Toolbar Colors Did Change
May 11, 2009Well it seems very simple but I kind stuck on this, so I need help to have my colors and appearnace back in Windows Vista Premium. For some reason the colors of the menu and the taskbar did change. To make it easy look at the attached screen shot of this.

I HATE the ribbons, period? I LOVED the nice, neat, useful, and tiny toolbars I created and edited in the 2003 programs and this 'RIBBON' thing is the most obnoxious thing ever! I REALLY fell bad for those laptop dudes and dudettes, especially the 15" (or smaller) screens. I have a nice, new, big 19" and I find the useless and extravagant space requirements for the "Ribbon" (who came up with that one, anyway?) EXTREMELY ANNOYING..............

Mar 23, 2008I need to change the display filename colors in Vista Windows Explorer similar to the MAC O/S Feature. This question does NOT deal with Encrypted Files or Compressed Files. I simply want to change the display names of the files to colors such as BLUE, GREY, etc., just like I can do on the MAC O/S for the past 5 years.
I do NOT want to use any third party software file managers. There must be a way to do it in Windows since APPLE has been doing it for 60 months now. I can't believe that Windows STILL Cannot perform this simple task! If you have a working solution using Windows Explorer please email me and let me know.
Toolbar With Open Windows And Click
Jul 30, 2008I have a question about the toolbar though. With previous versions of windows I could fill up the toolbar with open windows and just click on the one I wanted. Now in Vista it will only show me 2 open windows at a time in the tool bar. If I have 3 or more open I have to click on the up or down arrow to find them and then click on them. Is there any way to have more than 2 windows show on the toolbar. This would be for separate applications so the grouping option won't help me here.

Mar 10, 2009I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium on my computer and just recently I lost my Quick Launch toolbar. I tried re-activating it by right clicking on the toolbar area and selecting it from properties but nothing happens. Tried rebooting the computer as well and nothing. It seems it totally erased from my system. Now, I read through some of the other posts before and saw that going back to a previous restore point would work for most people but my computer wont let me, it gives me the "unspecified error" thing every time. I'm running Norton 2008 on my PC and I saw that for some other person that was the issue. how they fixed their problem. How exactly or what exactly did you disactivate from your Norton to allow for the restore point option to work?

Jul 14, 2008Windows Photo Gallery doesnt display the proper colors in pictures and I can't figure out why. At first, I figured it was just a flaw somewhere adn I didn't worry too much about it because everything else looked fine. Just the photo gallery was messed up. Then, I replaced my geforce 7600 with a newer 8800 gts and reinstalled my OSs fresh for my annual clean up and same thing. Photo Gallery displays goofy colors. I'll provide an attachment for details. May 25, 2008I love Age of Empires 2 (I own the Conquerors Expansion, Gold Edition). Only problem is that I recently got Windows Vista and have been experiencing these three problems:
1) The colors sometimes get messed up and the graphics become skewed. The most noticable example of this is when the grass becomes mixed with red blotches.
2) I'm having trouble connecting online with other players, regardless of their operating systems. My friends and I used to quickly and easily connect together but now the systems (mine and theirs) tend to crash.
3)Regular crashes about an hour or two into playing

Nov 3, 2009i have a NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE and running Vista Pro 32 Its been 3 weeks i lost the color red. Mind you it came and went a few times. Also in the NVIDIA control panel i can adjust the other colors but red doesnt react. I have tried many drivers and still no fix.

My photo's, desktop, web sites etc are all normal. My SIL said my Cb and Cr are getting swapped, quick time, media center and windows media player 10 and irfanview players, all are the wrong colors. If I need to install codec's I'll need some step by steps where to get them and how to install them.

When I installed the Google Toolbar, it showed up at the installment, but then when I relaunched IE 8 Google toolbar was not there. It also was not in the "Add Ons". But was in my Programs. I uninstalled and reinstalled two more times and it will not show up in IE 8. I had MSN as my home page , so I had to change the home page to Google in order to have my mail. I have gmail. However, today I was wasting time playing Sid Meiers Railroads and the game crashed. After the crash the bar at the top of my computer screen was missing. It was like this tool/task bar(this one isn't specifically mine): It has Categories and the recycle bin in it. Can someone explain how I can get the toolbar back. Mar 9, 2010I can do a ctrl+alt+delete and bring up the task manager and kill the process BUT my desktop has lost the task bar and starting orb. Moving the mouse top or bottom or to either side does not 'unhide' the toolbar so that I can access my USB drive with rkill.com (a process to kill this malware) on it. Have tried booting into Safe Mode and the viral program appears there also, but once again cannot access the Start Orb or Task bar. I have no knowledge of any 'DOS' commands should I be able to go to safe mode with cmd prompt. Using Vista Home Premium.

Feb 25, 2007I have added a directory to the toolbar as you can see from image one. Now i can re-organise them such as in image 2, but as soon as i restart, the files sort to alphabetical. I've been using Vista since the public beta's and not experienced the problem until i just reinstalled last week.

It's not a huge problem, but i found it very annoying when i am working and need to bring up something quickly while the screen is filled with 100 windows.

Unable To Look At Certain Aspects Of Toolbar
Jun 7, 2008i have been unable to look at certain aspects of my toolbar. everytime i pass over my clock, battery meter or network status bar and try to preview them, windows explorer shuts down and has to restart. ive run numerous system restores and they all have failed, as well as security sweeps and nothing seems to be able to find the problem.
