Winload.exe Error Code 0xc0000001?
Feb 20, 2012
I am running on Windows 7 64bit home premium. My computer has been really weird lately. I have tried recovering my computer to an earlier time but it constantly failed. Explorer.exe will fail on me, and I have tried the src thing using run but it will open and immediately close on me. I didn't have a recovery disk so I just recently bought one. I "think" I made the recovery disk correctly. When I put the cd in, I got an error that the file winload.exe with the error code 0xc0000001 saying the file may be missing or may be corrupt. I am not very experienced with computers s of right NOW, explorer.exe keeps failing on me when I log into my account and when press the system restore option, it freezes and starts explorer.exe and a pop up about my administration failing.

No info about this error and still can't find a way to install Windows 7.
First my configuration :
- Asus Maximus Gene 3 with latest BIOS
- Core i5 760
- 4 * 4 Go DDR 3
- GTX 570
- 120 Go SSD.
(new configuration assembly by hand)
Second the error :
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the case. To fix the problem:
Insert your Windows 7 installation disk and restart you computer.
Choose your language and click next.
Click "repair" your computer.
If you don't have the disk contacts your administrator or your pc vendor.
File Windowssysytem32bootwinload.exe
Status: 0XC0000001
Info: The selected entry couldn't be loaded because the application is missing or corrupted.
I've tried to install it from DVD (retail), and 2 different USB Key (with official usb key maker, from Windows 7 x64 via vmware on mac) : Got the same error
Tried to use only 4 Go of Ram : Same Error.
MemCheck via Ubuntu Live USB : No Error on RAM (all four passed)
Tried to format and copy install files on SSD : Still failed.
Tried another hard drive (250 Go SATA) : still failed.
Booting from Backtrack/Ubuntu live usb.

I'm getting this error after a forced shut down. I'm told to insert installation disk and repair but I don't get this option, I'm just returned to the same error message. I have tried restarting and loading windows from the installation disc. I'm told that windows is loading and the windows logo appears but after a while it goes to a black screen with only the mouse cursor showing.

so i have my mums laptop which is a toshiba portege one of the old student laptops. it started getting the BSOD and then not being able to restart with it just keep going around in circles trying to boot saying that winload.exe is missing or corrupt with the error code 0xc0000001
it all requires you to be able to log into windows or safemode first. i have tried 2 seperate windows 7 discs that are proven to be good and an ubuntu disc and an xp and a repair disk. the windows 7 discs go to the "windows is loading files" and then to that error done it around 30 times. the xp and repair discs just stay on the blank screen with a flashing underscore and nothing will happen. the ubuntu disc can start up in a live session but when you try and install it it freezes at 5% and will never get passed it.
i put the hdd into another pc and done the command prompt partitioning and clearing as well as using gparted and went through all the discs again and all happened the same so i just went out and bought another hdd thinking that will fix it.
the new hdd makes no difference and i get the exact same results with the discs. i can get into the bios but i cannot get any further with anything, is there hope or is the pc messed up?

I have installed on a second partition of my first hard disk seven (in a first partition I have vista). The first start of 7 goes well and I can see the desktop without any problem. Then I restart my pc to change the boot priority and set the hard disk as default. Then I restart again and I see the vista boot manager that ask me to select the os to start. When I select 7 I get an error that say:
FILE windowssystem32winload.exe
Status: 0xc0000428
info: windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file.
(I think that is the english version of my error, the code match)
I try to repair the windows starup with the wizard on 7's dvd but it doesn't work. I unistall, reburn, reinstall 7 but the result was the same.
If I open (when I running vista) the property of winload in 7's directory I see that the digital signature of the item doesn't match.

I am using Vista and the computer just restarted for no reason. The problem though the computer will not start. I am at a black screen with the message that the file windowssystem32winload.exe is missing or corrupt. The error code is 0xc000000f. I don't know what to do. The computer is asking for the startup disc. I did not receive one when I purchased my computer. I am lost as to what to do.

