Jun 13, 2011I recently purchased an ASUS G53SW-XN1 with Windows 7 64-bit OS from newegg and found out that the built-in webcam doesn't work. Upon further investigation I also found that there is no "Imaging device" listed in "Device Manager" yet the physical device is obviously there. I went to the ASUS support site to attain the driver for the webcam only to find that, for this model, there is no driver listed. I called ASUS about this and their tech was as surprised as I was over the lack of a driver for this model. He directed me to try the driver for similar models (G53JW, G73JH, and G73SW) but none of their drivers would work, and the G73SW model, as with my model (G53SW), didn't have a driver listed either.

Sep 5, 2012UPDATE: After some searching I found that the camera is controlled by a Realtek 5828T camera controller. Can anyone help me find a driver for this? The Realtek site doesn't have it listed.Unfortuneatly the webcam on my ASUS UX32VD stopped working a couple of days ago. I called ASUS support and they said they had no idea where to download the drivers from and couldn't provide me with any other solution than reimaging from the hidden partition. Oct 18, 2011I have an Asus K53U i want to reformat. The thing is i bought this computer last month and had problem with the sound so i returned it and they gave me a same computer i could borrowed until they fixed my computer. Yesterday i reformated the borrowed computer, i pressed F9 when i started the computer and reformated the computer without CD... First something called "ImageX tools" showed up (i guess that is the reformat thing) so i let it proceed, and when it was done all the drivers dissapeared, except for the sound. Internet, Graphic card, Power4gear hybrid (battery thing), ELAN Pointing Device, etc... all gone. I tought when i format my computer, it will be the same as i used it for the first time.Oh and the mouse cursor moves around sometimes by itself after i reformated the computer.Is there another way to format it without the CD?, that is used to be when i first time used it, all the drivers etc. Because i want to keep all the drivers.

Sometimes it works and I can see my two hd, other times I have to reboot, go into bios (make no changes), exit and it works again.I just purchased an OCZ 120G Vertex 3 SSDto use as a boot drive and can't get it to work on the sata 3 ports. I've read that the Marvell 9128 controller isn't the best but I would think It should at least recognize the drives.

Nov 6, 2012I recently build a Frankenstein desktop, or at least that's what I'm calling. I started out replacing the motherboard in a HP Pavillion p6130y desktop.
After some research I found that the stock motherboard as pretty outdated so I decided to go aftermarket. I wanted to replace as little as possible but now the only original parts are the dvd drive and network card. The network card has to screws on the back to attach an antenna and is a PCI1x card.
Current Problem: I now have a problem where after installing the card and Windows 7 Professional , I can see the list of available wireless networks including my own.
But, I cannot connect to any of them even though my own network has full signal strength.
Suddenly Wireless Connection Not Working On Asus PC Running Windows 7
May 31, 2012I have Asus eee PC since 2010 with Win 7 and never had any problem. I was working on my laptop without any problem. But for last couple of hours I am not able to connect to my wireless network. It doesn't show any network. It only shows the message "Not connected. No connections available". I have internet service through out the house. Wireless is also working on my IPod, IPad and IPhone. I have desktop connected with network wire and internet is working just fine. When I connect my EEE with network cable, everything is working as expected. Only wireless is not working.
I already tried the following:
1. Restarted my eee pc
2. Restarted wireless router (doing this before, would remove any problem but not this time)
3. Tried clicking Fn + F2 buttons
Also, few minutes back my machine was updated with automatic update of Win 7 SP1. Nothing is working.. I don't know what happened. It is so frustrating to see things stop working without any valid reason.

Jan 8, 2012i have a system which i got 1 month ago and it was stable and good till recently i started getting BSOD at random times , i tried to update my bios as most were saying but i couldnt because whenever i click on bios update utilite i get black screen! with no respond (i tried the updating from bios not windows Asus dont offer bios update from inside windows ) however . i noticed i get this bluescreen often when playing shogun 2 but in general i still get BSOD when doing other stuff at random times (ex: other games/work on office package) also sometimes when i play other games i either get BSOD or a sudden system lag where everything stops with a noisy sound coming from my speaker.
btw : in my BSOD i get the famous physical memory dump 100% line at the bottom
and i also updated my graphics drivers and rolled back to the old stable one but with no use
