BSOD: Install Drivers

Jun 27, 2009

After I install ATI Drivers 9.4, or Realtek High Definition Audio Driver 2.27 or even drivers from windows update for my TV card. Every time I change drivers I get a BSOD, not after install but after the installation I make a restart and BSOD happen (after the logo of Windows 7 and before the welcome scream). I could get in, in Safe Mode and try the restore and sometimes after that i can get in again in normal mode, but if i make a rr again, it goes to the same thing.

If someone could translate that for me, it will be great. I already try google it, install drivers once in a time, install the SO many times, but still can't isolate the problem of the BSOD.

In Windows Vista everything works great, but in any build of 7 give me problems.

BSOD Installing Drivers After A Fresh Windows Install, Code 0xf4

Aug 12, 2012

My computer was suffering from random bsods and viruses before. I atributed the bsods to viruses, but after reinstalling windows 7, I found that the bsods still happened. It seems to happen when installing drivers, or running prime95. Booting into safe mode allows me to pretty much do anything.

When crashing, it does a slow crash, where I can move the mouse around, but the startbar and any other programs dont respond. Explorer then crashes, followed shortly by a bluescreen.

Windows 7 Wont Complete Install Restarts Install Or Bsod?

Sep 7, 2012

First off this is a newly built computer, all fresh components. aftercleaning/activating the hdd via shift +f10 at Windows 7 setup,(which took me a day to figure out) i was very excited to see my hdd available for Windows 7 installation. as i proceed windows does its thing, after installing its time for the first restart. it restarts right back to the initial windows 7 setup ive done a lot of research, and majority of the problems seem to be the boot priority in bios. so i made sure that it was usb-hdd, then hard drive. (Windows 7 on flash drive for me, no dvd burner available). still the same thing, right back to initial setup. i tried maybe to remove the flash drive during the 10 second countdown to restart, but when it restarts, the windows splash screen comes up and then blue screens and restarts real quick. cant see what the error is on bsodthere have been a couple different start up issues, "windows did not start properly" "select version of windows to start from" (or something to that effect.) but its all the same outcome. windows 7 just wont finish installation

IDT Audio Drivers Won't Install - Windows 7x64, Clean Install?

Jan 30, 2012

I'm working on a re-install of all components following a complete corruption of the boot sector on my drive which could not be fixed with repairs. The last time I installed everything fresh, I had no issues. Between then and now, there have been no hardware changes on my system, but now I am having issues installing the IDT Codecs. I keep getting an error along the following lines: Quote: ExitError: Error=Device Object not present, restart the system and run setup again. Running under compatibility mode, and running drivers from both the motherboard CD and the manufacturer website both have the same effect. The CD, when booted, says "This OS not support!" and only contains 32-bit vista codecs. ECS' website download indicates the IDT drivers as being compatible with Windows 7. Both do not work. It is almost as if the hardware "disappeared," despite the fact that I was using the drivers quite successfully till just 2 days ago, when the boot sector went kaput.

Windows has installed its own default set, which do nothing to power the 8mm jacks which I use with my speakers, but instead put sound through the HDMI, which is useless because I use a dedicated graphics card. I have tried uninstalling this codec and re-installing IDT, to no effect. Windows replaces with its own default codec.I have referenced this thread here, but offered solutions do not seem to work for me: Intel IDT Audio Driver will not install

Install Mobo Drivers Or Keep Win7 Drivers ?

Dec 1, 2009

I have a simple question, I recently fresh installed Windows7 and was wondering if I should Install the new mobo drivers from the ASUS site (i have an ASUS P5Q Pro) or should I just keep the current microsoft drives for all the chipsets/lan/etc. The only Thing I installed was the Realtek sound driver. Would there be any advantages to install proper drivers? because right now my computer runs perfectly stable and smooth using the Windows7 ones.

How To Install Device Drivers During Windows 7 Install

Jan 10, 2012

During the installation process of Windows 7 it is possible to load drivers, e.g. the downloaded SATA, LAN and Graphics drivers for a specific motherboard (MoBo ASUS P7P55D).However, these files are compressed zip files and Unzipping delivers a set of folders with in each a number of files. Which are the device drivers?

BSOD With Install Of Intel Graphics Driver Or Install Of Graphics Card

Jul 19, 2012

I've completed a new custom build, but have had problems with BSOD from the beginning with any installation of Intel Graphics drivers or the installation of any graphics card.

