I hvae a AS Rock 939NF4G-VSTA motherboard. Sound worked perfectly when I was running Windows XP. However since installing windows7 64Bit , my sound card won't work as windows won't recognise it. Have checked out the ASrock website for an update to the drivers but they don't have one. Probably want me to but a new motherboard which I don't need.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running a 4CoreDual-VSTA motherboard with the built in Sound-card. I just upgraded to Windows 7, and now I am having issues with only being able to get MONO sound out of speakers. Any BIOS upgrades I attempt to run from ASRock's site give an error and refuse to run.
Any ideas how to UPGRADE my BIOS and fix this sound issue?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am unable to find a suitable driver for my computer. I have a Compaq Presario R3000AP 3.2 GHz 2.5GB Ram and have upgraded to windows 7 with SP1. I did a clean install and all the windows 7 drivers were installed and are compatible except for the Realtek AC'97 audio driver. I downloaded and installed the Realtek AC'97 Codecs from the Realtek website, but unfortunately this was unsuccessful . Then I downloaded and installed the SP29586 Realtek AC'97 Driver version 6.0.1.6305 from the HP website and this was also unsuccessful. Finally I downloaded from the Microsoft website the same Audio Driver version 6.0.1.6305 and installed it but unfortunately again this was unsuccessful. In the Device manager under Sound, video and game controllers it show below "Realtek AC'97 Audio device", version 6.0.1.6305 but in properties is shows "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" Windows 7 does recognize the sound device, but is unable to completely install it, even though under the "driver file details tab" it show drivers installed in the windows directory. I understand that Microsoft does not support the Realtek driver, but there must be some kind of fix or even someone out there that is able to rewrite the driver somehow. Seems a shame to have to get a new computer because of this, as it is very fast with windows 7 even though it is only a Pentium 4.

HDMI Audio won't work on my LG TV 42 120hz variety. The hdmi audio is greyed and cannot be enabled. The monitor is said to be a gneric plug-n-play versus an lg whatever. Latest ATI no change. Where can I get the correct 'monitor' driver - as the ATI catalyst control panel says no audio due to an unsupported monitor. Other systems I have the hdmi cables work perfectly so i have narrowed it to the display driver ( not the graphics card drivers.

I have looked at several other forums for solutions for this problem, installed several drivers (including but not limited to, R147073, R167846, R171786, and what ever driver dell support recommended me install) and I had my speakers and motherboard replaced. I am pretty sure its a windows 7 problem (according to Dell tech support and my research)

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got this problem with my intex USB Audio Speakers where whenever I plug them in my Windows 7 powered laptop, they just don't work. The default audio device in Control Panel/Sounds changes automatically from my onboard High Definition Audio Device to USB Audio Device (which I think it's normal). Also, there is no problem shown in Device Manager and when I hover my mouse on the Sound icon near the clock (system tray or notification area) it shows that the USB Audio Device are the default. I contacted Intex and they first told me that it might be a laptop problem, but then I installed Windows XP - the sound works great. I installed Ubuntu - the speakers are working also. It seems like it's a problem in Windows 7. I sent them another message telling them this, but they have never contacted me again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an hp media center PC m7350n and I have upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7, I also installed a new graphics card AMD Radeon HD 6450. When I was working on Windows XP my front panel audio was working for my headsets and microphone. Since I've upgraded my headsets and microphone don't work anymore. I tried many different things but didn't work. I first checked the connections inside the PC then I upgraded to the last Realtek HD driver, I looked in the bios nothing there to be done, I don't even have an option for front panel. The only option I have is onboard audio- auto/enable and disable which only works on enable. Then I looked in Realtek audio manager and the front panel connectors are greyed out or lighter than all the other connectors. When I plug in my headsets and microphone nothing happens and speakers still work. I checked mark disable back connectors when headsets are plugged in and nothing changes. The only change I have is when I check out mute microphone boost I have a squelching sound in my headsets. All the forums talk about Bios and front panel enabled and alc97 which I do not have as an option.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI only have this problem with 7, so I know it is not a hardware related issue. I simply can not get any sound out of my graphics card (seemingly) through HDMI. I have my bios setup to play audio from it. I've followed what everyone else has done when using the search, I have zero success. It worked before using 7, so I am 100% confident that this is a 7 issue (because it still works on Ubuntu!).All drivers and software is up to date too.

