Windows 7 Wont Complete Install Restarts Install Or Bsod?

Sep 7, 2012

First off this is a newly built computer, all fresh components. aftercleaning/activating the hdd via shift +f10 at Windows 7 setup,(which took me a day to figure out) i was very excited to see my hdd available for Windows 7 installation. as i proceed windows does its thing, after installing its time for the first restart. it restarts right back to the initial windows 7 setup ive done a lot of research, and majority of the problems seem to be the boot priority in bios. so i made sure that it was usb-hdd, then hard drive. (Windows 7 on flash drive for me, no dvd burner available). still the same thing, right back to initial setup. i tried maybe to remove the flash drive during the 10 second countdown to restart, but when it restarts, the windows splash screen comes up and then blue screens and restarts real quick. cant see what the error is on bsodthere have been a couple different start up issues, "windows did not start properly" "select version of windows to start from" (or something to that effect.) but its all the same outcome. windows 7 just wont finish installation

BSOD During Windows 7 Install?

Aug 9, 2011

A month ago my computer began giving me the BSOD w/ various codes related to memory faults and driver issues, possibly because I installed a new graphics card, CPU and HDD. When updating the drivers for all my hardware didn't work I decided that it was time for an upgrade anyway and bought a new MB and memory. After installing both, and still receiving the BSOD, I decided to stop the whole guess and check method, and do a clean OS install. I deleted the hard drive partitions and attempted a clean install. I still get the BSOD before Windows fully installs (Stop Code 0x0000001E) .I attempted the clean install with nothing more than on-board graphics and 4gb memory. Is it possible that I need to replace the hard drive?

BSOD And Windows 7 Won't Install

Sep 1, 2012

So I just finished building my new build a week ago. I installed windows and everything was working fine. The next day a BSOD poped up and I ignored since it didnt pop up again. But recently it kept poping up when i play games ( GW2 ). It kept poping up and up until it would pop up even before i logged on. I try re installing windows but it would say missing file or BSOD would pop up.

BSOD For Fresh Install Windows 7 During SP1?

Sep 13, 2012

I've just made a new fresh install of Windows 7 - 64bits (legal version). Everything was fine, all drivers were up to date. But, when I install updates from Windows Update, during the installation of the SP1 (when the screen is "do not turn off the computer"), the computer reboots, and it said that it occurs a BSOD !? I've seen nothing. According to Whocrashed, it's because of BAD_POOL_HEADER, from ntoskrnl.exe (which belongs to Nvidia I think) and e1c62x64.sys (for Intel LAN)... After reboot, Windows continues slowly its updates like everything was OK... but I wonder is that SP1 & updates have been compromised (poorly done, half or what) 'cause of this BSOD? Should I reformat the computer?Windows Update indicates that all these updates were successful...

BSOD Before And After Fresh Windows 7 Install?

Feb 18, 2012

This PC has ran fine since 2008 when it was built. It was recently updated to Windows 7 Pro OEM. During the OS upgrade it had more memory added (4x2GB, all slots filled). Upgrade and install went flawlessly. All software (photoshop, premiere, firefox, antivirus) was re-installed without any errors or hick-ups. Upon updating firefox (I believe the timing was co-incidence) it Blue Screened. It has had issues ever since. So my last stitch effort was to back everything up and re-install Windows and hope that it fixed the problem. Needless to say that it hasn't been fixed and it still randomly blue screens. Windows Memory Diagnostic ran with no errors returned

BSoD After Fresh Windows 7 Install?

Mar 19, 2012

Bought a new computer 2 weeks ago, came in 3 days ago. Been having trouble with it since. Usually I'm the "Mr. Fix-it" when it comes to PC's but I've never messed around with any debugging tools.

