After successfull installation few months ago, and perfect operations, I had lately to decide to re-install everything following a tough virus issue. My problem is, when booting from the original Windows 7 pro 64 installation disc, I get the following message:
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."
If you do not ......
File:windowssystem32configsystem Status: 0xc0000001 Info: Windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing, or corrupt.
I cannot understand this message, because I am using the original installation disc.
PS: My HDD is already formated via 3rd party application.

I am running on Windows 7 64bit home premium. My computer has been really weird lately. I have tried recovering my computer to an earlier time but it constantly failed. Explorer.exe will fail on me, and I have tried the src thing using run but it will open and immediately close on me. I didn't have a recovery disk so I just recently bought one. I "think" I made the recovery disk correctly. When I put the cd in, I got an error that the file winload.exe with the error code 0xc0000001 saying the file may be missing or may be corrupt.

I'm getting this error after a forced shut down. I'm told to insert installation disk and repair but I don't get this option, I'm just returned to the same error message. I have tried restarting and loading windows from the installation disc. I'm told that windows is loading and the windows logo appears but after a while it goes to a black screen with only the mouse cursor showing.

I am installing Windows 7 (Custom installation initiated from Windows XP) but I get the following error message when the installation is on the "Installing updates" step of the installation:
"Setup cannot continue due to a corrupted installation file. Contact the vendor of your Windows installation disc or your system administrator for assistance."
Do you have any idea what the problem may be with the installation? Is there a way to see what file that may be corrupted?
I have tried to burn the DVD in low speed, but the error appears anyway. I have a MSI K8T Neo2-Fir mainboard and the Windows 7 upgrade advisor application says that my hardware is okay for upgrading.
I have tried to install Windows 7 SP1 64 bit and it gave an error message of: windows update encountered an unknown error code 80246007. I also get the error message after my laptop restarts if the installation shows it supposedly installed: installation not successful an uknown error has occured Error 0x8008095. I have also tried the 3 steps to try before installing Windows 7 SP1 and I still get the above errors.I would like to know the following:
1. When we update Windows where does it store the updates. Because I noticed that each time I update I loose disk space and I am wondering if I could delete these updates once I know they work.
2. I noticed a folder in the color of purple. It is: c:userusernameApp Datalocalmigwiz in this folder it contains the following files: debug.txt, diagerrr.xml, diagwrn.xml, miglog.xml, setupact.txt, setuper.txt what is the folder for.
3.I use windows disk cleanup and ccleaner. I noticed that when you install or uninstall programs it creates a restore point and shadow copies. I clean them out once a month. Is there anywhere else that shadow copies are created and can be deleted. How about does Windows 7 has a cache where we need to delete files. How many temp folders does windows 7 create. I would like to retain some disk space back. Do you know if Office 2010 where it stores it updates and can we delete them once we know they work.
I was having problem running office 2007 on my windows 7 desktop hp machine. I uninstalled and wanted to install it again, this time i am getting this error message "error 1935. I've just installed Windows 7 on top of my old XP machine. For the first hour I had no problems connecting to the internet. I downloaded antivirus protection (AVG) and Comodo firewall and windows 7 began updating itself. The comodo firewall download stalled and I had to manually reboot the computer. It seemed to start fine in normal mode and windows finished updating itself. Since then however (i.e. after the reboot) I have not been able to access the internet with an 'error 651" message displaying. I removed both AVD and Comodo with no change in the situation. I also did a system restore to before the windows updates, still no luck.
I access the internet via a broadband modem connected to a router. I don't have the full details of the models with me now but can repost in about five hours with the details if needed. I've searched online and note that many have said I should replace the raspppoe.sys file.
Since this is a brand new instal, should I just re-install Windows 7?
i've created another topic related to a BSOD . Anyways i've decided to format my OS so i did . But an error showed up , i'll tell you exactly what it said : Failed to create a new partition on the selected unused space.[Error:0x8004240f].That's what it said . I don't know what caused it but after i deleted that partition , i couldn't just make a new one it kept giving me this error