I have a Logitech x-530 system that I'm trying set up to my HP Compaq dx2400 Microtower computer. I've plugged in the three connectors to the pins - red in red, pink in pink and blue in black - just like I did on my other computer. However, it only plays sound from the front two speakers.
I make matters worse, I have NO Realtek Audio Manager, and if I edit my speaker settings from the control panel, then I ONLY have the option to choose 2.1 sound - no 5.1.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a IV880-10 (viewed in CD) AsRock motherboard, "Intel core 2 cpu" , 4coredual-VSTA.
When I had winXP, the front audio panel works perfectly but now with 7057 they won't work. I had installed the last audio codecs from realtek but the motherboard drivers (from CD) are incompatible and they don't let me install it on the 7057.
I tried to install them with the compatibility mode (Vista and XP) , but after the restart Windows 7 was damaged and started a "restore system".
So... frontal audio don't are my life, but i like them because they are very confortable to connect my speakers to mp3, ipod, and nother devices.
I'm a little newbie about this, so please can anyone tell me what have I to do to make my frontal audio panel works?
Do I need to download the 4coredual-VSTA drivers from asrock.com ? (bios?, audio?, hdd?)
Or simply is the 7057 that in this moment doesn't support my motherboard front panels?
It doesn't seem to work. Every time I click it, it gives me no audio. I have verything set up right so don't bother telling me to go into more properties.Is there a 3rd party program that can handle this instead? The decoder on Windows sucks with my receiver and I want to use the receivers decoder.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have realtek ALC898, part of gigabyte Z77 UD5h mobo, windows 7 ultimate 64bit. Rear jack speakers always work, sound always works. But after sleep, the front panel audio jack does not work, ie headphones silent.
Workaround 1) go to device manager, disable realtek high definition audio, then enable it, then front panel audio jack works properly. workaround 2) restart the computer and it works again.
I tried disabling sleep and using hibernate, since I read somewhere that hibernate is like a restart, but apparently it is not. Using hibernate, once it resumes from hibernate, front jack still doesnt work just like using sleep mode.
It sounds like resuming from sleep mode or hibernate mode, that windows 7 is failing to reinitialize some of the realtek audio drivers, at least those associated with front panel audio jack for headphones. So have to restart or disable/enable realtek high def audio in device manager. I have most recent realtek drivers, tried both from realtek, and most recent from Gigabyte, both have same issue. My windows 7 is fully up to date.
Am I right in this is just failure of 7 to reinitialize some drivers?
I don't have Mic Boosting slider on my Audio after adding Audio Fx to the audio driver.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI turned my computer on to find no audio playing. My main audio device plays bac audio from DAW just fine but if I load a video in WMP i get a code C00D11B1. If I try to play a test tone in the sound settings I get "Failed to play test tone". I have other audio devices connected and also get the same errors which makes me think this is a registry error or some windows communication error. The only thing I think might have caused this is when I was trying to get my ram to run at 1866. This is a new build and the ram should run at this speed as it is in the QVL but that is another issue. I should also mention that I have tried reloading the device drivers, updated the BIOS, and restyored windows from a previous state with no change.

