i'm having a problem with my new cpu. i just bought a HP M9402f. i believe the graphics card is integrated into the mother board due to the fact that there is nothing in the pci -e slot, but there is a small chip int he pci-1 slot. the chip looks way to small to be the nvidia card. anyways, i put in an ATI Radeon HD 4650 into the pci-e (16) slot and then i changed the bios to that slot for the video card. however now when i restart the cpu it does not seem to find the card at all.
I have just got a Zennox DV5210 but I cannot get my laptop to recognise it because the disc that they have provided is only compatible with XP and Windows 98. Is here anyway I can get the laptop to recognise this digital camera?

This issue has popped up a couple of times on the forum, but none of the solutions seem to work for me...
I'm running Vista Ultimate on a Dell XPS1330 notebook. I used the Vista back up computer tool to make images of the system c: drive and a second data partition. These were written to a USB hard drive as H:ComputerNameBackup 2009-05-22 162639etc. I have since formatted and re-partitioned the on board hard drive and expected to be able to restore my system and data onto the new partitions. I have tried to restore from a Vista Recovery CD and from within Vista, after re-installing, but it always fails to see the backup.
I have also tried copying the back up folder onto a ntfs partition, but it still wasn't recognised.
Vista Ultimate 32bit isn't recognising my mouse or keyboard on boot. They both work in bios, the setup cd, and ubuntu Linux, on the same PC. This all started when I had to repartiton my drive - I moved the partition vista was on to the start, and deleted a partion i had there. When I tried to boot after doing this, it said there was no bootmanager present, so I put in the vista update disk and that fixed it. Windows booted as normal, but now, when it gets to the login screen, the keyboard and mouse do not work. They are not USB, they are enabled in BIOS, I've tried a hard reset, and I have tried in safe mode.
I've been running Backups regularly using the Control Panel, Backup and Restore Center. I've recently noticed however that my movie files weren't being backed up. The file type is '. MOD' saved by Panasonic camcorders. The 'video' and 'additional files' boxes are checked in the settings dialog. I spotted the problem after adding loads of movies to the computer and noticing the backup didn't need a new DVD (previous one nearly full) then I checked the backup files and '.MOI' files were copied from the folders but not the '.MOD' files. Is there any way of getting the backup utility to recognise these files?
In my 'program files' folder I see subfolders with names I don't recognise, do not appear under 'control panel - uninstall a program', nor on the start button 'all programs' option. Is it safe to delete them ?
My Vivitar 4100 camera worked fine with old Windows XP O/S. New PC operates on Vista Home Basic. Downloaded camera CD but the system doesn't recognise. Is there any way I can still use this perfectly good camera on my new system? Tried downloads from Vivitar site, but no advice re updating to Vista or even if it's possible. All I want to to is take a photo, download to PC and then use for any items I sell on ebay.
I am wondering if i decide to reformat windows, and I have windows and apps on my drive, but all my storage on D, when I go to delete partition C to make a new one for windows new, What will become of my D drive? Will i have to delete my D drive partition as well before i can install windows on my C? Or for my new windows to recognise D.
I want to do is have my headphone to have a different audio stream than my speakers so that I can talk to a friend through my headset and receive the voice audio, but to also have through my speakers sound from other programs. Basically I just want the system to recognise the speaker and my headphone as different output devices instead of tieing them together. The software I'm using is Realtek Audio Manager and it hasn't been helpful whatsoever, I've had two computers and I've had the same problem with them both.
I have 2 pcs one with xp pro, other is vista business 32bit on laptop. Using a 750gb samsung hd753Lj internal hard drive in a sumvision external enclosure with usb2 and e-sata connection, but i only have usb connection. ALl works fine on xp computer, but when i plug into vista i get the error in the system tray saying "usb device not recognised". In device manager it says "unknown device." have tried all 4 usb ports on laptop, have tried using it via mains powered usb hub and still no joy.
when i plug something in like my mouse for instance it does come up with new hardware found but cannot locate or install drivers, I have the instalation disk with the drivers and these ARE installed, also it was fine before, when I first purchased my mouse logitech MX Air I simply plugged it in and it recognised it and installed the drivers did'nt even need 3rd party software now it says "unknown device" and cannot find the drivers either from the disk or windows update, it is like this on every device even on simple things like usb hubs and memory sticks, it recomends that I download Hotfix KB940199 as this may resolve the problem but i get an error message pop up everytime saying this does not apply to your system (it is the x64 hotfix) argggh how frustrating PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP I cant use half the equiptment I have because of this problem,
I'd appreciate some guidance on this problem, running Vista Home Basic and I've had no problem with this 149Gb external HDD drive except when I tried to format it. It did delete everything but then says "Cannot format this drive" when I try other methods like defragmenting it or checking for error it keeps saying Windows does not recognise this something about wrong parameters. I tried Restore but no go,also nothing in the Device manager all is well with it.
After 3 days I tried to format it again and it worked, loaded some files on to it but then wanted them deleted so I formatted it and this has started all over again. It's just a spare HDD drive but I'd like to know why.
Since I have upgraded the PC to Vista, I cannot use anymore WinTV-HVR-1300 (PCI) (Same issue with PCTV Dual hybrid - PCI-Express). Vista simply hangs while booting, the last driver loaded is crcdisck.sys. If I remove the WinTV card Vista works perfectly. With WinXP all was working fine. I tried to remove all the cards from the PC... the issue happens when I insert the WinTV or the PCTV card... Of course I also tried to change some settings in the BIOS without success.

