Erasing E-mail Blocked On Exit Box?
Apr 16, 2008I didn't find any mean for erasing an e-mail blocked on the exit box. This results on total blocked exit-deliveries for any other e-mail.

View 4 RepliesI'm cross-posting because these 2 problems appeared at the same time (after installing a lot of Windows XP application software) and may be related. I am thinking of laboriously going back through a lot of restore points, but would prefer some insight as to exactly what happened. Windows Vista Ultimate on a Dell D830 with McAfee virus and e-mail protection. For the first week or so, neither problem was present.
(1) Windows Mail (winmail.exe) does not terminate its process when I exit. Thus I can't launch it again unless I either log out and log in again, or manually kill the process. Temporarily turning off McAfee e-mail scanning does not affect this.
(2) Whenever I delete anything from the desktop (whether my own desktop or the All Users desktop), Explorer hangs with a message like "Recycling 1 item...". I hit Cancel and the message box becomes unresponsive. I can still delete items from the desktop using Command Prompt and perhaps also in other ways.
When I open my Windows Mail, it is forever receiving Mail and I cannot send or receive?

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe manufacturer of my PC provided me with a New Imaged Hard drive. My old drive was working fine except it had some pre-installed software on it that could not be removed and could cause conflicts. The manufactiurer wants the old Hard drive returned. The old drive has some senitive personal information on it so I am reluctant just to pack it up and return it.
I have done some research about how to wipe off all information on a Hard drive before donating a PC, etc......but all I have read is very complicated and I am not comfortable in proceedding following any of the processes. Keeping in mind, I am not erasing the Hard drive with my PC's OS on it, (although the Old drive still has an OS on it). I can connect the OLD drive as a 2nd Internal drive....and than proceed to Wipe it Clean before returning it.
Surely there must be an easy, simple process for someone with limited computer knowledge to wipe a 2nd Internal Hard drive clean of all data so that no one could access any information off that drive....
I am looking for the recommendation of utilty erasing data from harddrive. I need the utilty which: 1. Will NOT stop on errors (disk write errors) but it will continue until all disk is done or 2. Will allow me to choose sectors to overwrite.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am having tons of issues with my pc (vista home premium). I think the registry might be corrupted. No one seems to know how to remedy the problems. I was thinking about using the recovery dvd's for my laptop. i use this pc for work and have thousands of email, onenote, vpn....etc. i understand this will erase my hard drive and one of the problems i am having is "windows back up" doesnt work (ironic)... is there some sort of way i can back up my computer then reinstall vista(use recovery dvd) and transfer that backup to my laptop. If i create an image with back up software will that just reinstall all the corrupted files (registry..etc)...is there anyway to reinstall vista without erasing the hard drive?

View 5 Replies View RelatedAlmost every time I turn on my laptop and log into my account a screen comes up saying something along the lines of Thank You For Validating Windows. This takes up the whole screen and I cannot exit unless I press OK. After my desktop is fully loaded a message comes up saying that Windows Aero has stopped working, you may be a victim of counterfeiting. There is then a link which takes me to Genuine Microsoft Software. I then run the validation test and pass. Also sometimes there is a message in white writing in the corner of my desktop which says:

This copy of Windows is not genuine. My Vista Ultimate is 100% genuine.
Error check on my HP Laptop that has vista home edition. for some reason it froze at 4% in the first stage (1 of 5), at this point i was able to exit the error check by pressing Escape, i went on and defragmented my computer next and did various virus and spyware cleanups, then i decided to do the error check again, this time the same thing happened but now i am unable to exit the error check. so my question is: is there anything i can do on my own or should i send it in to a professional?

I have tried to set the program so that emails I have sent to delete are GONE (deleted) automatically when I exit the program. I have gone into Tools, Options, Advanced and Maintenance and checked the box that allaows for the automatically deletion of emails. I check the box but it does not stay checked and the program does not do what I want it to do.

It seems that I'm not the only one who had the Windows Sidebar no longer working after installing the new release of Internet Explorer. After spending a lot of time trying to find a solution, here is the way I have solve the problem. Now the sidebar is just working fine. This behavior is observed if the XML registration is missing in the system. To fix the problem, use the following steps:
* Close Windows Sidebar. To do so, right-click on the Sidebar icon in the Notification area and click Exit
* Open an elevated Command Prompt window. To do so, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
* In the Command Prompt window, type the following and press ENTER:
My Son's computer was working yesterday and this morning he can't surf using IE 8 or Firefox. It appears Port 80 is being blocked. I have disabled the firewall temporarily and this did not resolve the issue. I did the "netsh winsock reset" and this did not fix the problem. I have reset my router with no change. I am able to ping the DNS, the Default router and his IP address within the command window. I can also ping yahoo.com, google.com within the command window, but can't reach them with either browser. He did not have System Restore enabled, so I can't use that as a solution. Can the group recommend some options for me to try? He is using Vista Home Premium, and a wireless card. I can also see ALL GREEN when I open up the Network Sharing tool. There is a green line between his IP and the Wireless Card and green line between the Wireless Card and the Internet.

The computer is only meant to play music when we have parties and such, so I have made a normal account, besides the administrator account, that people can use. I wondered if it is possible to block the Realtek program in a way so people can't use it/screw the settings up but so it will still be able to run at startup?

I think I need to change the permissions of the program in order to get this to work, but am not sure of what the correct approach is to doing this. What setting do I need to change and how do I get them to lock in. I am also running this program in XP compatibility mode if that makes a difference. I am the sole user/administrator of this PC.

When I put the mouse pointer on any of the links a box pops up showing the link but with "blocked:: at the beginning. When I click on the link I get the following error box: "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Creat an association in the Set Associations control panel". None of this makes any sense. Disabling my antivirus/spyware had no effect, and the same message was ok on another computer.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI login remotely to 3 servers, and if I choose 5 clients. I have full administrator rights. Suddenly, I am not able to remote into Client 01( Windows Vista). Our MS Pro says someone or something has blocked or locked :3389 and he does not know how to either rebuild it or fix it. The client, is a fairly new Dual Core Vista Machine and I was logging into it just fine, until...A major Software program was installed, and certain permissions were accessed (I do not know which ones). Then it blocked me. It is locked or blocked. We can't seem to find the one thing we need to get it back. The permissions pertained to multiple users ,using the same program on our application Server. No one, including the MS Pro would have purposely shut that port down. What I am looking at from my out of town side is: A BRICK. It Says: Connectiveity to the Remote Computer could not be established. Ensure that the remote computer is on and connected to the Small Business Server network.
