I have a school outlook email system. Trying to use mail but cant seem to access it. Can someone tell me where to find the relevent information to create a POP3 or IMAP mail account? I dont know which one i should use.

Problem is that i want to use microsoft Outlook but i can't transfer/export my email accounts from Vista Windows mail to Microsoft Outlook or even outlook express for XP. I have forgotten 3 critical passwords so I cannot recreate the email accounts in Outlook....
How can I export my email accounts to microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express from Vista Windows mail?

However the folder for email is now on his desktop, and is called Old Email backup. I know that one of these days he is going to delete it and wonder where his email went. What is the default folder it should have created the email in? I will move it there.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having a problem with my MS Office suite 2003 on my new PC (Belarc analysis below). Two issues that have been coming up for me are that my email settings in Outlook won't allow me to bring in my email (IMAP/SMTP set up) and the second is that any time I try to change my office assistant it keeps telling me I don't have enough memory (!). What's going on with this? After all, this is a 3 GB machine, things that worked on my 1 GB shouldn't have a problem.
I use a Verizon DSL connection.

I know that Google offers browser-based newsgroup review and posting, but its interface is far from the convenience of a traditional newsreader such as Windows Mail, Outlook Express etc. Does anyone know of a way to get around this and access a server by a something like Windows Mail?

Can't access outlook 2003 (it just hangs, just like when I try to install / remove software). I can't use the restore programmes either (Just hangs as above). This all stated when a red cross appeared on my networking icon in the bottom right of the screen.
I have tried to down load registry checkers but as above, they can't install. I can still access the internet and use all my adobe software, all office except outlook and use the internet. Has anyone else seen this?

I have called my isp and they tell me all my setting are correct. I have called so many time they know my voice now but they still can't get it to work. I have an HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop with Windows Vista x64 and MS Office 2007 Outlook. I've spent hours w/ HP and AT&T tech support, but can't resolve the problems (Email & %APPDATA%). HP wants me first to restore my laptop to its originally shipped configuration (I'd prefer not to if I can) and AT&T wants $99 for advanced support.
View 7 Replies View RelatedFacing problems regarding searching email in Microsoft Outlook. I think this is due to Indexing. I have tried to rebuild the Indexing but it shows 0 item indexed all the time. Now my questions are as below:
1) How much time it takes to rebuild the Indexing ? My approx. MS Outlook .pst file size is around 2.8 GB.
2) i had a virus called warm.silly.nisan in SeachProtocolHost.exe. Does this effect indexing or searching email in MS Outlook ?
3) I was stressed due to this problem and tryied to "rebuild" Indexing but it was taking more than 24 hrs and so i went to Indexing options in Control panel and then in advance options i did "Restore Defaults". Which also took to much time and all the times it shows "o items indexed". Can anyone tell me what is the acually problem in indexing ?
4) Do this indexing has any relation with "regedit". If yes then what are the files in regedit i have to check and for what parameters.?
Outlook Express won't send my email MOST of the time. Occasionally it will send it but most of the time it just goes to my out box and just sits there. Eventually, it goes but sometimes it's hours later or even the next day. I had Norton but got rid of it (with their uninstall tool) and now have AVG. The error messages I get vary but usually say something about not being able to connect with the server or the server unexpectedly terminating the connection.

You can get all of the email account setup information from your emailprovider, usually your ISP (Internet Service Provider). They should have a webpage on their support site for how to setup and email account in Outook Express with full instructions on how to do it. Windows Mail uses the same settings. If you can tell us who your email provider is, someone should be able to post a link to their email account setup instructions webpage for you.

Sending' reported error (0x80042109) : 'Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' i have tried to change my account settings but to no avail. 'my outgoing server requires authentication' is on.
When I have internet explorer open I used to be able to click on the upper right hand side of the screen in the little mail icon and outlook would open. Now when I click on it nothing happens. The only way to get to my email now is to click on the bottom left hand side, start and scroll up to email. Has a setting been changed?

View 8 Replies View RelatedWhile using XP Outlook Express, I was able to add the account for my online school, Walden University. Everything still worked fine even after I upgraded my computer from XP to Vista. Now the school has changed their email program to be some kind of eCampus. I followed their instructions for adding an account to Outlook Express and was told that they should be the exact same for Vista Windows Mail. However, when I set up the account, before I can send and receive, I get a user verification screen where I have to type in my user name and password. This screen just shows up repeatedly even though I know I am using the right user name and password. I finally hit cancel and receive an error that my email could not complete execution to send and retrieve email messages for that account.
It is set as a POP account. I don't know if there is a problem with Vista compatibility, or a problem since I still have dialup and not highspeed, or if the school is wrong with their instructions for adding an account. I can provide more specific information regarding all the settings if anyone thinks they can help me. I am extremely frustrated with this since I have been able to view my school emails through my personal email account for years. Now I have to login to the school webpage and check my emails via a different link. I know it doesn't sound like that big of a deal, but the convenience factor right now is huge in my little world.
Can receive emails via Windows email/Outlook but cant send them, problems with the outgoing server, changed the ports to all advised still nothing.
