I am trying to install Windoes 7 Home Premium. Win7 is an original OEM version bought together with hardware. Before I used Vista, and after that Ubuntu Linux.Everything worked fine. Then I decided to try Win 7 on my laptop. My laptop is a Toshiba U300-159.Problem is that at the end of installation, after I have entered product key and press next the computer hangs and after a short time I get a BSOD with error code f4.I have checked both RAM, processor and harddisk. Everything is ok acording to test results. Furthermore I have tryed to reinstall Ubuntu Linux and it works perfectly. But I bought win7 because I want to use this. Any ideas on how i get to install win7?
First off this is a newly built computer, all fresh components. aftercleaning/activating the hdd via shift +f10 at Windows 7 setup,(which took me a day to figure out) i was very excited to see my hdd available for Windows 7 installation. as i proceed windows does its thing, after installing its time for the first restart. it restarts right back to the initial windows 7 setup ive done a lot of research, and majority of the problems seem to be the boot priority in bios. so i made sure that it was usb-hdd, then hard drive. (Windows 7 on flash drive for me, no dvd burner available). still the same thing, right back to initial setup. i tried maybe to remove the flash drive during the 10 second countdown to restart, but when it restarts, the windows splash screen comes up and then blue screens and restarts real quick. cant see what the error is on bsodthere have been a couple different start up issues, "windows did not start properly" "select version of windows to start from" (or something to that effect.) but its all the same outcome. windows 7 just wont finish installation
I've completed a new custom build, but have had problems with BSOD from the beginning with any installation of Intel Graphics drivers or the installation of any graphics card.
When I first completed the build, the XFX-7950 Black was installed. I booted to BIOS without issue, but when I inserted the Windows 7 (64 bit) it would boot through the windows logo screen but immediately BSOD right after going to the first install screen.
I removed the graphics card, and was able to complete the full Windows install without issue. I updated Windows and the drivers on the system but as soon as I installed the Intel 3000 Graphics driver, it would BSOD on every restart. I recovered back prior to the Graphics driver install and installed all other drivers. I updated the BIOS to the latest version.
I have reattempted the XFX 7950 multiple times in different slots, but with the same results. I also attempted my Radeon HD 4550 from my old computer but it gave the same results. It always boots through the Windows logo screen, but BSOD within a few seconds of reaching the password screen.
I broke down and installed Driver Whiz, which did detect multiple outdated drivers that I had not caught, but none of these fix the issues.
I've attached the requested zip. I don't think all BSOD's are showing up, as I've had to use recovery points after installed drivers didn't work. The last .dmp on 19 JUL was a Intel Graphics driver install attempt that I pulled off in safe mode before recovering back to the pre-driver point.
System: ASUS P8Z68-V Pro/GEN 3 Intel 2600K XFX R7950 Black Edition OCZ 850W Crucial 128 GB SSD Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HD Corsair H100 Windows 7 64 bit (full)
I was having many random bluescreens on my old home build. I upgraded my Videocard to an Nvidia GTX 550 Ti thinking that it was videocard related. After fresh install I'm still getting BSODs.
After what seemed to be a successful upgrade from Vista Home Premium 64-bit to Windows 7 RC 64-Bit, my computor BSOD's on the frist restart after displaying "System is Starting Services" (See attached pictures) The odd part is I then partitioned off my hard drive and did a clean install of 7, which worked great.
Troubleshooting I have done:
-Uninstalled all programs and drivers that conflicted with compatibility report
-re-downloaded and burned the install disc
-tried installing the windows 7 beta as opposed to the rc
im currently using vista 32bit and decided to do a fresh install on a brand new HDD of the 7RC, it installed fine but after rebooting to finish setup and start windows i get BSOD with a 116 error, ive done some googling and have found out that its video card related but i dont really know what to do next, any ideas?
I have been having a lot of blue screens for the past few weeks. I have tried running a disk check and memcheck and those didn't find any problems. I just did a fresh install of windows 7 64 bit and have been having the same problems.
