I have problem with this version of java on Internet Explorer 7. I am using Vista x64 Ultimte version. Problem is that on java sites eg my online banking, the applets or whatever doesn't load.
But on my firefox or opera browser, it load the same site correctly with the java applets.
As far as I can determine, this update (released 22Oct08) does not work, at least not with Windows Vista Home Premium. I had update 7 running, and got an update notification for Release 10 earlier today. Downloaded and installed the update, tried the Java test page, Firefox (both 3.0.3 and today's Minefield beta-test for Firefox 3.1) hung. Tried the update in IE7, that, too, hung.
Went to Control Panel, clicked on the Java icon, had some problems opening it; when it did finally open, I went into Advanced and found that Update 10 was not recognizing IE. Opened IE, redownloaded the off-line update, to see if that worked; answer is, no, it still did not recognize IE. Back to Java, found the off-line installed for Update 7, removed 10, reinstalled 7; Java works once again. In the midst of this aggravation, trying to figure out what the problem was, I did find one link to an article that said Update 10 had been delayed due to some unspecified problem. Seems to me that, at least for Vista Home Premium, there is still at least one unspecified problem with Update 10.
I upgraded my pc and bought Windows Vista ultimate 64bit, and i would like to install Windows vista Business 64bit. How can i do it? I took ultimate because it was the only version i could find (in my area anyway) that had a 64bit version in the box. But i don't want the media center, the high definition, and all the multimedia stuff. All of these ultimate "extras" are of no use whatsover to me. So my question is basically can i install the Business version with my ultimate key ? (is it "downwards" compatible in a way ?). I don't understand why ultimate is the only one with 64bit in the box. It doesn't make sense to me. It would have been much more logical for the Business version to be the one with 64bit in the box.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWant to update to Java 6 17 but when I try to install in 32 bit IE or firefox (which i use the most) I run into a problem because the old version of Java can't be found! On control panel and remove program utility I can see the update 6 11 but when I try to uninstall then a box pops up telling me that it can't proceed as the source file can't be located (jre 1.6.0_11-c-l.msi). I think this is why the later version won't install because it looks for the older version first? I have tried to run microsoft utility cleaner but I get a error code 800A0046 and Microsoft VBScript runtime error. Also tried Revo uninstaller but this could not get past the same pop up box seen when using remove a program via control panel!

Don't even know or care what Java is unless it's needed on my pc. I don't do games or other resource-intense stuff like music. I do do a lot of photos, Word docs, and financial things. No problem so it seems.
But the 32 bit ie is complaining about no java installed.
Should I install 32 bits java as well.
Some applications are complaining about no java if I by accident browse with ie8 32 bits iso 64 bits.
64 bits version is installed and working fine.
But for some sites you need flash and java.
Flash seems not to be available yet for 64 bits and so I have to turn to 32 bits.
But 2 java versions on one machine?
I have a Dell D820 w. 1 GB RAM. When I try to install Vista and the computer is loading the DVD - I'am told that the pc/cpu is not able to load a 64 bit appl. It is a Intel T2500 @ 2.0 Ghz. CPU. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have installed the OS fine with 2 gb of memory and now want to add the send set of 2gb to go to 4gb. I have heard you need SP1 in order to do this. I went to update to SP1 and read some forms that if all the drivers are up to date it should come in the auto d/ls I have done all the automatic updates and no SP1. All drivers on the system are up to date. I was going to just d/l it and install mannually but read it is not a good idea as people have had major issues like blue screens ect once they do this. And it is safer to wait for automatic updates to do this to ensure system is in line with sp1

There are no errors given. I am trying to install drivers for my graphics card (evga eGeforce 9600 GT in a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P motherboard) and when i restart I keep getting the Blue Screen of Death so I wanted to make sure and get all the latest Windows updates. However, I recently re-installed Ultimate on another system and it does not show SP1 in the Control Panel>System display. Windows Update does not offer SP1 as an update for this system. Windows Update did do a whole bunch of updates that took several reboots etc. after the initial installation. How do I know if SP1 has been applied? WinBubbles shows Build 6000? I downloaded a copy of SP1 somewhere along the way just in case I needed it and am tempted to run it on the Ultimate system but I would like MSFT to handle the job through Window Update just to make sure I get the right stuff.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi was just installing some extra languages on the ultimate extra update, i just selected all the updates to download as i was in a rush go leave home, it came up to about 5gb, it wasnt a problem because i was going out for about 4 hours. i came back home, download was complete and was installing the language packs, at first i thought it was stuck because computer started to run extra sluggish, but just as i was about to restart computer the bar moved, so i just waited, just doing some browsing etc on this forum, researching and getting tips and tricks etc., despite the fact that it was still running slow..i checked the cpu usage, the cpu was fine, but with suprise, the ram was running about 1.9gb ( i have 2gb ram). first of all, is the language pack suppose to take that long to install? and is it suppose to use that much of the ram?

1) What happens if my computer crashes and I am told I have to reformat the hard drive and re-install Windows? Am I forced to buy a new license?
2) What if I want to have a backup hard drive, or upgrade my existing hard drive to a bigger one? If it's the same computer and only the hard drive is upgraded or a second one added, does that mandate a new license?
If there is anyone out there willing to trade their 64bit version of Vista Home Premium for my OEM 32bit version of Vista Home Premium, e-mail me at 'I need the 64bit version because my system has 8GB RAM.
