Sending Emails Not Working
Feb 25, 2009
I can't seem to get the Windows Mail working. When I try to send an email, it states that I have an error with the servers. I used POP3 and SMTP. I just brought a new laptop and wanted to create an acct for Windows Mail. Also is asking for log in information.

Windows mail is not downloading from my pop3 account, when I first set it up it worked fine, now the emails are no longer being received, I've checked my email from the website itself so I know I have email to be downloaded. I do not get any error messages. When trying to send an email I get this error.....
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.
The rejected e-mail address was 'kimberlee1977@netzero.com'. Subject 'test', Account: 'netzero.com', Server: 'authsmtp.netzero.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '450 smtpout02.vgs.untd.com Authentication required', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 450, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

I receive the following error message everytime I send emails through my aapt account via Outlook or Windows Mail The rejected e-mail address was 'xxx@xxxx.com.au'. Subject 'Fw: Christmas Wishes.', Account: 'mail.aapt.net.au', Server: 'mail.aapt.net.au', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '554 5.7.1 : Client host rejected: (SPM:RAD) User account blocked from sending email due to policy violation -Please contact support', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 554, Error Number: 0x800CCC79
I have used aapt as my Service Provider for a few months. I was using Outlook to send and receive mails. Everything was working as expected. Then one day outlook stopped sending emails but it could receive emails. I contacted aapt and they told me they didn't support outlook only express and there was nothing they could do. So I changed from outlook to Windows mail. I completed the set up which was identical to outlook and again I received the same problem and error message.....

I have just started having problems sending emails, I am receiving my emails with no problems. I have even added the windows mail to be allowed through the firewall. I don't know if there was a windows update that has caused the problem since I have not had problems like this before. A window pops up stating....your server has unexpectedly terminated the connections. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or longer periods of inactivity. Error number 0x800CCCoF. My internet provides say there is no problem on their end and that it must be a firewall problem.

Subject 'Resume may 2010', Account: 'POP3', Server: 'POP3', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D" come up. I do not know how to set this up. What information do I put in the box where it ask what type of server my email address uses (ie. POP3,) and how do I find this information, and when I do how do I go back and put the correct information in.

Had no problems sending/receiving email on an att/bellsouth dsl account until I tried to set up windows mail to read an aol mail account. Now I am receiving this error message:
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Emailing: joel and deb 004, joel and deb 002, joel and deb 003', Account: 'joelhutcheson', Server: 'mail.bellsouth.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E I removed the new aol account from the windows mail accounts to see if that would fix the problem but it didn't. I also disabled my AVAST antivirus from scanning outgoing mail but that didn't help either.

Has anyone had problems with Windows Mail not working at all? It opens up and shows all my new and saved emails. After awhile I can no longer delete any emails. After yet another while, the entire thing goes blank and I can no longer see any of the emails much less send or receive any. I have contacted Dell three times and had them do remote troubleshooting, but it is still not functioning.

I recently signed up for a googlemail account, and can receive e-mails OK -
and sometimes when I send them it has worked, but now when I click on
"Send/Receive" it only checks the incoming mail and doesn't connect to the
outgoing server at all. The messages stay in my Outbox, and then when I
close Windows Mail I get a message asking whether I want to send them using
my default connection, I click "Yes", but it doesn't happen.

I can receive mail using Windows Mail, but not send - I get the following
error:
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Re: hello from Oz',
Account: 'Ruth Egerton', Server: 'smtp.tiscali.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Port:
25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10013, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
The account details are exactly as on my previous (Windows XP) laptop, so
I'm confident that is not the problem.
Windows Mail options tell me that Windows Mail is NOT the default mail
handler, but clicking the "Make Default" button has no apparent effect.
Running "Set Program Access and Computer Defaults" from Control Panel, I am
told that the default e-mail program is the current e-mail program, and am
not given any way of setting it to Windows Mail (or even told what program
Windows thinks IS the default).
I have MS Office 97 installed, but did not install Outlook. I saw somewhere
that Office thinks Outlook is the default mail program, whether it's there or
not.

At work we are wanting to send and receive faxes with our PC , we have no idea where to start or what we need. we have Vista basic so we have no fax and scan software so we need that too (recommendations)? we are currently connected to the internet via a broadband modem. i understand we need a fax modem? to connect to the phone line? will that connect along with our current broadband router? we are buying a printer/scanner/copier , we also want to be able to scan and fax documents using that but im assuming the software will take care of that? I am very computer savvy so you dont need to be too gentle Just point us in the right direction , ive done some googling but im very short on time today
