I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit on an Acer Aspire 4935G laptop.
HeI am at wits end here trying to figure out how to fix this pc. A friend came to me with the Acer Aspire One D255E with a wireless internet issue. The PC is Running Windows 7 Starter 32-bit. I immediately thought "well there must be a switch that she turned off" There is no switch on the computer for the wireless card. I thought "well there must be a driver issue, Ill go to the device manager and update the driver for it". Then when I got to the device manager... Nothing shows up for a wireless lan card even existing in the laptop, but I know it does, because A) It's a "net Book" B) she was using the internet last week. So, I thought maybe it's not showing up because thee computer needs the drivers for it first, which is unusual, but since its windows 7 starter I thought it needed a kick in the rear to get it goin. So i downloaded all the drivers for the PC using a different computer, and installed the different drivers to see which one would work. Well none of them worked, and now im sitting here scratching my head on what to do next. I have scoured the web and seen a few other people with issues like this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded an Acer Aspire 3690 to Windows 7 (32bit) and everything went well, almost. See, for life of me I can't get audio to work. (That old chestnut.) The speaker icon in the notification area displays the white cross/red circle and informs me that "No Audio Output Device is installed". Fine. Okay. Just a driver problem, right?
Well, Device Manager is showing no discrepancies and the two devices associated with the Aspire's audio chipset (Conexant) are installed and happy (Modems/HDA CX11270 Soft Modem, and System devices/High Definition Audio Controller). But there is no entry for Sound, Video and Game Controllers, and that's what concerns me. Acer's driver support page for the 3690 tells me that Realtek powers the audio, but regardless of the potentially compatible audio drivers I've tried to install (most of the Conexant drivers fail with "Driver installation failed: could not find the MEDIA device for this driver" and the Realtek drivers either have no effect or BSOD the machine) I've had no success.
Now if I was running XP then MUAA would, I'm convinced, resolve the issue, but as far as Windows 7 is concerned I'm at a loss. Best I figured, the Realtek drivers should latch onto the High Definition Audio Controller then provide an Audio Output Device, but nothing's happening. I'm convinced that the physical hardware's fine because the Soft Modem diagnostics provide feedback, and the BIOS has been updated to 3.60.
I have I3 processor and 2 gb ram windows 7 HB 32 bit . many programs give this error like gadgets , ie . any solutions ?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Acer Aspire On 10inch Notebook that runs on Windows 7 Premium Edition (32bit). I'd been having some troubles with its speed for a day or so and since I'd neglected to do a Windows update. So, I restarted it and hoped that once it installed those updates everything would be fine. My first warning sign was the time that it took to turn off - probably 15 minutes was spent with the screen continuously saying "Shutting Down" and I took this to mean that it was probably a series of updates that I had missed. So, I left it to sit and came back to check on it afterwards. When it finally finished, a black screen took over and sat there for quite some time. Eventually I grew frustrated and restarted the computer, and saw the 'Acer' screen come up, and then the computer screen went black again and a command line started, where I received this message[CODE]

I have a 16GB USB drive sitting here calling me.. I have a project I want to do with it as well.
I would like to have Windows 7 32bit, Windows 7 64bit, Hirens Boot CD 9.9, and Windows XP all on the usb drive for install.
So basically I would boot from USB a menu would pop up and a choice of one of these 4 systems would be presented. Once you pick that Disk it would bootup to the install or application selected.
I was able to make a x32 USB Windows 7 stick but im confussed how to do a menu and allows multiple bootable images on a USB drive.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1.Have 7 standard users created in the User Accounts. Only 5 user icons displaying on welcome screen. All 7 users are required to and do have passwords set.Creating a new user does not add that new user to the welcome screen.Deleting a user does not move one of the other users onto the welcome screen..it reduced the number of user icons to 4.All users have valid User directories and if I force the login prompt instead of icons, they can login successfully. This happened about a week ago and may be the result of some software my son installed. Not sure. There is not an "Other User.." icon...just 5 valid user icons with 2 missing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Compaq Presario C700 which is giving me the following error: No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key.
I'm a technical user and have been able to fix just about anything, until now. I've done some research, and I've found that this Compaq C700 is a terrible computer that just can't be fixed. They're probably right.
I've tried to boot off an external optical drive, but this failed to load the system. I've checked the boot order is correct and that the optical drive was enabled in the BIOS, but this still did not allow me to boot from the optical drive. I knew that it recognized a system there because it had an underscore, which meant it was trying to boot from the disk, but sadly, no luck.
As for the hard drive, I've replaced it with a spare, couldn't install Windows 7 on it directly from the laptop, so I installed it on my desktop system, then put it back in. Still, the message. No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key.
I've verified every available BIOS setting to the last detail. The only thing I could think of and haven't yet tried is to try to see if there's a CMOS battery anywhere and disconnect that, but I'm not sure where that could be on a laptop, and taking this thing apart is practically impossible.
I know the CPU and system board and everything else seems to be in working order, it's just that it can't seem to work off of a Windows 7 disc or installation. A red flag for me was when I went into the BIOS (InsydeH20) it mentioned that Vista was the factory installed OS. I wonder if it's doing this because it's expecting, and is proprietary to, Vista.
My Toshiba Satellite L755 is receiving the following error at startup:
Check cable connection!
PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM.
No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key
This occurred after I used Toshiba Wizard to clear the hardrive. I was attempting to get everything back it's original state.
So far I have gotten into setup by holding f2 at startup. The boot tab reads:
1. HDD/SSD Hitachi HTS545050B9A300 (S1)
2. USB
3. ODD TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633F (PM)
4. FDD
5. LAN Atheros Boot Agent
I have also tried disconnecting the battery and harddrive and then reconnecting them.
I was just on the laptop browsing the internet as normal then all of a sudden out of nowhere it shuts off. Turn it on again.
I get this screen: [URL].
Then I got to the BIOS: [URL]
Then checked bootable devices: [URL]
The HDD is still connected: [URL]
So what do I do? I have valuable files and photos on this hard drive and do not wish to reformat or reinstall my OS.
