Windows And Trend Micro PC-Cillin Security 14

May 11, 2008

My computer takes a long time to shut down and when i log back onto windows it always tells me that windows was shut down incorrectly due to an incompatibility with my version of windows caused by my Trend Micro PC-Cillin Security 14 program. It offers the suggestion to go to the Trend Micro website for updates, but there aren't any updates for it that have to do with vista integration. So I shut off my windows firewall in order to avoid firewall/virus software conflicts, but my computer is still having issues.

Kaspersky, McAfee And Trend Micro Regarded As Malware?

Mar 15, 2009

I was doing a scan with Spybot Search & Destroy, while it was running there was a Hint of the Day appeared inside the Spybot window. ( See screenshot ). So, if I had one of those 3, I should ditch Spybot? P.S. I do NOT have anyone of those security programs. My question is merely curiosity. Any comment/insight?...........

COMODO Internet Security 3.5 Is Now Out!

Oct 25, 2008

COMODO Internet Security 3.5.53896.424 Released! Good news! We have just released COMODO Internet Security 3.5.53896.424! What is COMODO Internet Security? COMODO Internet Security is the product in which we have integrated COMODO Antivirus, COMODO Firewall and COMODO Defense+ in a seamless manner.

Our philosophy, as you well know, is about “Prevention” being your first line of defense. CIS now has an AV component however this AV component is there to make Prevention more usable. We believe in a Layered Security Architecture where Prevention - Detection - Cure (in that order) is the components needed for a good security. Of course Prevention being the first line of defense, CIS does not compromise on this philosophy and continues to prevent malware from infecting the PC in the first place. And with the help of the detection technology (AV) built in CIS we can now offer easier to use security technology that has “prevention” as its first line of defense. An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'Yahoo!', Server: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x80004005

I recently upgraded to latest level of Nortin Internet Security 2008 (when they prompted me to!), and since then I cannot receive email via Windows Mail from my Yahoo account. See error message above. Just spoke to Symantec who claim that NIS 2008 is fully compatible with Windows Mail. I'm not convinced as the problem only started with their upgrade, and all was working perfectly before.

Which Internet Security Suite To Get Included With New Computer?

Apr 23, 2009

I am ordering a new computer (Vista Home Premium 64 bit) that offers an Internet.

Security Suite from Norton, McAfee, or Trend Micro in the purchase price.I am seeking recommendations on which of the three to get.

I am open to advice ranging from one of them being superior, to they all are inferior, to which one sucks the least, or even the one easiest to remove without hosing the system before installing a different suite.

I also have available Kaspersky 7.0 (which I know will update when installed) with one more available computer on its license. It is running fine on two Vista Home Premium 32 bit systems.

Update, Internet Explorer 8, Security Updates?

Jun 28, 2009

I am running Windows Vista 64bit edition on an Asus P5Q Deluxe motherboard, Intel Q9540 2.66gz Quadcore processor with 4gb RAM. My system has been running fine for the last year and just last night (27th June 2009) windows told me there were 3 updates that should be installed. I only noticed one of the update names which was Internet Explorer 8, the other 2 were security updates or something - really not sure though. The total of the downloaded updates was around 280mb.

Anyway... So I started installing the updates and walked away. When I came back there was a Terms & Agreement box for Internet Explorer 8 which I agreed to. Once that finished it came back to my desktop and said "windows needs to restart to configure the updates, please restart now."..........

Vundo Virus On Laptop, Kaspersky Internet Security

My computer has been having issues accessing some internet sites: facebook, yahoo, thisiscornwall and so on. I have Kaspersky internet security and thought everything was ok. Until i decided to download AVG. Whilst running this scan AVG discovered i have a Vundo. 0 trojan. AVG stated the trojan had been deleted. However i decided to manually remove the program the trojan was found in (a zip file for registry mechanic sent from a friend). I also uninstalled the program. However the problem is still there and i cannot access certian sites. Does anyone know what i can do to get rid of this problem? I have tried a vundo removal program and also vundobegone (in which you start the program in safe mode) these both returned a nothing found result.
