RDP Sessions From Initiating PC
Jun 3, 2011I'm initiating a RDP session from my PC to a server. I know the server event log records an entry but does my PC's event log record an entry too? My PC is running Windows 7.

View 3 RepliesI Reinstalled OS a couple of days ago on my Win 7 64bit laptop, since a lot of files on my HDD were corrputed... Now, after reinstalling most of my programs and data, I go to play CoD2, and it was giving way lower FPS than usual. I couldn't try any other game because I hadn't installed any yet. So, I installed a high FPS config, and it didn't help, so I looked for solutions...I reset all CCC settings to default, and did something with DirectX etc (not sure if this fixed it or if it was just heat, or a program running). Even though the problem was gone, I already had Windows Update downloading, and it finished, so I ran it (game and browser window was still open). I selected ATI Mobility driver in the optional tab just for fun, on top of all the recommended ones, even though I already had the most recent one (from like December last year because it's the latest compatible for my laptop due to switchable graphics etc)...
It started installing, screen reset a few times, and then just went black and stayed there. Audio and everything is still running, but I'm left with just a black screen. Should I wait an hour or so, then force restart? Or what? Tried HDMI to TV, says no signal.TLDR; Left with black screen while Windows Update started installing GPU driver etc, audio still running, scared to restart because I don't want to corrupt... What do?

When I click on the Internet Explorer icon on my desktop to open a session, two internet explorer sessions open. This went on for 2-3 weeks. Now when I do the same thing 3 sessions open. How do I get back to opening just one session.
From all my research this doesn't look possible, but I thought I would ask anyway.Environment:- Windows domain environment - 2 2008 R2 AD servers, 1 2003 AD server, 2003 functional level for now- Mostly XP machines, new medical tablets and all-in-one pcs will have windows 7 32-bitIs there a way to auto log off disconnected client user sessions in windows 7? I know there is a way to log off disconnected sessions in terminal services using an idle timer, but from everything I've read you can't do this on a client. I found Grim's screen saver log off solution here and it works if no one uses the fast user switching ability. My problem is that the medical tablets probably will not sit long enough for the auto log off to kick in. A user will come by pick up a machine that the last user didn't log off (and never will, even if I tell them they will lose their jobs if they don't!) and do a switch user function, leaving a disconnected session. This will probably happen multiple times, leaving many disconnected sessions and a slow device. I would disable fast user switching, but our single sign on software must have fast user switching enabled in order to function properly. So much so that it overrides group policy and registry edits.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI would like to know how can I have two windows sessions active at the same time. I've found some tutorials in google with a installer file, but when I run it as admin although it says the operation was ok, there are some errors, and in the end I always get the common error when trying to connect two sessions at the same time.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI connect to my work computer through a VPN and remote desktop, and often times remote desktop (I use NLA) works once, but after the first disconnect I can't login remotely. Power settings on the computer are set so it never goes asleep and never turns off the display.
In addition, when this happens, I find the computer has a black screen either before or after login when I go into my office to login directly to the computer.
This problem seems to occur on several computers, including on Win 7 Pro x32 and x64.
i have conflict in sessions when remote win 2000 server by win7 PC's - all PC's using the same user name and PW