I have built new PC ( mb: asus M5A78L-mlx Plus, cpu: AMD 2 x 260,4GB Ram AM3,1TB HDD) Trying to install windows 7 Pro 64 bit and i get this error saying "Windows cannot install required files.Make sure all files required for installation are available ,and restart the installation." when the file are expanding.(0%).I have already changed the hdd, replaced dvd rom ,disable usb in bios, changed sata cable, removed the batt on MB and still no luck so far.
I'm getting a very strange installation issue. I was hoping someone could shed some light on my problem.
To start with, I'm using a Windows 7 v7000 installer disk. I'm confident that this installer is good, because I've already set up my gaming machine with it.
Now I want to install Windows 7 on my home theater PC. The components are as follows:
ASUS P5N-EM HDMI
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66Ghz
Western Digital HD
2 GB of Ram
I am able to install windows Vista on this machine with out a problem.
This is what happens when I attempt to install windows 7:
Everything appears to load off of the DVD drive. I go through "Copying Files," "Expanding Files," "Installing Features," and "installing Updates." Then the machine reboots.
The installer continues to behave as expected, with "setup is updating registry settings." Then it reboots again. This is where the Sh*t hits the fan...
After the reboot, it takes me into a black screen "Windows Error Recovery." If I ask the machine to start up normal, it immediately reboots again, returning to another "Windows Error Recovery" screen. It will repeat this cycle forever.
If I ask it to start in Safe Mode, then I get the following error message: "Windows cannon complete installation in safe mode. To continue installing windows restart the computer."
I'm at a loss. I even downloaded build 7022, and the problem still persists.
I used to be able to install Windows 7 Betas just fine, but now when I went to go install the latest build 7057, it gets up to the Copying Files section, then jumps straight to 100%, then goes into Expanding Files, then comes up with an error about not being able to find the files!
I tried reverting to a previous beta that I knew worked, same problem.
I tried reformatting (through Ubuntu) and still can't get it to work!
Anyone else have this kind of a situation?
EDIT: I'm using a IDE -> USB Adaptor, tried two different DVD drives, same result.
I would LOVE to have Windows 7 on my Eee, but it just won't work!
I've been trying to install Windows 7 for like 3-4 times now and every time I get to the Completing Installation part I wait a little and suddenly I get a red error box and it says something about "Windows cannot be installed..." and then pc shuts down. The error box is there for like 0.5 seconds so I cant read it, but its just like 1 sentence. "Cannot be installed" and something after that.
I am trying to install Internet TV on WMC so I can watch free streaming TV programs. When I click on the install button, WMC starts to download about 5 MB of data. When it finishes downloading, it gives me an error - Installation Error, A problem occurred during installation. Please try again later. The only option I have is "Close". I tried to reinstall many times but every time yielded the same error. I couldn't find anything in the event logs wrt this error. Where should I look and what should I do?
i have a windows 7 Enterprise installed on a laptop..the issue with windows 7 is that i the list of "Cryptographic Service provider" in the drop down is not available..the drop down is for "Cryptographic Service provider" empty...what settings need to be done for that..
i have a hcl inffosystems cpu with 2gb RAM, a hitachi hds728080pla380 80gb hard drive, and it used to operate with win xp. while trying to custom install windows 7, the xp files were all deleted. However, the installation process stopped short and on restarting, the installation menu does not install into the hdd saying " the hardware may not support booting to this system." I've formatted the disk using diskpart on cmdprompt, partitioned it into an ntfs volume. it's still not accepted. the microsoft website says: "This problem occurs because Windows Vista cannot distinguish between ambiguous hard disks. In versions of Microsoft Windows Setup that are earlier than Windows Vista Setup, hard disks are marked with distinct values to distinguish them.owever, this method of distinguishing hard disks is no longer supported because of the potential for data corruption on hard disks. follow these steps: Create one or more partitions on all the hard disks that are not initialized. Restart the computer.Install Windows Vista."i only have two hdds, and i have tried everything i can think off in diskpart.
After all the steps been the first time, after it reboots it saysWindows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.2. Choose your language settings, and then click next.3. Click repair your computer. If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer anufacturer for assistance.
I'm using a IBM Thinkpad T42p laptop which was originally running Windows XP. My friend gave me bootable Windows 7 USB stick which he had used to successfully install Windows 7 on his laptop which is the same as mines (we're using school laptops) whenever I run the setup the laptop always abruptly restarts during the "Completing Installation" process and I get an error message saying "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed.
