Still Infected With Trojan After Complete Reinstall

Apr 7, 2010

I've been trying to remove a trojan horse generic14.ADOZ for a while. I've tried scanning with malwarebytes, AVG, VIPRE. That didn't work so I backed up my data and did a complete reinstall. Upon startup, I performed an AVG scan and it came up with the same unremovable trojans I had before reinstallation.

Infected Files With Virus Named Trojan-Downloader.Win32.VB.dck

Jan 10, 2009

I turned on my computer the other day and an automatic download started to update my Verizon Internet Security Suiter (FIOS). I started a scan of my computer with the update. The new Security Suite update supposedly found 29,000+ infected files with a virus named Trojan-Downloader.Win32.VB.dck? The weird thing is - When I look for the files that are supposedly infected - or the folder that these files supposedly exist in I can't find it. The virus appears to have created a folder named " ' " on my hard drive - but when I look for this folder I can't find it. Even if I view hidden folders. My computer doesn't appear to be running strangly like it is infected. But the virus scan says it is.

System Infected?

Jun 21, 2008

I've been infected with Winspyprotect on one of my networked machines which is a rogue anti-spyware program similar to Spy Axe. I tells you falsely that your system is infected and then try's to coerce you into buying the program by continuous pop-ups.I've done a bit of research on the net on the other machine and found several sites which claim they can remove it, but as they're all .exe files I have no way of knowing if they're genuine or if they're a trick which will infect the other machine.

Infected And Deleted .dll

Jun 2, 2008

I manually deleted an .dll which was infected (according to my anti virus software), the file was somewhere in AppData/Local, and its tag was "byXPGWpn.dll". Now every time I log on to Windows Vista a warning dialog appears informing that the file wasn't found. I restore the system to a previous point, but nothing happened. What does this file do? Should I replace it? If so: Ho do I get it?

Lost Admin Privilege Infected Account

Aug 11, 2008

I got my laptop from my school, and it's Windows Vista Business. After 4 months using my laptop and using internet explorer, IE started to mess up! Everytime i opened my homepage: Google, it will redirect to a dating site. And every sort of pop ups appeared... the pop up blocker were turned on, homepage was set to google.co.uk, security setting was at the highest, blocked all cookies, and all sort of things i did. Also, it makes my startup , and performance become 6X time slower than usual. After doing some searching on google, i found this tutorial site, there's a tutorial that exactly i have, it says that my User Account/profile is infected or something, it says to delete the account that's infected. I backed up all my files, and created a new admin account, and deleted that "infected" account.

It really worked, IE was fine, performance and such. But that was just temporarily, after 2 days, All the pop ups and stuff come back. So, i deleted the admin account i'am using, BUT I FORGOT TO MAKE ANOTHER ADMIN ACCOUNT!! And i'am still using a guest account. I can't install, create a user account, use windows update, and all the admin Privileges. There is one Administrator account, but i don't know the password. Oh the laptops is Toshiba, and i think the admin account is created by toshiba. Is there another way of retrieving, or whatever method to be an admin for my laptop again WITHOUT reinstalling my Windows Vista.

i don't really know where to find it so that i can delete it but i have noticed lots of files that the day they were last altered was from 1998 to 2006 and i got my computer in 2007. most of them are exes from things i've never heard of but some are shortcuts for things that i use in this computer. AVG Found Trojan Horse

Apr 5, 2009

It called "Trojan Horse Downloader Agent2 APF". Path to file:

ProgramsFiles>Real>RealPlayerSetupau_setup6.exe

Of course I sent it to the Virus Vault. And I wondered why Real Player was just launching itself randomly.

My question is I cannot find the setup6.exe file. I guess it went to the vault? I am wondering if I should uninstall and re-install RealPlayer again?

What's the best rule of thumb to download with safety? I've heard of "mirror" sites?

Also scan on Bell Sympatico's Anti virus service, it shows no virus or spywares. Huge Trojan Installed

Sep 16, 2008

I am trying to get into my laptop that has vista premium and a huge trojan installed. Everything has been disabled including being able to do a clean install. When I turn it on it asks for a password that I type in.Then it says wrong password and shuts down.Im not allowed to get into my computer for anything. Its an Acer ASPIRE Ive only had since May. Also they didnt provide a disk that would boot up a disabled system. Right now Im on my xp desktop and might as well not have a laptop for all the good its doing me.

Ive called Acer and couldnt get any help from them, even tho the com. is still in warrenty. You know the thing you call the run around, well thats what I got from Acer. They want me to pay $345.00 for a plan to have my computer fixed for up to three months! That to me is unblieveable. So here I sit trying to find a way to fix the poor excuse for a laptop myself. Im not a tech by any means and I have run out of things to try. Also if you could tell me how to get the xp desktop to burn a cd to reinstall vista.

PC Shuts Down Due To Trojan Virus

May 10, 2010

I know is it seems to be shutting itself down when it has just started up due to it having a virus of some sort, a trojan was mentioned. Can someone recommend what the best course of action is in this particular case? I suggested that if the OS (Vista) is accessible then reformatting the HD may be the best thing to do. But will this get rid of the virus/trojan as well? I am aware that this will involve losing all data. I'm led to believe rather than have the original discs, PC's these days come with a seperate partition which holds the OS, which is used when reformatting is required? How do I reformat the HD from here?

Trojan Win32/tliloti.gen!D (remove?)

This trojan is not seen by Norton360 full scan (N360 being too busy trying to eliminate the one lonely tracking cookie we need here to access our email). This trojan is not seen by Malwarebytes full scan, either. Does anyone have any info what is this trojan and should it be removed (and how)? It does not appear to be doing anything bad, but not Sure...not sure.

Trojan Attack, Close The Application Nothing Happens

Oct 28, 2008

i was recently attacked by TrojanDownloader:Win32/Zlob.gen!CI. I managed to get rid of it by downloading and running spyware detector and i think the virus/spyware has gone. My computer has been running strangly ever since 25/10/2008.

when i boot up and have logged in several programs which used to start up fine are now glitchy. My ASrockOC tuner comes on screen but when i click on the minimise or X to close the application nothing happens - same with the spyware detector software that opens at startup, until i open the task manager - as soon as i do this i can minimise and close the programs and then the computer seems to work ok.

The computer has also frozen on several occassion when i try to access certain files and i have had to shut down by holding the power button as there is no response............

Couldn't Be Deleted Trojan Found

Sep 10, 2009

I am writing on behalf of a friend who has Windows XP on an HP desk top computer approximately 2 years old. She uses SecureIt Plus provided through her ISP. She was cleaning up her computer, deleting old cards she had made and also information she had saved from emails. These files were duplicating themselves within her trash bin; she had over 100 files in there and couldn't delete any of them. I told her to try scanning with her free spyware programs and it was either SUPERAntispyware or Malwarebytes that found TROJAN.AGENT/GEN, in addition to some adware items. After she ran these she was able to empty her trash bin but said it still reported a dll file which couldn't be deleted, although this file does not show up in the trash bin. She can't restore the file because it doesn't show. But even if she could, would she then be restoring this trojan if in fact it was located within this dll?

I know she would never have placed a dll file in her trash, so the only thing I can think of is that the trojan was found within that dll file and that's how it got into the trash. However, I don't know about Malwarebytes, but I don't think SUPERAntispyware deletes files. I think it only quarantines them. So how would it have gotten into the trash? Is there any way to clean this dll file? Is there any way to make it actually show up in the trash can?