I have been getting bsods recently at first it was only when trying to play BF3 i couldnt play for more than 5 min before bsod. now its moving its way into normal functions.i will include a dx diag and cpu z .txt file Here are the reports from the time frame i recieved the bsod. Iwill also include the one i got last night before i gave up.Let me know if there is anything else I should include
Windows 7 Pro x86 (32-bit) Original installed OS OEM Age of system (hardware): 2010 December Age of OS installation: Two days. I did complete SFC /SCANNOW without any errors. I've run a diagnostic on the memory that didn't turn up anything and my case is running cool. I have several others from the same lot that are all working well (including the one I'm on now). I did get my first BSOD this time around after install of SP1 install without restart yet. After installing AVG (I know...) it occurred again. I can't really give this computer to anyone until it doesn't crash randomly.
I thought it was my video card but then i swapped it out and it is still doing it. it used to be random but now it seems to do it randomly and when installing new programs and also at 10% install on the new wow exp beta it is at 10% on the dot every time.
After I install ATI Drivers 9.4, or Realtek High Definition Audio Driver 2.27 or even drivers from windows update for my TV card. Every time I change drivers I get a BSOD, not after install but after the installation I make a restart and BSOD happen (after the logo of Windows 7 and before the welcome scream). I could get in, in Safe Mode and try the restore and sometimes after that i can get in again in normal mode, but if i make a rr again, it goes to the same thing.
If someone could translate that for me, it will be great. I already try google it, install drivers once in a time, install the SO many times, but still can't isolate the problem of the BSOD.
In Windows Vista everything works great, but in any build of 7 give me problems.
I didn't have this problem at all prior to updating to this build of Windows 7. I get the BSOD when upping the activity on the computer, such as trying to download multiple files at once. I thought it was the memory so I RMA'd it and it just got back. So I did an entire rebuild, cleaning and reseating everything. Did another full reformat and installed Windows 7 7100 from a different ISO off my flash drive. Bing! Again, BSOD. Not sure how to proceed. Details to follow...
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000d1 (0x0000000000000008, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffff88002ca402a).
It's a really fast BSOD, I see nothing but the screen going black with some crazy graphic bs going on for a half second then it restarts.... Nothing but a clean install. I just tried using Driver Sweeper on the ATI files but they kept reappearing even after I uninstalled them. Given that I still ran the ATI driver package then I went into IE to download Firefox and as soon as it started downloading, BSOD again. There is nothing else on the install, I tried using my flash drive and a DVD to install Windows 7 7100 and I still get the same problem. Like I said, memory is brand new, nothing is overclocked...
I have two computers (mine and my wife's) which are, for the most part identical.. bought the parts all at the same time, just ordered them x2. The only thing I have changed since building them is my PSU.
From within Vista I popped the disk in and began the install process. It appeared to download some updates prior to installing. It restarted and did its thing.
It "seemed" to install fine.. I got to the desktop and started copying various drivers and programs to the desktop to install. As it was doing that, my wife jumped on and changed the wallpaper.. (I watched and that's all she did) I asked her to double click on the newest video card drivers to install them. They appeared to install fine.
A few seconds later the screen began to flicker on and off. Then it locked up and have the BSOD with the nvlddmkm.sys.
It would then restart and before actually loading windows, it would BSOD again with the same file name. Now it's in a loop.
I've tried reinstalling about 3 times. All three times I've booted from the DVD, repartitioned and formatted.
Every time, it will restart at the Finishing Installation step then BSOD with the same file name. I can no longer get it to boot to the desktop.
I'm using the same DVD I used on my PC. Zero scratches on the disk. I've also used an older version of Windows 7 via DVD and that version seems to have problems too. No BSOD but after installing it will restart and post a black screen with a blinking underscore indefinitely.
How is it possible that with identical systems one has problems and one doesn't? Any thoughts on how to correct this?
i'm trying to clean install windows 7 on a sata hard drive, booting from cd the starting windows screen appears and then the blue background screen appears with a cursor and then nothing else happens and the pc turns itself off after about a minute.

Make sure you click 'Format' on the partition you want to install Windows 7 to, don't just create the new partition and press 'Go' I have a Core i7 920, Gigabyte EX58-UD3R, Radeon HD 4870 512MB, 3GB DDR3 G.Skill 1333 RAM (exact specs can be seen in profile) and I'm having issues trying to install Windwos 7.