Hello, i am thinking of getting a new video card soon, and wanted to know if the card i picked is better than my current one.
The card i want to get is the EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Video Card.
My current card is the NVIDIA GeForce 8200.
Is the card i want to buy any better than the one i currently have? I don't know to much about video cards but I think it is better. If it is better, will this card run Race Driver : Grid, and COD5?
I have been using an SD card in my laptop for portable storage for ~6 months. Suddenly, I have started getting an error message saying that "Disk is write protected." The tab on the SD card is in the unlock position. I have tried using the properties window to change it but their is no option to change it from Read Only or Change Permissions. If I click on a folder on the SD card and try to change it via the Properties Windows the window says that it is "Read Only" but when I uncheck "Read Only," it says I can't because the disk is Read Only. And again I can't find any option to change ownership or permissions.
We have Vista Home Edition. When I want to download only new pictures of our sd card I have to wait and download the entire sd card. We have liek 550 pics so far and it will only grow. Why do we have to go thru these everytime? I only want the new pics.
I was wondering what is the best wireless network adapter - i'm a bit strapped for cash and so i need the best and cheapest solution. I have a Dell Dimension E521 running Vista
This morning I was able to access my SD card for my camera with no problem. But then all of a sudden I went to download some pictures that I had taken afterwards and the computer doesn't recognize the card. When I unplug it from the reader it does the ejection sound but when I plug it in it gives an error sound (three small low grade beeps). I put the SD back in my camera and the pictures are still there. Why is Vista not recognizing the card all of a sudden?
In the not to distant future, I plan to change my 8800 GTS 640 card to an AMD 4800 series card. I'm currently running Vista 64. I'm concerned that I'll run into a whole host of problems and will end up just reformatting my C drive and starting with a fresh install of V64 with the new card already installed. Can anyone share their experience? I'm sure someone has successfully made the N to A transition.
I recenly purchased a Toshiba laptop with Vista. I would like to network with my current desktop which has XP home. I wanna comunicate them by lan coz its impossible to manage net with wireless. how i can network my notbook with my pc via lan cand.
Currently I'm running a Nvidia 9800gt, I would like to upgrade to one of Nvidia's new cards, I have no idea if my motherboard would support one of the newer cards, because I received my computer from Dell/QVC. Is there anyway short of opening up my computer that I can find out if my mb will support a newer card.

my gfx card temps are a little worrying. Playing a company of heroes 40 minute long game with 8 players on a large map, my temps go up to about 80c. But it always idles around 70c even when ive just turned my pc on. even the gt200 cards get a lower idle reading than this, and mines only an 8800gts 512card. I dont think its a stuck sensor either, because if i open up my pc, i cant even touch the heatsink because its so hot.