I have 3 hdd's.
1 x 160GB (SATA)
- Partition: ~149GB - Win Vista64
1 x 300GB (SATA)
- Partition: ~220GB - MISC
- Partition: ~58.5GB - Windows 7 64
1x 1TB (SATA)
- Partition: ~931GB - Games
I ended up taking my 300GB drive, created a logical partition, then booted into the Windows 7 dvd I have. (win 7 - 7100?, straight off ms)
Firstly, it takes about a couple minutes just to load the files. Then once it finally gets to the splash* screen and the cursor appears.....it takes about 5-10minutes for the "install" window to appear which seems VERY odd since my machine is VERY fast. It takes quite a bit of time to accomplish installing from loading to finished (40minutes maybe)...
After everything installs when I go to choose the Windows 7 option on the boot menu, I get this black SOD
Windowssystem32winloader.exe error 0xc000000D
Something about the file being missing or corrupt.
I took my Windows 7 disk, and entered command prompt through recovery tools (which takes at least 5 minutes due to loading time to get to each time).
I ran DISKPART, then did LIST VOL, so it would tell me the partitions and letters.
Then I took another window, and entered bcdedit. The letters matched up with the partition letters and the file DOES exist.
I've tried 3 different sources on 3 different DVD's to see if perhaps I had a bad image (1 x microsoft/2 x torrent), but that's not the case.
I've tried setting the path's again through bcdedit to make sure there was no data corruption in the settings, and that was not successful either...
So when I need to figure is out why it tells me the file "winloader.exe" is missing or corrupt, when in fact it is pointing to the right harddrive, on the right partition, on the right location.
Yes, they all show up on the BIOS post, yes it recognizes the 300GB drive in the setup without extra drivers. The only hdd it needs extra drivers for to see is my 1TB, but I'm not using that for the Windows 7 installation.

I'm trying to restore my Windows 7 64bit machine to its factory settings at the moment, and I've tried the following but they've all failed.1.) Boot up and hit F8, select Repair computer, but then it just boots Windows normally.2.) Create System Repair Disc, and from BIOS boot-up, choose boot from DVD-RW, but when it does that and loads Windows files, Error 0xc000000d and winload.exe missing comes up.3.) When I tried to insert the installation disc that came with my computer, it's not recognized and nothing happens (during boot from DVD-RW).*Note - Just today when I tried to do a system restore, it said that I had no previous restore points, but I just restored a week ago, so that might add some info.

It says "Sorry for the inconvenience. You have stumbled upon an unexpected, temporary problem." This happens every other email. What are these codes and why is this happening?

i recently got a computer from my aunt, and decided to put windows 7 on it. Before I installed it, I put in a Geforce 8800 graphics card and a (2nd) cd rom drive. After 20 failed attempts to install windows 7 (it kept freezing at the completing installation part) it worked after i disconnected the new graphics card and one of the hard drives. Now, however, i keep on getting periodic blue screens with the following error messages : Memory Management, and PFN_List Corrupt. I ran a memory diagnostic and it said that the memory is fine. What is wrong with my computer? I also ran a system repair thing from the windows 7 disk, and it came up with this error: System File Integrity Check and Repair Error Code 0X490
My Hardware is:
AMD Anthlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 6000+
2 Hitachi HDT725032VLA SCSI 320 gb hard drives
Nvidia Geforce 8800 GS Graphics Card
3gb of system memory

After successfull installation few months ago, and perfect operations, I had lately to decide to re-install everything following a tough virus issue. My problem is, when booting from the original Windows 7 pro 64 installation disc, I get the following message:
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."
If you do not ......
File:windowssystem32configsystem
Status: 0xc0000001
Info: Windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing, or corrupt.
I cannot understand this message, because I am using the original installation disc.
PS: My HDD is already formated via 3rd party application.

I restarted my PC the other day (Dell XPS 8300) and then when it got the the Win7 login screen (the one where user profiles/pictures should be listed) a weird error message in wingdings font appeared. Eventually I learned to use a install/repair disc to use bcedit and bootrec from command line. Oddly, it seemed that my OS drive letter had changed from C: to E: . After a lot of research I removed a secondary hard disc I installed. The drive letter is now right, and the partition size seems right.y problem now is when windows starts I get an error saying that winload.exe cannot be verified. The error code is 0xc0000428. I've tried bootrec /fixmbr, /scanos, rebuildbcd/, /fixboot, with no luck. Same with start-up repair I understand that some people have been able to find a working winload replacement in /windows/system32 (sometimes called winload~1) but I don't seem to have luck.

i have windows 7 Starter and bought the disk to upgarde it to windows professional, so i put dvd into dvd-unit... duh and after loading two white bars for secondary boot device it displays the hell message "winload is missing or corrupt..." i have already tried EVERYTHING on the forums and on the web including all the bootrec processes, rebuilt bcd, get a new copy of winload switching carpets, and modding BCD file to specify diferent routes for windows to search the file.. and yet nothing...I personally think the problem is that my C: drive it's partitioned in 3 one called system backup (wich is the standar recovery console for vaio, another partition of around 10 gb named System reserved and the free space where windows is located.
