View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to send an email to a group I've set up with 60 contacts but mail won't let me send it. This is the error message I keep getting. The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.
The rejected e-mail address was 'footsteps@chrislong91.wanadoo.co.uk'. View 2 Replies View RelatedI had a probem a few days ago with my mail being pilfered from my server acct by WM. I got some brilliant advice about setting for a copy to be left on my server. That worked fabulously for the last few days but it has gone to hell this afternoon. Again my email server doesn't have a copy and my email has disappeared in WM without a trace. Any thoughts on how I can find my emails and make a permanent fix?

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn Windows XP, the Microsoft mail program would allow more that one e-mail address for a person. When you sent a e-mail, all the addresses would show before you sent the e-mail. In Vista, Microsoft Mail will allow you more than one address per person, but when I put the name in the "TO Box", only one address for that person shows up. In XP I could pick the address just before the e-mail was sent, but I can't seem to find a was to do it in Vista.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had Vista for several months and still can't figure out how to get addresses to show up when I start an e-mail. I am having to go to contacts and write the address some place, then copy it on to the e-mail. I have read that this Vista Mail can remember only 29 addresses, I think. If I have not used an address for a time, just HOW do I get it without having to go to so much TROUBLE? Sometimes there is a drop-down from which I can choose, but not always. It is very frustrating and just a pain after using Outlook Express where you had only to type in a letter or two to get the address you wanted.

Is there a way in windows mail or any other mail to make a group of contacts to which I can send an email message to all of the contacts in that group without the receiver seeing to whoever i send the email. Because when i just select all my contacts and mail them they all see who i sent the email to. I just want to be able to send an email to a lot off people whitout a huge list of receivers in every mail.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm noticing some inconsistencies in quoting behaviour when choosing Reply to Group with Windows Mail. I believe I've seen some references to this elsewhere, but can't find a resolution. For example, I will read a post, where the original poster used the Google web interface to create and post his message. When I choose Reply to Group, the original post is properly quoted and all is well.
By this I mean that the previous post will have a marker, the default being >, and more are added for each level of reply. The poster replies to my reply, again using the Google interface, with proper quoting appearing for the two previous messages. But now, I choose Reply to Group again - and the text I'm immediately replying to is not quoted. Yet I notice that others using Outlook Express can reply with the quoting intact, and I can reply to them with the quoting appearing properly. Restarting Windows Mail does not resolve this.

Cant this news group be set up to refuse mail from this name. Im not critical really I just dont understand, with all the technology today, surely the moderator has the power to stop his eamil address. And if he creates a new one put it in. Ive neverrun a news group so I may be in the dark.
My second question is perhaps more phylisophical. I dont get what he is doing, I mean the messages are stupid. At least if they are ads for drugs I get it he is selling something but, these messages I just dont get ?? What is the point of it all. I hope Im not focusing too much attention on this I just dont get these two questions. Its amazing how one guy can be such a fool?? I flag it as spam but no one seems to do anything about it??
I use Windows mail for my e-mail and news group access. When I access my comcast e-mail (where all the info is correctly entered and stored in the account setup) I have no problem. When I try to access my newsgroup (where all my info is correctly entered and stored in the account setup) a Windows Security window pops up, displays my Vista PC administrator symbol and asks me for a user name and password to access the newsgroup account. I enter the correct info and Windows Security screen will not accept it. I had never ever been asked for a user name and password by a Windows Security Pop Up before and it doesn't ask me for that info on my e-mail.