I backed up all my stuff from XP onto my external, got ready to reformat like normal tossed the Windows 7 x64 Professional disc into the drive and booted from CD. Everything worked like normal, Windows 7 is a bit different in that it doesn't run in a BIOS-type setting like XP but rather has its own little graphical install interface. Figured out what I wanted (custom install, "deleted" the old partition), and pressed go. I thought it was weird that it didnt "format" the hard drive like XP installation does, I know I can get a boot disc with 'Book and Nuke' to wipe the hard drive which I may do, but I figured since Windows 7 didn't want to format that it wasn't entirely necessary. Goes through the expanding files fine, whatever else it does on the first isntall screen, and then it gets to the restart phase.
Restart goes well, automatically shuts down and boots back up, getting to the screen that says 'Starting Windows...' and then crashes. Monitor gets the 'No Signal' message, computer stays shut off for a few seconds and then powers back up. It gives me the 'Windows crashed and recovered from an error' selection where I can choose how I want to boot (Safe Mode, Last Good Configuration, etc.) and I've tried the 'Boot like Normal' configuration and it will just continue this cycle.
The first time I tried installing Windows 7 it got past this screen, got to the portion of the installation where it automatically adjusts the resolution, and then after that it crashed. Since then I have not been able to get past the first reboot without a constant restart loop.
I tried 32-bit with the exact same results.
I have disabled all but 1 core and disabled hyperthreading (this was required to install XP beacuse I don't have a SP2 disc) to see if it worked but the same thing happened. Reset BIOS to factory defaults, same thing. Changed back to 1 core, no hyperthreading and same thing happened again. I have no extra video cards I can try but I could ask my brother if I can borrow his 23" widescreen HANNS-G monitor but unless I'm mistaken I don't think this is an issue that a monitor would fix.
I'm not the most computer-savvy person but I can work my way around. I don't know if there is a log file I can access and post here to see what the last thing that happened (the error) is, but I never get a BSOD with an error I can post, just a restart and Windows telling me there was an error and asking how I want to boot.
So recently I attempted the jump from 32-bit to 64-bit in the form of Windows Vista 32 to Windows 7 64. My processor has 64-bit architecture (It's a Q9400), so I assumed if I did a clean install of windows 7 and formatted Windows Vista off of my hard drive completely, that I would not have an issue. When (I think) i'm almost done with the installation, and when windows is "starting up", the BSOD comes up with the error:
I'm trying to install the newest build on an old laptop that currently runs XP. I try booting from the DVD, and after it gets to the point where the little green progress bar animation plays on the bottom of the screen, I instantly get the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL bsod.
Other cases I've found of this bsod seem to be related to peripheral drivers, but it's a laptop, so there are none (per se).
I have tried to build a new computer yet every time I try to install Windows 7 I get a blue screen that says "Modification of system code or a critical data structure was detected.

A month ago my computer began giving me the BSOD w/ various codes related to memory faults and driver issues, possibly because I installed a new graphics card, CPU and HDD. When updating the drivers for all my hardware didn't work I decided that it was time for an upgrade anyway and bought a new MB and memory. After installing both, and still receiving the BSOD, I decided to stop the whole guess and check method, and do a clean OS install. I deleted the hard drive partitions and attempted a clean install. I still get the BSOD before Windows fully installs (Stop Code 0x0000001E) .I attempted the clean install with nothing more than on-board graphics and 4gb memory. Is it possible that I need to replace the hard drive?
So I just finished building my new build a week ago. I installed windows and everything was working fine. The next day a BSOD poped up and I ignored since it didnt pop up again. But recently it kept poping up when i play games ( GW2 ). It kept poping up and up until it would pop up even before i logged on. I try re installing windows but it would say missing file or BSOD would pop up.
Specs Intel i5 2500k gtx 570hd 2.5 8gb ram (2 4gb sticks) 500gb HD Western Gigabyte ultra durable mother board.
i keep getting the BSOD stop code 0x00000024 and 0x000000E when i try to install Win 7 ultimate on my new system i just built. I have had no problems with the cd on 2 other computers. I cannot get into windows to check if my disk is corrupt because i can't install windows to get in to check. it seems like my problem is nowhere on the internet.
