Basically whenever i try to use windows media center to play a bluray disk, it automatically quits out of wmc and launched powerDVD, which is jarring and feels like a cheap hack.
is there any way to get bluray disks to lay inside wmc?
I am running Windows 7 X64 bit OS. When I "click" on the CyberLink PowerDVD 12 Pro desktop icon nothing happens. This program was working until I encountered a small problem and was advised to uninstall the program and then re-install it. It did re-install but as mentioned in my opening statement the program will not open. All my other desktop icons open their respective programs.
I'm running Windows 7 (64bit) and made the mistake of installing an old version of Cyberlink PowerDVD, only to discover it's incompatible with Windows 7. So I have been trying to uninstall it to no avail. I've read some other posts online and they are very technical for me to follow. Anybody have a solution they can put forth in layman's terms. I'm not afraid of going in the Registry; I just need to know exactly what to do to fully uninstall this program! Then ... I promise I'll use Windows Media Center to play my DVDs!
I'm using a trial version from PowerDVD 9. On Blue Ray disks (only) I don't get the chapter information displayed, allowing me to choose the required movie or chapter, nor do I have subtitles displayed. Sometimes it's displaying a glimps of them indicating where they should be on the screen but not solid allowing you to make your selection. Sound and video are ok. using nvidia 9600m on Vaio. anybody ?
I am installing Windows 7 (Custom installation initiated from Windows XP) but I get the following error message when the installation is on the "Installing updates" step of the installation:
"Setup cannot continue due to a corrupted installation file. Contact the vendor of your Windows installation disc or your system administrator for assistance."
Do you have any idea what the problem may be with the installation? Is there a way to see what file that may be corrupted?
I have tried to burn the DVD in low speed, but the error appears anyway. I have a MSI K8T Neo2-Fir mainboard and the Windows 7 upgrade advisor application says that my hardware is okay for upgrading.
I did a clean install of Windows 7 RC 1 on this computer that has a Blue Ray player in it. I've successfully played a Blue Ray DVD but partway through the movie the computer just completely restarts.I think I've narrowed it down to specifically either a Blue Ray problem or a PowerDVD issue. There is no error when the computer restarts, it just does. This has not happened on any other application that I have run on the computer either.
Ok, had some old parts lying around and built an HTPC with them, it is for streaming media, Blu ray and recording over the air hdtv signals. It is an Intel Pentium Dual core e6200, 4gb of ddr2 at 800mhz, 500gb wd 7200rpm as boot drive and 2tb wd green as data drive, Samsung blu ray drive, a RADEON hd 5650 1GB and it is all in a Silverstone gd-05. The blu ray drive came with cyberlink powerdvd 9 to play blu ray and every time I try and play a movie it crashes the software. When I ran the blu ray advisor it says the video card isn't fast enough. Is cyberlink lying or the software just that crappy?
trying to install my free Windows 7 Upgrade on a Toshiba laptop I bought about a month ago. I got all the way to the "install required components" part, and it installed all except the "Cyberlink PowerCinema for Toshiba Patch". Beside this, it says "failed", and I can't do anything or advance through the install. Anyone know where I go from here to get the update installed?
I have a Gateway laptop with Windows 7 and a disc-drive that used to play Blu-Ray. Now it says "No disc in Drive D" when I insert a Blu-Ray disc. Regular movies play fine. I updated to Cyberlink 11 and also downloded the patch.
Why is there no audio output on my power dvd cyberlink? I have a collector's set of DVDs...Planet of the Apes. I have beautiful picture, but no audio. What can I do?
I am looking to create a bat file that will launch straight into the Powerdvd 12 plugin within Media Centre. I have seen posts where people have done this with the Netflix plugin but can't find anything for Powerdvd.
Two days ago I've reinstall windows for some reason..after reinstallation complete I've download more than 90 windows update and my laptop working properly. Unfortunetely the built-in cyberlik youcam missing and I can't find the software or driver to fix my problem. When I downloaded this software from web it's just give me a trial version..
so what the heck, is cyberlink in cahoots with the media industry? should I not be able to run a 2011 bluray disk via powerdvd7.3 and have to chuck 100 bucks to get this working again? I have been able to run bluray in this version before (Terminal Salvation). I'm sorry I don't keep up with updates and just expect things to work, crazy consumer I am. It's not a defective ROM this LG CH08NLS10, so you can get that out of your pretty little heads right now ? is there any wonder why I haven't gone all Highdef yet?
I have tried to install Windows 7 SP1 64 bit and it gave an error message of: windows update encountered an unknown error code 80246007. I also get the error message after my laptop restarts if the installation shows it supposedly installed: installation not successful an uknown error has occured Error 0x8008095. I have also tried the 3 steps to try before installing Windows 7 SP1 and I still get the above errors.I would like to know the following:
1. When we update Windows where does it store the updates. Because I noticed that each time I update I loose disk space and I am wondering if I could delete these updates once I know they work.
