View 5 RepliesI have a HP Touchsmart PC, running Vista x64 and using Internet Explorer 8. Recently we had a malware virus which was successfully removed by the computer technician. Everything is back to normal and when we run a virus scan it is now all clean. However, when we are on the internet the mouse now can't click with the left button
on websites and we can't use the left button to click to navigate around the site. The only temporary way I have found (which is very difficult and limiting) is to right click on the site and scroll up to "Open" or click on the site with the left button and hit "enter" which sometimes works.
I have replaced the mouse and ensured all the mouse setting are correct. This problem doesn't happen in emails only on Internet Explorer.
My Vista Explorer (desktop) experienced a problem and closes after which it re-opens, and then closes again. It carry on indefinitely so I cannot do any thing on my PC. Take note - it is not IE!

Do someone know another small program to allow me that?
my acer 5335 is brand new and has vista basic. when i first connected to the internet i installed all available updates including explorer 8 and vista service pack 2. i also downloaded avg anti virus and sunbelt firewall. the problem i have is that some links in some sites will not open at all, some need a right click to select 'open' from the menu, and others open as they should with just a single left click. examples, on my hotmail page, mails will open with a single left click, but the reply or new mail controls will not respond to right or left.
i can left click to view details of cars from the listings, but if i want to view the extra pictures i need to right click and select open. google search works fine and most forum sites as i've been looking for a fix have been ok too. the having to right click isn't too much of a problem but not being able to reply to mail is going to be a pain.
I recently switched from IE7 to FireFox 3(Should have done it A LOT sooner!!!). I love the program except for one thing. In the Vista Start Menu when I click on my email button it still opens with IE7. Is there a way to fix this so that it uses FireFox instead?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've come across an annoying bug with Vista, occassionally when I left click on an item I get the delete prompt on the selected item. The bug is unpredictable and happens and then goes away. I will just be working left click and the permission dialog to delete pops up. Left click NO on the permission dialog recalls the delete function and starts a vicions loop that seems to fail after a large number of NO clicks. It also seems to occur when a higlight is made to select a menu item.

View 5 Replies View RelatedNot terribly important (I can liev with black & white icons), but annoyance indeed and only started recently. It does NOT affect WindowsExplorer/Filemanager icons for folders, files, etc. Those have been and are fine 100%. Just the mouse right-click, now shows weird black&white icons, icons themselves are OK, colors are not. Difficult to see quickly what to click as I used to know by color what is what. For example right-click on empty space in Windows Explorer and select "new text Document" - the icon for it is a very bleak, black & whit eone. Use to be vivid greenish/bluish.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIf I try to right click and do "new->shortcut" on either desktop or in explorer, nothing happens at all and I do not know why.
Posts on other forums suggest there is something wrong with how vista works with .lnk attribute but I cant make any sense of it. And I will not try out the registry hack that is suggested as I do not know what it does.
My only hope atm is if any of you are familiar with the very same issue and know a way to correct this behaviour.
This involves my HP Pavilion dv9000t notebook with Vista Ultimate OS, & HP OfficeJet H470wbt (Bluetooth) printer. I am able to install the printer successfully. However, whenever I attempt to print anything I get a window stating: "Spooler Subsystem App stopped working and was closed". This happens both in Bluetooth & USB connection.
I have wasted my time dealing w/ HP support for almost a year. HP says the problem is with my OS. Per their instructions I even performed a complete recovery on my notebook & reinstalled everything back 6 times & my LapTop has been back to HP for warranty work twice. Nothing HP did or recommended has worked. The 1st new printer was returned & I was given a new one in exchange. Still the problem persists.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have vista home basic. My computer is a compaq presario sr2170nx. The last couple days I have been getting the following message when I right click on icons on my desktop or click on quick launch icons: Windows explorer has stopped working. It gives me the option to restart or search online for a solution. either one causes the icons in the system tray to go away and then reappear. this doesn't happen when i right click on folders on the desktop but any icons for applications it will. Also any icons in those folders will do the same thing. I have virus scanned with nothing found. I am currently scanning with adaware although i don't think it will find anything either. I have downloaded a few programs recently to convert portions of a dvd to mpeg for a class I'm taking but nothing else out of the ordinary.