I've tried all the troubleshooting you can possibly do when trying to diagnose a blue screen of death. Tried both RAM sticks separately, took the video card out and used on-board video. I even tried both RAM sticks with on-board video separately. Unplugged the DVD-ROM, no avail. I called ASRock and got a technician who I could barely understand, but was telling me something about "XMP". I didn't see the XMP option under the DRAM configuration, even if my sticks don't support it wouldn't the option still be there? I think he has my motherboard confused with another one. He told me to either replace the RAM with new RAM or send the motherboard back in and exchange it.

I came here to see what the BSoD DMP files REALLY have to say the problem is, so I can solve it once and for all. I didn't pay for new hardware to let it sit here and collect dust.

Can't Install Windows 7 32 Bit - Receive BSOD

May 6, 2012

My friend recently installed windows 7 ultimate 32 bit on his laptop, everything went perfect and is running fine.

He then decided to also upgrade his desktop, he had successfully installed it and was able to get to the log in screen without any problems, once typing in his password and logging into to windows, the screen would flicker and go black and blue and sometimes the pc would shut itself off. The error which we could make out before the screen went off was 'Kernel driver has stopEd responding.' something to that effect, I can't remember the exact message. But we managed to figure it was an issue with the nvidia drivers, as it seems to be a wide spread problem with nvidia GeForce cards (my friend has a 8600gt). Now since then we decided to format the hard drive and perform a fresh install of windows 7. Now this wer things get interesting.

We booted from CD and ran the windows 7 installation, when the screen comes up to ask which partition/hard drive you want to install on, we formatted the hard drive on this screen and then tried to perform an installation, the installation started, but stopped at some point and we received a blue screen, now weneva we attempt to boot from cd, the windows installations files are loaded and the windows starting logo is displayed, but then we receive the BSOD.

I cannot provide you with any dump files as there is not operating system, but I have taken a picture of the BSOD that we receiving.

Continuous BSOD's Even After New Windows 7 Install Onto New SSD?

Jun 15, 2012

It's been a long time since I've been on this website, think it was over some Windows live junk, but chea. So I'm not really sure what is causing the issue, I was lead to believe my old SSD was giving out on me along with perhaps a mishap with an update to newer drivers of ATI 5xxx HD graphic cards. But alas after trying to do what i could, i eventually gave up noticing i was running low on SSD space from my 60GB and reinstalled onto a 120GB after getting fed up with the BSOD's on that. So, i moved onto the next, got it all up and running, but it seems something is wrong with it as well and i can't exactly pinpoint it and i've forgotten how to read memory dumps correctly so here I am again at this great community to fix this thing again( As for issues i've run into, seems like playing League of Legends will result in a BSOD here and there while in game, sometimes just browsing on firefox 13 here and there results in my computer starting to freeze up and going black with a rare glimpse of my desktop or things on it before going black again with the mouse unresponsive, etc.

BSOD After Fresh Install Of Windows

Nov 25, 2012

Ive ran memtest86 4.0a and i found several million errors. So i scanned through 1 and 1 ramslot to try to determine which ram was giving the errors, this only resulted in 1 of my 4 ram had only 1 error? I found this weird so i thought it might be the DIMM thats corrupted.

So now i removed 3 of my rams and i only run with 1 which passed the test. Still i get unexpected shutdowns aka BSOD.

Ive tried to remove my SSD and only use my HDD back and forth , changing to IDE inside BIOS, but with no good results at all..
Ive also tried to change my PSU to a different brand, but all volts seems ok.
I also reinstalled windows with USB, CD, from HDD yeah you name it, different versions... etc.. i even tried to install Windows 8 but with the same result

This all actually just started out of the blue, i have no clue how but i didnt install anything , all of the sudden i started having connection problems which resulted in BSOD.

Windows 7 BSOD During Clean Install

Mar 18, 2011

I am trying to install windows 7 on a MSI PM8M3-V motherboard, but every time it gets to the "completing installation" step, it BSOD's and doesn't give me enough time to read the errors before it restarts. I have tried everything, I installed xp just fine, and ran the W7 upgrade advisor, and it says everything is fine. BIOS is updated, every setting in the BIOS has been fudged with to no avail. no memory problems, disk errors, etc. I tried installing with everything disconnected, and a different AGP video card, still nothing I've tried installing from DVD-ROM and USB, both give the same result The crazy thing is that this board, memory, HDD combo has had W7 installed and running fine before, it's just when I put it into a new case it is not installing.