When I first completed the build, the XFX-7950 Black was installed. I booted to BIOS without issue, but when I inserted the Windows 7 (64 bit) it would boot through the windows logo screen but immediately BSOD right after going to the first install screen.

I removed the graphics card, and was able to complete the full Windows install without issue. I updated Windows and the drivers on the system but as soon as I installed the Intel 3000 Graphics driver, it would BSOD on every restart. I recovered back prior to the Graphics driver install and installed all other drivers. I updated the BIOS to the latest version.

I have reattempted the XFX 7950 multiple times in different slots, but with the same results. I also attempted my Radeon HD 4550 from my old computer but it gave the same results. It always boots through the Windows logo screen, but BSOD within a few seconds of reaching the password screen.

I broke down and installed Driver Whiz, which did detect multiple outdated drivers that I had not caught, but none of these fix the issues.

I've attached the requested zip. I don't think all BSOD's are showing up, as I've had to use recovery points after installed drivers didn't work. The last .dmp on 19 JUL was a Intel Graphics driver install attempt that I pulled off in safe mode before recovering back to the pre-driver point.

System:
ASUS P8Z68-V Pro/GEN 3
Intel 2600K
XFX R7950 Black Edition
OCZ 850W
Crucial 128 GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 1 TB HD
Corsair H100
Windows 7 64 bit (full)

I have multiple minidumps from using verifier that kept reporting I had a bad driver. However when I turned it off I could boot normally and I didn't have any problems until recently. Closing out of the game Fallout: New Vegas caused a BSOD that stated there was a Bad Pool Header which is odd because I have also had a BSOD a few days ago when opening a game using Steam as well.

Troubleshooting I have done:

-Uninstalled all programs and drivers that conflicted with compatibility report

-re-downloaded and burned the install disc

-tried installing the windows 7 beta as opposed to the rc

-disabled my video drivers

I've run a diagnostic on the memory that didn't turn up anything and my case is running cool. I have several others from the same lot that are all working well (including the one I'm on now). I did get my first BSOD this time around after install of SP1 install without restart yet. After installing AVG (I know...) it occurred again. I can't really give this computer to anyone until it doesn't crash randomly.

BSOD 0xD1 On New Install

May 29, 2009

I didn't have this problem at all prior to updating to this build of Windows 7. I get the BSOD when upping the activity on the computer, such as trying to download multiple files at once. I thought it was the memory so I RMA'd it and it just got back. So I did an entire rebuild, cleaning and reseating everything. Did another full reformat and installed Windows 7 7100 from a different ISO off my flash drive. Bing! Again, BSOD. Not sure how to proceed. Details to follow...

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000d1 (0x0000000000000008, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffff88002ca402a).

It's a really fast BSOD, I see nothing but the screen going black with some crazy graphic bs going on for a half second then it restarts.... Nothing but a clean install. I just tried using Driver Sweeper on the ATI files but they kept reappearing even after I uninstalled them. Given that I still ran the ATI driver package then I went into IE to download Firefox and as soon as it started downloading, BSOD again. There is nothing else on the install, I tried using my flash drive and a DVD to install Windows 7 7100 and I still get the same problem. Like I said, memory is brand new, nothing is overclocked...

BSOD On New Install (nvlddmkm.sys)

Jul 18, 2009

I have two computers (mine and my wife's) which are, for the most part identical.. bought the parts all at the same time, just ordered them x2. The only thing I have changed since building them is my PSU.

From within Vista I popped the disk in and began the install process. It appeared to download some updates prior to installing. It restarted and did its thing.

It "seemed" to install fine.. I got to the desktop and started copying various drivers and programs to the desktop to install. As it was doing that, my wife jumped on and changed the wallpaper.. (I watched and that's all she did) I asked her to double click on the newest video card drivers to install them. They appeared to install fine.

A few seconds later the screen began to flicker on and off. Then it locked up and have the BSOD with the nvlddmkm.sys.

It would then restart and before actually loading windows, it would BSOD again with the same file name. Now it's in a loop.

I've tried reinstalling about 3 times. All three times I've booted from the DVD, repartitioned and formatted.

Every time, it will restart at the Finishing Installation step then BSOD with the same file name. I can no longer get it to boot to the desktop.

I'm using the same DVD I used on my PC. Zero scratches on the disk. I've also used an older version of Windows 7 via DVD and that version seems to have problems too. No BSOD but after installing it will restart and post a black screen with a blinking underscore indefinitely.

