing that the system automatically took full level admin rights away from my default admin!
I keep having problems enabling the administrator account on my windows 7 computer.. i tried command prompt but it wont work... whats a good way to enable it??
I accidentally disabled my onboard display adapter and after rebooting, the screen goes black but windows continues to load in the background. Can someone kinldy post a step by step guide for re enabling the adapter for windows 7 ultimate using a Keyboard
I just bought a refurb Dell XPS 420 w/ Q9300, running Vista Home Premium x64 and downloaded/installed an activated version of Win 7 Ult x64 on an 80GB SSD [Sata1] I bought for it; dual booted w/ Vista x64 on old hard drive [Sata0].
Windows 7 x64 was running stable and instantly fast, I wanted to enable RAID0 on the old hard drive [Sata0] and another new hard drive [Sata2]
I entered Intel Maxtrix Storage Manager (Ctrl-I), creating a RAID0 volume on [Sata0] and [Sata2].
After reboot, it says "No boot device available" after BOIS screen.
My subsequent boot attempts include (roughly in order):
1. disable RAID0 volume, boot to [Sata1]
2. disable [Sata0] and [Sata2], boot to [Sata1]
3. disable [Sata1], boot to CD/DVD-drive (Windows 7 install/boot)
4. disable CD/DVD-drive, boot to USB flash (Windows 7 install/boot)
I have done some digging around and cannot seem to find a solution. I have the use of my notebook (w/ broken DVD burner, still reads) running Windows 7 Ult x86 so apparently I cannot make my USB flash drive x64 bootable from what I've read. I also have 2-USB hard drives (80/250GB) and an eSata 2x docking station available, but no eSata on notebook.
Hope I gave enough info for someone to come up with an easy fix. If I could boot to the Windows 7 x64 install DVD that I made with the non-booting PC, I would have just done a clean install by now, but it refuses to boot to the CD/DVD drive. It actually wouldn't even boot to DVD to install Windows 7 x64 in the first place, I had to install from Vista. Also I do not have a Vista x64 install disk either.
re-enable a sound input in myconfiguration (I think it was a Digital input). I have recently re-installed Windows 7 following a change of mobo (to a Gigabyte GA-EP41-UD3L). However, whilst setting up my sound system I disabled a sound input in my profile in the belief it would be easy enough to re-enable it if needed. In the event, I just cannot work out how to re-enable it. It seems to be easy enough in XP but in Windows 7 I just cannot work it out. Now I find myself unable to record audio from videos I play on my PC - I can ONLY record/monitor audio from sound files; I've no problem in XP (I have a Windows 7/XP dualboot setup). I've tried creating a different user account but all to no avail - it doesn't change anything at all.So! I hope someone may be able to give me some guidance on how to re-enable my sound input- PLEASE! My only other alternative is to reinstall yet again - something I don't look forward to!
Just wondering if anyone can give me any advice on how to get my wireless 1397 WLAN mini-card to enable on my network connections screen? About a month ago I pressed the f2 and fn key together to turn off my wireless and it seems to have done something as when u try to turn it on the same way it doesn't do anything? Also when I highlight the wireless network connection mini card in the network connections screen it says it disabled, I click enable this network device and the screen pops up to say its enabled yet when that screen disappears the connection is still greyed out and says disabled. When I ask Ask my computer to diagnose the problem It says there may be a problem with the drivers. I've uninstalled the drivers and downloaded them from the dell website and installed them Again , still not working !! I'm confused as everyone keeps saying on this forum to just press f2 and fn but it's not working