View 3 Replies View Relatedthe newer smart phones have nice powerful processors in them so I was wondering if the DAC (Digital / Analog converters) in these are as good as the ones in a typical LAPTOP computer set up -- bog standard on board sound from a laptop computer -- not high end specialized studio stuff etc.My Galaxy III S phone can play FLAC files and plugging the output into a DECENT set of speakers appears to me to be just as good if not better than the same sound played from the computer - a relatively decent laptop computer (Sony VAIO VPCEH with Intel I5 processor). I tested this by connecting the phone DIRECTLY to the pre-amp with the music on the phone's micro sdhc card. Had I done it via the USB then that might have needed another DAC conversion so the test cases wouldn't have been the same.I use a phone app WINAMP PRO (just like the PC version) so I can use Folders / directories to play the music and it can play FLAC too -- a lot of music phone apps lack this facility which is a shame. I like also the "play by folders" too -- as I have a lot of Audio books -- saves endless tagging and creating playlists / albums. --Just point winamp to the directory / or file and play it.I find also streaming music from the phone to the receiver device seems to work better than messing around with pc software too -- especially on a laptop.Another app here -- OrangeSqueeze in conjunction with SQUEEZEPLAYER -does the job of the logitech squeeze server on the laptop. The phone will stream music from a Network (or any acessible drive) to the player device(s) -- no prob but use the Wifi on the phone --not the DATA content from the phone company !! otherwise your Bank balance will diminish faster than Spain's Economy.
I used to be very sceptical of smartphones --even have some posts on the forum saying I'd never buy them -- however I have to eat my own words -- the latest crop with the latest Android version are incredibly useful now and possibilities seem quite exciting with what you can do with them.Seems to me that we don't need to do much Multi-media streaming from Windows 7 in the future as your phone will handle it. Perhaps Ms is getting this right by gradually withdrawing a lot of multimedia in the standard version of W8.
Starting about a month ago, after six to seven months of my laptop working fine, I've been getting video and audio stuttering whenever gaming or watching most HD videos and after messing around with my drivers I realized that whenever my Realtek HD Audio drivers are disabled my video runs flawlessly, but when enabled both video and audio stutter. I'm using a Sony VAIO laptop so I'm assuming that the sound card isn't easily replaceable. I've tried using the newest drivers straight from Realtek's website and also the outdated driver provided by Sony's website, both of which result in the same stuttering. Sony has also replaced the motherboard once and it did not resolve the issue.I'm currently running Windows 7 with 6gb of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce 330M graphics card.
View 16 Replies View RelatedYesterday when I got home I could not get my headset working on my PC. It's a USB headset (Tritton AX720) but it works perfectly on my Xbox 360. There is sound coming from the headset but it is really quiet. My speakers to my computer work fine, it's just when I plug the headset in I'm not getting sound. I was working on it for about an hour last night and I can't figure out what is wrong with it. So far I've tried to make it my default audio device, I did a system restore to a few days ago, and messed with the setting a little bit. This headset has worked on my PC for about 6-8 months up until yesterday. By the way my audio for my computer is still working perfectly. It is only when I plug my headset in that it isn't working properly. I'm completely lost on what is wrong.
View 1 Replies View Relatedhow i can reinstall my main audio drivers so they stay installed and so i don't have to uninstall and reinstall them at every startup. it still says it's in use if i try to test it before reinstalling. to reinstall it i've been going to playback devices, right click properties, click properties on the new window, change settings on the next, last window click the driver tab and uninstall. then i go to device manager and scan for changes. it's really a pita DISREGARD THIS: ok so i've been trying to port audio from firefox to reaper + asio4all and found that i can do it with VAC. i first tried another program called virtual audio streaming but that didn't work. when i got VAC i uninstalled VAS first. since i've had VAC installed i can't listen to anything over my monitor's speakers (have computer hooked to monitor with hdmi). if i have "Digital Audio (hdmi)" set as the default audio device, the audio won't even start. for example if a start a movie in vlc and then realize there's no sound i can't just switch the default device to something else (usually can do this) i have to stop the video select a different device and start the video again. flash stuff online just won't play until i change the device. if i try to go to the properties of "Digital Audio (hdmi)" > advanced > and hit test it tells me the device is being used by another program. this was making me think that maybe it was because VAC was using that device to port the audio from windows or something. didn't really make complete sense but i uninstalled VAC, restarted my pc and it still does the same thing. i tried uninstalling the drivers (windows default drivers, the downloadable drivers IDT high def audio cause problems with other programs so i don't use them and would prefer not to) and restarting so they would reinstall but that did nothing.

I have tried two pairs on headphones and my tv speakers all with the same results. I have looked at all the balancing end everything is set to even on both channels.
