Lately, it hangs with this error right after the flash screen of ABIT logo. It gives me the option F1 to continue, Del. to enter setup. If I punch F1, it promptly boots and runs just like always.The same time this showed up, my clock on desktop runs slow. Real Slow.So far I have scanned with MSE, then scanned with MBAM, I pulled the CMOS battery, then moved the CMOS jumper, waited several minutes, then re-set the jumper before I replaced the battery. Oh, yeh, "bout forgot I had a couple of extra hard drive hooked up, one Sata and another Pata, I unplugged both of them, also unplugged my USB flash drive also unplugged USB hub, and unplugged an old USB Zip Drive. I removed all that stuff before I re-set the Bios. Then, of course I reset both the calandar and the correct time.I googled the slow clock and somebody said to go into device manager> IDE ATA/PATA controllers and check the box "enable DMA" on each Channel. I did that.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Windows 7 machine runs in the subnet 192.168.1.x (actual IP 192.168.1.33) and there is a Linux machine with windows share (smb or Samba) on a different subnet 192.168.2.x (actual IP 192.168.2.5). There is a router inbetween of course.Before they were on the same subnet and I could easily see the Linux machine when using Windows Explorer and clicking on Network. Now, I can't see it anymore.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy internet connection shows 'no internet access' even though my ISP shows the connection is coming into the house just fine. I usually use a router (NetGear-WNR3500U) but I right now I have the Ethernet connection plugged directly into my PC. I tried directly plugging into my laptop and the internet works just fine. So I know the problem resides in the PC.
Some troubleshooting things I have tried.
-Power cycled my modem, router and PC.
-Repinged my connection from my ISP(Comcast Xfinity)
-Used the reset option on the router and the modem
-I was walked through the internet options needed with the tech support from my ISP to make sure DHCP was enabled and every other setting was correct, and he cleared me that all settings were correct.
-Tried ipconfig commands to /renew and /release my IP When I tried ipconfig /renew I get the error 'An error occurred while renewing interface Local Area Connection : unable to contact your DHCP server'
-Restored my PC to a restore point where the Internet was working
All of these options did not work.
What I think the problem is and I am not sure how to fix it, when I run the ipconfig /all command my Auto configuration IPv4 Address shows 169.254.112.76 which I was told is a router IP address even though I am plugged directly from the modem to my PC with an Ethernet cord. So I think that's my problem? But I am not sure.

View 5 Replies View RelatedNow, just 3 days ago It started the BSOD issue.I realize that my GPU was the cause of this issue. When playing games or open 3d applications the temp goes 30C to 72C (In 15 seconds) then 82C - 85C constant (in about 30 seconds).Now I've been using MSI afterburner to check my temps and at fulload my GPU will be at 62-72C max temperature but now it's 10C even higher then before. No, I haven't fiddled with the voltage I set the GPU voltage to 1.037v which is the safest (been running this almost 8 months!). The GPU is the GTX 560ti.Is there a way to set the GPU on default settings or reset GPU settings in cmd or other professional way. I have uninstalled the drivers, uninstalling GPU, disabled GPU, disabled PCI-E slot and so on by using device manager and the issue still persist. Yes, I also have clean the GPU perfectly and still the temperature goes up to 82 seconds at 30seconds-45seconds. Yes, I have checked everything is set correctly and so on, I am a PC Tech.
Is the GPU damaged? Yes I have looked at this thread: Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try Mainly, I know its the GPU straight away, I tried checking old drivers, new drivers, another GPU overclocked software such as GPU tweak and EVGA Precision. I am thinking it's the GPU is damaged or the PCI-E is damaged (I have another PCI-E slot on my system and the issue still there). It might be the PCI-E frequency? but it's set to 100 which it meant to be, I just hope is software related because I don't have the money to buy a new card. Did the dump files help?

Been reading some of the other threads and tried some of the settings offered and still nothing seems to work. I'm not understanding why I have to enter a network password and where its coming from. Obliviously its from Windows 7. Also I'm assuming the enter network password is for the homegroup? I don't even have homegroup setup or enabled. If it was once setup and then disabled will the password prompt still pop-up? I'm currently using the work network as the network location, with password protect sharing off and under Homegroup connections use User Account and passwords.
I have a windows server 03 running and all my comps can login with the 03 local account but windows 7 wont let me with out putting in a "Enter Network Password". I even tested this using XP on vmware bridged environment and it let me login. So I dont know what the deal is with Windows7.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy computer fully supports S3 sleep state and last week is was working correctly. I recently reinstalled Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and it seemed it was working correctly. As you can see in the screenshot, I use only one device to wake up my computer,which is my keyboard, (I've always used this device in the past). When I put the computer to sleep, the monitor will go off, and it sounds like my speakers turn off as well, it's almost as if it's using S1 sleep state instead of S3, Lights stay on the power supply, the fans are still spinning. I wake up the pc with the keyboard, monitor comes back on, password login screen comes back. I have done quite a bit of searching on Google to find out my exactly problem, but only found answers to what is causing a pc to wake up automatically. That is not my case, as my computer will not sleep correctly anymore.
I think it has to definitely be software loading after windows is booted. I have tried a test, and as soon as I restart the computer and login, I put the computer to sleep immediately and it does it correctly. After a few minutes or hours, the computer won't sleep like it will from a fresh reboot. Something is loading after windows boots and is causing the computer not to sleep correctly. I have also disabled my onboard lan adapter to see if wake on lan is causing the issue. I have went into the bios and disabled WOL and saw S1 and S3 sleep modes supported.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought W7 Ultimate edition a few days ago, and i tried to install it. after facing a lot of problems with the instalation ( had to take out all usb cables, also 2gb of ram so i have 1 left inside, in order to finish the instalation.) and now, finally, the instalation is finished. not to mention that somehow even though i chose to create the new copy of w7, my old XP is still installed.
Beside that, i finally installed w7, and once w7 starts, i enter the password, 5 sec passes, and the whole pc freezes. I Read a bit on the forums and seen that some people advised to download newest video drivers, but it didint help. In safe mode, it runs perfectyl, but outside the safe mode, nothing works.
I use bitlocker on a 500 gb partiton in my hard drive. Windows 7 is also installed in the same drive. before it was all fine but since this morning i hvnt been able to start windows(it hangs at the welcome screen). I switched on the computer then I enter the numerical bitlocker password ....then it hangs at the welcome screen. I tried accessing the Bitlocker encrypted drive from other operating systems the drive is shown as locked. when i tried to open it, it prompts for the password. when I enter the password the computer freezes.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to connect to a wireless router in the house I share with roommates. It is not my router, just what they give me access to with my rent. They are using a WEP key with this router. Just for clarity I will even post the WEP key (since no one on here will know what router this is for). The 5 byte WEP key in hexadecimal is 18 01 44 62 AE. the first 2 characters have no viewable ASCII character equivalent and Windows 7 doesn't appear to allow me to enter in the Hex values when entering a WEP key. So, can Windows 7 not handle this or can the WEP key for a network be entered in Hex format somewhere and I just don't know where yet?