2. I noticed a folder in the color of purple. It is: c:userusernameApp Datalocalmigwiz in this folder it contains the following files: debug.txt, diagerrr.xml, diagwrn.xml, miglog.xml, setupact.txt, setuper.txt what is the folder for.
3.I use windows disk cleanup and ccleaner. I noticed that when you install or uninstall programs it creates a restore point and shadow copies. I clean them out once a month. Is there anywhere else that shadow copies are created and can be deleted. How about does Windows 7 has a cache where we need to delete files. How many temp folders does windows 7 create. I would like to retain some disk space back. Do you know if Office 2010 where it stores it updates and can we delete them once we know they work.
I was having problem running office 2007 on my windows 7 desktop hp machine. I uninstalled and wanted to install it again, this time i am getting this error message "error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component{4C0384C6-ED23-4E23-95F5-C812AAD8EFFE}. HRESULT: 0x8002802F"

I've just installed Windows 7 on top of my old XP machine. For the first hour I had no problems connecting to the internet. I downloaded antivirus protection (AVG) and Comodo firewall and windows 7 began updating itself. The comodo firewall download stalled and I had to manually reboot the computer. It seemed to start fine in normal mode and windows finished updating itself. Since then however (i.e. after the reboot) I have not been able to access the internet with an 'error 651" message displaying. I removed both AVD and Comodo with no change in the situation. I also did a system restore to before the windows updates, still no luck.
I access the internet via a broadband modem connected to a router. I don't have the full details of the models with me now but can repost in about five hours with the details if needed. I've searched online and note that many have said I should replace the raspppoe.sys file.
Since this is a brand new instal, should I just re-install Windows 7?
i've created another topic related to a BSOD . Anyways i've decided to format my OS so i did . But an error showed up , i'll tell you exactly what it said : Failed to create a new partition on the selected unused space.[Error:0x8004240f].That's what it said . I don't know what caused it but after i deleted that partition , i couldn't just make a new one it kept giving me this error
I have built new PC ( mb: asus M5A78L-mlx Plus, cpu: AMD 2 x 260,4GB Ram AM3,1TB HDD) Trying to install windows 7 Pro 64 bit and i get this error saying "Windows cannot install required files.Make sure all files required for installation are available ,and restart the installation." when the file are expanding.(0%).I have already changed the hdd, replaced dvd rom ,disable usb in bios, changed sata cable, removed the batt on MB and still no luck so far.
i tried installing win 7 pro upgrade from student discount onto a seperate 1tb drive. i have vista premium and was doing a dual boot. files would load but after that i would get this error: winload.exe error. tried installing it alone onto the 1tb seagate drive, removing the vista drive but still the same error.
remove every peripheral and 2 stick of ram but still the same error. system is intel q6600 on an asus p5ke-wifi with 4 gig of 8500 ocz ram. also tried repairing my vista installation but the same error appears.
I'm getting a very strange installation issue. I was hoping someone could shed some light on my problem.
To start with, I'm using a Windows 7 v7000 installer disk. I'm confident that this installer is good, because I've already set up my gaming machine with it.
Now I want to install Windows 7 on my home theater PC. The components are as follows:
ASUS P5N-EM HDMI
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66Ghz
Western Digital HD
2 GB of Ram
I am able to install windows Vista on this machine with out a problem.
This is what happens when I attempt to install windows 7:
Everything appears to load off of the DVD drive. I go through "Copying Files," "Expanding Files," "Installing Features," and "installing Updates." Then the machine reboots.
The installer continues to behave as expected, with "setup is updating registry settings." Then it reboots again. This is where the Sh*t hits the fan...
After the reboot, it takes me into a black screen "Windows Error Recovery." If I ask the machine to start up normal, it immediately reboots again, returning to another "Windows Error Recovery" screen. It will repeat this cycle forever.
If I ask it to start in Safe Mode, then I get the following error message: "Windows cannon complete installation in safe mode. To continue installing windows restart the computer."
I'm at a loss. I even downloaded build 7022, and the problem still persists.
I used to be able to install Windows 7 Betas just fine, but now when I went to go install the latest build 7057, it gets up to the Copying Files section, then jumps straight to 100%, then goes into Expanding Files, then comes up with an error about not being able to find the files!
I tried reverting to a previous beta that I knew worked, same problem.
I tried reformatting (through Ubuntu) and still can't get it to work!
Anyone else have this kind of a situation?
EDIT: I'm using a IDE -> USB Adaptor, tried two different DVD drives, same result.
I would LOVE to have Windows 7 on my Eee, but it just won't work!