Format, Clean Windows Install - Still Same BSOD

Jan 6, 2012

I use a 1.5 year old aces aspire 5738z and I think it just died on me. Here is what happens. Whatever I do it cannot stay without a BSOD for more than 10 minutes. I tried reinstalling drivers and it did not change anything so I tried several things but finally just formated it and installed windows again. I actually got a BSOD while installing windows from an original CD so im pretty sure my problem is hardware related. I did a check of the ram with Memtest for approx 45 minutes (one full cycle) and found nothing. I did a quick test of the HD with an other program and it did not find anything either so im starting to think its the graphics card that is dying.

Here are some specs

BSOD Reoccurs Even After Fresh Install Of Windows 7

Checked memory sticks, I have 2*2 GB >> memory diagnostics everything is fine. Switched sticks to different slots. >> no use
Reinstalled full system. >> no use

Daemon tools are uninstalled after which I experience less BSOD but still occurs. Previously ever day now every 3-4 days. Recently my previous HDD went bust, now I have a new one still issues. System checks run fine and usually when windows would load up system crashes. Usually it is ntoskrnl.exe or cdd.dll that crash or when they start loading according to blue screen viewer. Pagefault in non paged area, boot sector errors are the 2 main reasons usually. All minidum dump files and system info attached.

BSOD - Unable To New Install Windows 7 On New SATA

Apr 22, 2012

Using Tyan K8W Thunder s2885 in rack mount case. The board is over 10 years old. Dual AMD Opteron 250 processors, 64 bit. RAM 8 Gb. ATI Radion HD 3650, AGP. There is only the video card, driving a single LCD monitor, PSP mouse & USB keyboard, and the HDD attached to the board, no peripherals.I am installing Win 7 home Premium 64 bit. I have had Windows 7 running on this board for over a year, from an IDE 80 gig drive.I installed a new SATA 500 gb and have only that drive in the case.

I have to manually load 114R5_x64_15150_logo drivers for Sil Image SATA controller, from a USB drive. I have just spent a day learning about and using DISKPART to finally be able to start the install. The install starts OK, expands and loads files. About 2 minutes into 'expanding files' I get BSOD, STOP: 0x00000124,(0xFFFFFA800643F038,0X00000000B604A001,0X000000000000813)I have repeated the steps and reproduced the problem at about the same time into the install. I have no idea if there is a way to read/post a log. Since windows is not installed, there is not the usual dump available.

BSOD When Trying To Install Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Jan 28, 2011

I've build a computer and want to install windows 7 x64 on it. But when I start the setup I allways get a bsod: Most of the time with this error: 0x00000124. I also had these: 0x0000007F, 0x0000009C, 0X0000007E, 0x0000000A

These are my specifications:
Mobo: MSI P45 Diamond
CPU: Intel core 2 Quad Q9650 3GHz
RAM: Kingston HyperX (KHX1600C9D3K3/6GX), I've put in 2 X 2GB in slot 1 and 3 atm.
HD: 1 Maxtor I, 1 Maxtor II (tried seperatly, no success)
Graphics: Powercolor radeon HD 6850 PCS+
PSU: OCZ ModXstream Pro, 600W

The files are loaded from the DVD, then I see the windows logo. After that I usually get a BSOD. Right before I have to do the settings and create partitions. Very rarely I can get past it and start the installation, but then a blue screen comes up anyway. When I try in Safe mode, it loads drivers until driver.sys. Then it just stops.

Right now, I've put only one memory stick in (2GB) and I tested it with memtest86+, there were no errors. I also checked the hard drive for errors. I was able to successfully install windows 2000 professional.
I also tried to install Windows XP, but that didn't work either. Could it be my graphics card? If so, what can I do about it. I don't have onboard graphics.