I've just made a new fresh install of Windows 7 - 64bits (legal version). Everything was fine, all drivers were up to date. But, when I install updates from Windows Update, during the installation of the SP1 (when the screen is "do not turn off the computer"), the computer reboots, and it said that it occurs a BSOD !? I've seen nothing. According to Whocrashed, it's because of BAD_POOL_HEADER, from ntoskrnl.exe (which belongs to Nvidia I think) and e1c62x64.sys (for Intel LAN)... After reboot, Windows continues slowly its updates like everything was OK... but I wonder is that SP1 & updates have been compromised (poorly done, half or what) 'cause of this BSOD? Should I reformat the computer?Windows Update indicates that all these updates were successful...
i start the Windows 7 installation from Bios and it goes thru 1st step and when is starts to decompress files i get the BSOD it says: "Bad memory management error" or "IRQL_DRIVER_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" please help me i ve never had an error like that before i boguht ati hd 5570 Sapphire i was with an onboard nvidia geforce 7050PV 3GB of DDR2 ram 320gb of hdd amd athlon X2 5000+ running at 2.6Ghz 400W PSU SuperWriteMaster IDE DVD i downloaded the Windows 7 image file burned it to a DVD+RW on 2X Speed with nero6 the DVD Disk is brand new it's not even scratched....
I've got a machine that bluescreened yesterday while putting a new XFX 6850 through its paces. Machine had been back up about an hour, I'd installed latest AMD drivers, ran OCCT's GPU stress test on error check mode for half an hour or so without issue, and then was running Unigine's Heaven DX11 benchmark tool on loop to check out performance & noise/thermals. I returned with some food 30 min later to find the machine BSOD'ed. Tried for about an hour to replicate the BSOD without it recurring.

I've got a few other computers I can test the card in, just trying to track down any other potential causes first.
I have been having some major issues with windows 7 over the last few months. I have been getting BSODs frequently either while doing anything and while away from the computer. They usually occur about 30-60 minutes after I turn on the computer. I have run check disk, system file scanner, memtest 86+, my hard drive manufacturers integrity test, and even did a repair install in order to fix my problem. The problem was there before and after the repair install (which took a couple of tries to get it to finish without a BSOD). I contacted microsoft support and after 2 reps and close to 2 months of back and forth they said they did everything they know how (see above), and that was all they could do for me. I'm really annoyed because I want to upgrade to Windows 7 but I am forced to run xp because of this. I have attached my Dump files from the bsod.
my computer is about 2 years old. It first came with Windows vista 64. A few months ago I got a hold of a copy of windows 7 pro 32, so I wanted to check it out, even If I was going to take a hit on ram. Well now I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64, but after doing a fresh install I kept getting BSOD after the windows logo. I was able to complete the setup after removing all my ram except for one stick. The same problem persists after setup. I can boot up in safe mode just fine with all of my ram.
This PC has ran fine since 2008 when it was built. It was recently updated to Windows 7 Pro OEM. During the OS upgrade it had more memory added (4x2GB, all slots filled). Upgrade and install went flawlessly. All software (photoshop, premiere, firefox, antivirus) was re-installed without any errors or hick-ups. Upon updating firefox (I believe the timing was co-incidence) it Blue Screened. It has had issues ever since. So my last stitch effort was to back everything up and re-install Windows and hope that it fixed the problem. Needless to say that it hasn't been fixed and it still randomly blue screens. Windows Memory Diagnostic ran with no errors returned
Bought a new computer 2 weeks ago, came in 3 days ago. Been having trouble with it since. Usually I'm the "Mr. Fix-it" when it comes to PC's but I've never messed around with any debugging tools.
I've tried all the troubleshooting you can possibly do when trying to diagnose a blue screen of death. Tried both RAM sticks separately, took the video card out and used on-board video. I even tried both RAM sticks with on-board video separately. Unplugged the DVD-ROM, no avail. I called ASRock and got a technician who I could barely understand, but was telling me something about "XMP". I didn't see the XMP option under the DRAM configuration, even if my sticks don't support it wouldn't the option still be there? I think he has my motherboard confused with another one. He told me to either replace the RAM with new RAM or send the motherboard back in and exchange it.
I came here to see what the BSoD DMP files REALLY have to say the problem is, so I can solve it once and for all. I didn't pay for new hardware to let it sit here and collect dust.
SPECS: Nothing is OC'd except the GPU, it was OC'd straight from the factory
My changed from the on-board marvell raid controller to the gigabyte raid controller because my system kept crashing. After doing so, I reloaded windows seven and reinstalled all the drivers. Upon the first restart for windows updates (SP1) I got the BSOD
