I use Vista and Windows Mail on my home PC. I use Windows Mail for all my email. I want to access my email from other computers. I have tried Tool/Accounts/My email acct/Properties/Advanced and putting a check next to "leave a copy on the server" but I still can't get access on my ISP email site. I have only tried to do it from my home PC, but shouldn't it work from there?

It forces me to change my email address to their default address at hotmail. There is no place for "other" and the ability to type in my own.

I am then asked if I want to go online, in which case I have to click the button that says try again. This also happened with Internet Explorer, but Talktalk managed to fix that by removing a tick in the box for working offline. They are unable to fix the email error. I would like to be able to go directly to the email inbox whenever I start the computer. What do I have to do?

Just today I activated Windows Mail and now all my email from Comcast is coming into Windows Mail, which is what I wanted, but now my Comcast email is empty. So I guess all my email is just being re-directed. My question is when I am not at my computer but on a public computer, how can I access my email? I normally just log onto Comcast.net and go to my email but now none of my mail is in there? Did I do something wrong during set-up? Can I fix this? Or is this just the way it is.

This email server is domain controller and we have one more file server which is windows server 03 joins in the domain. After upgraded the server, all of the User PC & email server cannot access or see share folders of another PC & email server each other except the email server can be able to access some windows vista PC. But all of the PC & servers (include email & filer server) can access file server share folders. Could you tell me which setting in server is wrong that cause this problem?
View 8 Replies View RelatedInstalled Vista Ultimate 64 bit over the weekend, dual booting with my XP Pro install, so far I am finding myself liking it more and more. I have set up newsgroups in windows mail, and email access. I really like some of the features of windows mail versus the older Outlook Express, especially the calendar feature, and the spellcheck included. I use Outlook 2002 ( from Office XP ) on my XP Pro install, mainly for the calendar feature, so was pleased to see this included in windows mail. Not going to try to install Office XP on my Vista, as I understand there would be issues with that. I think what I have with Windows Mail though, will serve me ok.
I see where another program, Windows Live Mail is available as well. I checked on the link I found, and really did not see a lot about it. What is the general consensus here, is the Windows Live Mail program much better than the included windows mail program? I don't really understand what the differences are here.
I try to access folders under my name (set up as administrator), most of the time I get access denied. It is driving me nuts. I want to change the start menu and get rid of a bunch of garbage but I can't enter the folder to do so. When I use the start menu program, it only has a few basic folders. This happens frequently, even when trying to view pictures or video in the folder. What do I need to change to remove this very annoying problem?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have my laptop connecting to a server under AD control. My laptop is not joined to AD by design. I set up some files using 'Sync' to have them available to me offline. My AD password has since changed and I cannot connect to the server to have access to other files set up for offline access. When I attempt to remap the drive, I get an error stating I am already connected using the credentials provided. This is not true, since I cannot access the server. What do I need to do to fix this problem?

He was setting the parental controls and managed to control his account which had admin access. the user listing has the account listing as an admin but he only has standard user access. His was the "only" admin account.. While he was doing this he managed to deny access to the boot drive. The drive reads as "Access Denied". The machine boots up and a person can play games etc.. but network access is restricted.

It's all fine, but I want to (easily & quickly!) restrict & control when some laptops can access the internet while allowing free access to the server. View 4 Replies View RelatedI ran Spybot S&D, got rid of any viruses it got and Mallware Bytes, again, removed everything. Even ran McAfee and got rid of whatever. But each time i run the scan on Spybot S&D it finds site that redirect me. I press fix selected items but it responds by saying "cannot access hosts file. Access is denied" I tried to untick the "protect hosts file form hijackers" in IE tweaks but keeps getting checked. On top of that the Hosts file is missing.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI keep getting these spam emails from random valid email addresses telling me I have X amount of dollars waiting for me in a online casino. Every time i delete and block the emails address i get another from another email address generated. Its obviously spyware, I have run AVG and spybot and it hasnt fixed the problem. I cant adjust my spam filters cause sometimes theres important emails which get IDd as SPAM by accident. Is there anyway to fix this?

However the folder for email is now on his desktop, and is called Old Email backup. I know that one of these days he is going to delete it and wonder where his email went. What is the default folder it should have created the email in? I will move it there.

Control panel default settings will not allow option to disable Windows Mail. (grayed out). Register Hotmail software says only Vista but I am using Vista. But if I do a select all the blank space turns blue as if something is there. When I get mail from ex. USAJobs, the entire body of the email is blank. Some others the text directing me to "having trouble viewing this email click here" and then it takes me to their website. I have the block pics box unchecked and I am running vista with PCTools Spyware doctor. Also email from friends and family the pictures show up with no problems. The only problem I am having is from commercial sites. And yes I even added them to my allow list.

I now have a brand new HP m9100z and can not get email to work at all. My other machine is an HP s3123w aka "slimline". Both run windows vista home premium. On the slimline, email works just fine. On the new machine, nadda. Zip, zero. Can not get email to work using any client I have.
Thunderbird, windows mail, forte agent, all say "login failed". Even though both machines are setup exactly the same. The difference in the two machines is that the new one now has a wifi card and dual ntsc tuners. My domain works fine through browsers so I can get email through the website. Just can't do it on this machine. So what tricks can I try to get email to work?
