Auto-log Off Disconnected Sessions?
Jan 11, 2011From all my research this doesn't look possible, but I thought I would ask anyway.Environment:- Windows domain environment - 2 2008 R2 AD servers, 1 2003 AD server, 2003 functional level for now- Mostly XP machines, new medical tablets and all-in-one pcs will have windows 7 32-bitIs there a way to auto log off disconnected client user sessions in windows 7? I know there is a way to log off disconnected sessions in terminal services using an idle timer, but from everything I've read you can't do this on a client. I found Grim's screen saver log off solution here and it works if no one uses the fast user switching ability. My problem is that the medical tablets probably will not sit long enough for the auto log off to kick in. A user will come by pick up a machine that the last user didn't log off (and never will, even if I tell them they will lose their jobs if they don't!) and do a switch user function, leaving a disconnected session. This will probably happen multiple times, leaving many disconnected sessions and a slow device. I would disable fast user switching, but our single sign on software must have fast user switching enabled in order to function properly. So much so that it overrides group policy and registry edits.

Feb 19, 2010I connect to my work computer through a VPN and remote desktop, and often times remote desktop (I use NLA) works once, but after the first disconnect I can't login remotely. Power settings on the computer are set so it never goes asleep and never turns off the display.
In addition, when this happens, I find the computer has a black screen either before or after login when I go into my office to login directly to the computer.
This problem seems to occur on several computers, including on Win 7 Pro x32 and x64.

Sep 21, 2012I started getting these about 6 months ago and they became especially noticeable while playing SWTOR back then. They seem to occur more often when playing an online game but also occur when browsing the web, see one of my screenshots to get an idea of the frequency.I checked the windows help page url... and I have no idea what they're talking about. I tried the simple fix which was disabling IPv6 (no luck). I dunno what a "spanning tree portfast" setting is on my router and I didn't want to go messing around with the registry for their first fix when I have no idea what I'm doing.The error seems kinda vague which I guess explains the multiple fixes, it has listed different URLs too, teredo is just the most recent, I looked that up when it first showed up and it was indeed something to do with IPv6.
