When I ran Vista x86 Ultimate, I installed a small program that allowed me to double-click with middle mouse button. Now, with Vista x64 Ultimate, it doesn't work anymore.
Do someone know another small program to allow me that?
I have a HP Touchsmart PC, running Vista x64 and using Internet Explorer 8. Recently we had a malware virus which was successfully removed by the computer technician. Everything is back to normal and when we run a virus scan it is now all clean. However, when we are on the internet the mouse now can't click with the left button
on websites and we can't use the left button to click to navigate around the site. The only temporary way I have found (which is very difficult and limiting) is to right click on the site and scroll up to "Open" or click on the site with the left button and hit "enter" which sometimes works.
I have replaced the mouse and ensured all the mouse setting are correct. This problem doesn't happen in emails only on Internet Explorer.
My start button no longer responds to my mouse click. Any ideas what I can do to restore this so I can get into my start menu?
View 5 Replies View Relatedwhen i upgraded to SP2 my start button stopped responding to my mouse click. i tried goin back to SP1 but it still didnt work? when i try to right-click on the start orb it comes up but with three black rows at the bottom of the right-click menu? i had to download that "Vista Start Menu" just to use it again but i'd rather have the normal start menu.

If I move my mouse fast it also locks up from time to time. Sometimes it locks up for like 5 seconds or so. When it locks up I can hear the system shut the port on and off because I hear the ding. It also happens frequently when I pick up the mouse to move it.
I have quad 2.4 intel.
4gb ram
Vista ultimate 32 bit
mx510 through USB.
Mouse seems to work on my laptop and other desktop and both are XP. I d/led the newest drivers for the 510 and I have scoured the net for info on my problem.

View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I'm working in Internet Explorer, the right mouse button will randomly stop working. Also, when this happens, new windows that open automatically from the webpage or new tabs in the window do not load anything at all. Only IE suffers from this malady--all other programs function as they should. The only fix I have found for this is to perform a system restore. This fixes the problem temporarily, but after repeated use, IE does the same thing over again. I've restored my system dozens of times now, with no end in sight. Possible solutions?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe actual question regards IE8. I just recently came back to IE8, and I got into the habit of hitting the center mouse button on my daily 3 favorites folders. Each one opens maybe= 6 web pages. The trouble is it opens each page two or more times. ie: If there= were only one page in the folder and I used the center mouse button to open = that single page, it might open that page 2 or 3 times with the single click.
I browsed one page of IE8 bugs, and found nothing on this. So how do I = get it to stop at opening just the single links in each favorite folder only = once ? The title above. This appeared as a price for support. I've bought cars = that cost less. Is anyone actually paying for support from a telemarketer in = India at these prices ? I spent an entire day online with support with someone I could barely
understand, and never got the problem fixed awhile back.
Built a new PC a few days ok. first day went fine. Today ive been experiencing freezes every 2 hours or so but my mouse can still move across the screen. I cant click on anything but it can move.

Heck, I even have to do that just to empty the recycle bin. That's incredibly a pain in the butt.

View 5 Replies View RelatedNot terribly important (I can liev with black & white icons), but annoyance indeed and only started recently. It does NOT affect WindowsExplorer/Filemanager icons for folders, files, etc. Those have been and are fine 100%. Just the mouse right-click, now shows weird black&white icons, icons themselves are OK, colors are not. Difficult to see quickly what to click as I used to know by color what is what. For example right-click on empty space in Windows Explorer and select "new text Document" - the icon for it is a very bleak, black & whit eone. Use to be vivid greenish/bluish.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have been having major problems with Vista for the past 10 days. It seemed to start after 2 updates on May 13th and I spent several hours on the phone with Microsoft on May 18th and things seemed better - the remaining problem is that the system locks up after a period of inactivity - usually and hour or two. It has also locked with a backup program running and thus fails to complete the backup. Each of the following errors seem to re-appear in the event log each time
the system locks -
Event ID 45 - volmgr ??? the system could not load the crash dump driver
Event ID 7000 ??? Service Control Manager Event Log Provider - The Parallel
port driver service failed to start due to the following error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.
Event ID 6008 - Event Log System - The previous system shutdown at 9:41:14 AM on 5/22/2008 was unexpected. I have to shut down using the power button and restart.

After spending a lot of time trying to find a solution, here is the way I have solve the problem. Now the sidebar is just working fine. This behavior is observed if the XML registration is missing in the system. To fix the problem, use the following steps:
* Close Windows Sidebar. To do so, right-click on the Sidebar icon in the Notification area and click Exit
* Open an elevated Command Prompt window. To do so, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
* In the Command Prompt window, type the following and press ENTER:

View 4 Replies View RelatedI know this is a Vista forum, but I do not see any Windows 7 forums. This has carried through a number of recent builds of Win7 and now is in the RC, 7100 build. Not sure if this is a change in functionality or a bug. If you want to copy the profile of a local user, you can login to the PC (Vista and earlier) as the local Administrator, go to System Properties > User Profiles, choose a user's profile, then click the Copy To button to copy that profile to another profile. In Win7, the Copy To button is grayed out when you choose another user's profile. All you can choose from is Change Type or Delete.

View 8 Replies View RelatedEach time I attempt a right click to access the context menu Windows Explorer crashes. This is true whether I use Explorer or PowerDesk Pro 7 as my file manager. As a result I am unable to zip files, rename files or run executables as the Administrtor. The error message I get is simply that "Windows Explorer has stopped working." I suspected that possibly Norton 360 was the culprit, but I disabled Norton 360 and the problem persists. I believe this problem did not start until I installed Vista's SP1. I am running Vista Home Premium on a powerful MicroExpress machine with ample RAM.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a question about the toolbar though. With previous versions of windows I could fill up the toolbar with open windows and just click on the one I wanted. Now in Vista it will only show me 2 open windows at a time in the tool bar. If I have 3 or more open I have to click on the up or down arrow to find them and then click on them. Is there any way to have more than 2 windows show on the toolbar. This would be for separate applications so the grouping option won't help me here.
