Sticky Keys, Screen Image Shrinks?
Apr 18, 2009As I am entering info my computer just randomly opens a new blank browser page, or the screen image shrinks, or the font changes in an email. Doesn't happen all the time. The "T" key seems to be the problem because it quits functioning until I click on the point where I was typing. This is a real problem since T is a commonly used letter and it is part of my name so it comes up in login situations. There might be other letters involved but this one is the most noticeable. Is it a sticky key problem?

Mar 23, 2008I just noticed today that when I try to run the Snipping Tool, I get this
error:
THE SNIPPING TOOL IS NOT WORKING ON YOUR COMPUTER RIGHT NOW. RESTART YOUR COMPUTER, AND THEN TRY AGAIN. IF THE PROBLEM PERSISTS, CONTACT YOUR SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR.
I've been running Vista Ultimate for about a year now, and installed SP1 this week.
Restarting doesn't fix, I've also tried adding/removing the TABLET PC OPTIONAL COMPONENTS in the Windows Features On/Off control panel. This doesn't help. I even went to the extreme of uninstalling SP1 to no avail.
I also notice that I get the same error as above with Sticky Notes:

WINDOWS JOURNAL CANNOT START. THERE WAS AN ERROR INITIALIZING INKING
COMPONENTS.
The ONLY function in the Tablet PC that works is Tablet PC Input Panel. Well it runs, but neither of the TOOLS or HELP pull down menus work.
I've seen others with the same Snipping Tool error while searching google, but never found a fix. For some people they had to reinstal the whole OS, but even then the errors came back after a while.
Poor Sound Quality And Sticky Videos
Jan 28, 2009I just bought a new 64 bit computer with 4GB RAM and 3.1 GHz AMD Athlon64 AM2 Dual Core 6000+. Also got Windows Vista Home Premium 64 Bit. But my problem is that the sound is awful, it sounds like tapes in a cassette player when the batteries are running down, with added dropouts and crackles, especially when I minimise the media player when playing audio files, (i've tiried WMP, VLC, Zoom and WinAmp). Any videos I stream on the net also sound like this. AVI's also have poor sound quality and can also be "sticky" the picture not running smoothly.
My soundcard is fine, i've run different ones on the machine and they all sound like this, my amp, cables and speakers are working perfectly too. I never use more than 1.5GB RAM and about 20% of the CPU according to TaskManager.
Sticky Notes Mistakenly Deleted From All Programs
Feb 21, 2009I got myself into a little predicament. I was messing around dragging sticky note off the start menu and onto "objectdock" (if you know about it it's like the mac os dock for vista). So, from here to there I end up deleting it from the all programs menu but I still have the shortcuts. How can I restore the original shortcut the used to be in all programs menu? The program still runs and everything but I just want it back in the menu

Jul 8, 2008Since I added the PSU and V. Card I've had a situation I can't resolve. Five minutes after the screen saver starts The HDD is "turned off"??? No matter what I try, I've had it set to "never" to its current 5000 Minutes. I've tried several different power plans, all with no joy! The only way to resolve it is with a hard shutdown (unplug)! I never had this problem with any of the installs; just after the hardware additions.

have gone mental.
They replace shortcuts and after a reboot the non-working/"bad" keys change so its a different set of letters.
Sometimes F will open find computer while other times it wont,and sometimes L will lock the pc while other times it wont.
Ive unistalled,reinstalled,updated the drivers.Restored the system to two days ago.
Check all language settings.
Stuck Arrow Keys
Aug 15, 2009As I am working on the computer (Sony VAIO Laptop)(Windows Vista Home Edition), I hit the arrow key several times. Doesn't really matter which one, the result is the same. Just for argument sake, lets say I hit the left arrow key several times. The computer will act as if the key is stuck, and will scroll to the left. Using the up and down arrow keys, I can go up or down with out a problem. When I hit the right arrow button, I don't go to the right. The only way I can "unstick" the left arrow button is to hit again.
This issue happens with all the arrow keys, so I figure that perhaps it is a preference somewhere in Vista. I thought it might be the stickys, but I checked and they are off.
Recover Lost Keys
Mar 26, 2008I have moved and have lost my cd key for both Vista 32 and 64 bit. I still have the media just not the CD-Key. I was apart of the beta and was send both copies with the cdkeys. Is there a lookup tool or an email address that I can use to try and recover my two cd-keys?

Apr 13, 2008I am running windows Vista 32 bit, and everything was working great until I uninstalled Norton 360. Following uninstall, my DVD drive no longer worked (I corrected that issue) and my network no longer works. I am wired into a router, and also wireless on the same computer. Bother worked well, until the uninstall. Now, I can't even see the router, even though I'm wired to it. The wireless connection successfully connects to the router (or so it seems), but also cannot see the router.I suspect there is a registry error (or key corruption), but cannot find which keys are corrupt.Has anyone ever had this problem? Again, I corrected the DVD issue, but cannot identify the network issue.

Oct 3, 2008is there a way to make a script on your G15 keys for the different options on your Nano Suit? Hopefully there is or you guys can point me to the right direction. Right now, I am using the "ALT" key to open up the Suit Menu and from there, I pick my mouse to the different choices you have (Strenght, Armor, Cloak, Speed or Weapon) but, in a heated battle, I would love to use some of the other key my G15 has for a quick use of any of these choices w/o wasting valuable time. I could do with the Sci-Fi Alien part of the game or the need to hit the KPA a few times before they die, but for the most part, the game is fun and it makes for a good laugh when you try to kill a KPA from a distance with the suppressor.

Cannot Read Registry Keys Activiation
Feb 6, 2009I have a program that worked successfully for quite some time and just recently it stopped working. I tracked it down to a reading of a registry key located in HKLMSoftware where I get an error from the Win32 API `RegOpenKeyEx' which returns with a value of 2 (that is to say there is no such entries). But there is such an entry so this is very puzzling.What is happening? Why was it working before and not now? The same program works fine under another vista machine which is more or less configured the same way.Of course disabling UAC works but that's out of the question.

Jul 7, 2008I type about 40 words per minute, but when typing on my home computer it does not enter all the keys that I hit. It is no particular key but more like there is a micro-second stall in the computer somehow that prevent the keyboard stroke from being recognized. I notice it most while using internet explorer probably because that is what I use most, but have had it happen while using other programs. After typing a page or so, I look to the screen to find a dozen or so misspelled words due to this problem. I have Windows Vista as the operating system.

It is the official sticker with 5 groups of 5 letters and numbers. However, I ran SIW to check the numbers and they are different! What if I ever need this key? I guess the one SIW gives me is right but I don't know how to proceed. Have you heard of this? Is the one inside Windows from SIW correct? Here's what Brink posted on his tutorial. I followed these directions to check product key. It's not the product ID in control panel>system....that would be my first thought.