How is it possible that with identical systems one has problems and one doesn't? Any thoughts on how to correct this?

Install Crashing (No BSOD)

Oct 25, 2009

Make sure you click 'Format' on the partition you want to install Windows 7 to, don't just create the new partition and press 'Go' I have a Core i7 920, Gigabyte EX58-UD3R, Radeon HD 4870 512MB, 3GB DDR3 G.Skill 1333 RAM (exact specs can be seen in profile) and I'm having issues trying to install Windwos 7.

I backed up all my stuff from XP onto my external, got ready to reformat like normal tossed the Windows 7 x64 Professional disc into the drive and booted from CD. Everything worked like normal, Windows 7 is a bit different in that it doesn't run in a BIOS-type setting like XP but rather has its own little graphical install interface. Figured out what I wanted (custom install, "deleted" the old partition), and pressed go. I thought it was weird that it didnt "format" the hard drive like XP installation does, I know I can get a boot disc with 'Book and Nuke' to wipe the hard drive which I may do, but I figured since Windows 7 didn't want to format that it wasn't entirely necessary. Goes through the expanding files fine, whatever else it does on the first isntall screen, and then it gets to the restart phase.

Restart goes well, automatically shuts down and boots back up, getting to the screen that says 'Starting Windows...' and then crashes. Monitor gets the 'No Signal' message, computer stays shut off for a few seconds and then powers back up. It gives me the 'Windows crashed and recovered from an error' selection where I can choose how I want to boot (Safe Mode, Last Good Configuration, etc.) and I've tried the 'Boot like Normal' configuration and it will just continue this cycle.

The first time I tried installing Windows 7 it got past this screen, got to the portion of the installation where it automatically adjusts the resolution, and then after that it crashed. Since then I have not been able to get past the first reboot without a constant restart loop.

I tried 32-bit with the exact same results.

I have disabled all but 1 core and disabled hyperthreading (this was required to install XP beacuse I don't have a SP2 disc) to see if it worked but the same thing happened. Reset BIOS to factory defaults, same thing. Changed back to 1 core, no hyperthreading and same thing happened again. I have no extra video cards I can try but I could ask my brother if I can borrow his 23" widescreen HANNS-G monitor but unless I'm mistaken I don't think this is an issue that a monitor would fix.

I'm not the most computer-savvy person but I can work my way around. I don't know if there is a log file I can access and post here to see what the last thing that happened (the error) is, but I never get a BSOD with an error I can post, just a restart and Windows telling me there was an error and asking how I want to boot.

Install BSOD With Igdkmd64.sys

Nov 24, 2009

So recently I attempted the jump from 32-bit to 64-bit in the form of Windows Vista 32 to Windows 7 64. My processor has 64-bit architecture (It's a Q9400), so I assumed if I did a clean install of windows 7 and formatted Windows Vista off of my hard drive completely, that I would not have an issue. When (I think) i'm almost done with the installation, and when windows is "starting up", the BSOD comes up with the error:

"igdkmd64.sys

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

Technical information:

*** STOP: 0x00000050 (0xFFFFF88103878FE6, 0x0000000000000000, 0xFFFFF880049A51DB, 0xFFFFF880049A50000000000005)"

[Could have misplaced a zero..]

Anyways, if anyone could me know what my problem might be.

Specs:

Intel DG43NB desktop motherboard

4GB DDR2 @ 800mhz

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 processor

If any further information is needed let me know but I do not have the exact model names for the hard drives that I am using.

PS: ANY information will probably be helpful please I cannot find anything about this error really. Thank you for your time!

BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL During Install

Other cases I've found of this bsod seem to be related to peripheral drivers, but it's a laptop, so there are none (per se).

BSOD During Windows 7 Install?

Aug 9, 2011

A month ago my computer began giving me the BSOD w/ various codes related to memory faults and driver issues, possibly because I installed a new graphics card, CPU and HDD. When updating the drivers for all my hardware didn't work I decided that it was time for an upgrade anyway and bought a new MB and memory. After installing both, and still receiving the BSOD, I decided to stop the whole guess and check method, and do a clean OS install. I deleted the hard drive partitions and attempted a clean install. I still get the BSOD before Windows fully installs (Stop Code 0x0000001E) .I attempted the clean install with nothing more than on-board graphics and 4gb memory. Is it possible that I need to replace the hard drive?
