Ie8 Not Work: "close The Program Or Check Windows"

one of my client's have a problem with his IE8 he is running Vista Business SP2 and has IE8 on his computer. his problem is that everytime he opens IE8 a message comes up saying "close the program or check windows for a solution to the problem and then close the program" I am running adaware on his PC (one of my coworkers has done this before and removed some spyware,trojans etc.) I have reset IE8 in the tools/internet options/advanced and then reset, didnt do anything. The problem is when the error message pops up and you press on either option, it doesnt close IE8. and when you are on the desktop and IE8 is closed the message still pops up. I will run an antivirus soon too and I have also checked netstat. I fear a new hardcore virus for vista.

I have installed multiple games on my Vista, like Assassin's Creed, and when I try to play them, the intro plays, and then a message pops up that says that my game has stopped working and Windows is searching for a solution. Then this message pops up, Assasin's Creed Game has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is abailable. I have tried restarting the game, reinstalling it, everything I can think of.

When happens most on MS Office programs but have had it happen on others. When I "x" to close, for example PowerPoint, I get a pop-up message that reads: "Microsoft Windows" "Microsoft Office PowerPoint has stopped working"
"Windows is checking for a solution to the problem..." Sometimes it will automatically restart.

When I doubleclick a file it opens the associated program but does not load the file and will crash the program when I close it. Other file types work fine (*.xls, *.doc) when I doubleclick them. Any ideas what to look for here?

it appears as though my webcam (a Logitech QuickCam Communications Deluxe) is crashing my MSN whenever I try to use it. I'm unsure why, honestly, and it's incredibly annoying.
As a sort of aside: how come the Task Manager doesn't actually close a program / process / task when I tell it to? It seems like it thinks about it for a while then decides it knows more than I do.
Second, my machine hangs on restarts and shutdowns for some reason. I don't know why it does it because it seems to happen at random intervals. Is there some reason why this would be happening? XP was able to shut down without a problem so it stands to reason that Vista would be able to do that, too.

I've got an Adobe Master Suite Collection CS3 Extended (AMSC CS3 Ext) installed on my computer. I have windows vista ultimate 64-bit OS. Now i very new to this blog so bare with me. If this problem has a solution. Anyways all of the programs (within AMSC CS3 Ext) run fine on my computer except (cue dramatic music) Photoshop CS3! Now i dont get an error or any kind of error when i installed the program but when i start the program it does like its going to start up and its loading the tools and stuff but when it gets to "Building TWAIN menu items" it turns a transparent white and says there is a problem and Photoshop cs3 has stopped working and then sadly asks to close the program. I think (hopefull) the spell check in the mail is corrected....but has anyone had trouble with windows works? I can't get the spell and grammer check to work most of the time I get a message about needing to re-install and corrupt files...the computer was new and I got this message and nothing was on the computer.

I'm new here, so I'll try not to screw up my post. I have Home Premium Vista, 64bit and 688GB hard drive(size when checking C: drive). I recently checked and it showed less than half full. Then a few days ago I tried saving a file and I got disk full message. I checked the c: drive again and it showed full- no space available, which should not be. I did a defrag, check disk and that did not work. I do remember seeing a warning around that time, but it vanished before I read it all. I think it said a file was not working or was corrupted and may have said something about "Catalyst". I found Catalyst Control Center on my computer, but that seems to be ATI card (graphics card?). I did delete a bunch of junk so it can now function, but latest check still shows only 72 MB available and that can't be.

Automatic backup worked fine until December 26 (daily). Since that date it has failed. T'he error code is as follows: Catastrophic Failure, 0x8000FFFF. Also, check disk will not work.

I have been playing around with my Vista for some days now. I patched my registry to account for custom visual styles and all. The computer responded fine to all these changes until today. I installed Desktop Maestro 3.0.0.830 which according to the internet is a decent registry cleaner and works with vista sp2.
What I learnt from the net is that desktop maestro will clean registry and will quicken my startup. So i ran it, and it came up with 937 problems in my registry. So the next thing i did was "Repair". and it did just that. But since then my computer hasn't been starting up at all. Before the login screen comes, i get a blue screen, which remains for too short a time for me to read, and reboots.
Turned the computer on in Safe Mode, which worked perfectly. Ran desktop maestro again, and restored the computer to a previous state. This didn't work. it kept saying C: has some errors please check. But the disk check doesnt work.......

Vista started giving a blue screen a couple of days ago. Mentioned something about a bad device, but no new devices have been added. Went through the typical steps, tried to boot in safe mode and got the following errors:
AtBroker.exe The application failed to initialize properly. Click OK.
Explorer.exe The application failed to initialize properly. Blue Screen
Then booted to my install dvd, tried to fix errors. Came back with a failed check at the file system integrity check. Ran the check a second time and no errors are found. Can't boot in safe mode, and when i try to repair errors I get no errors found.

when I send an e-mail it goes directly into my outbox without being sent. I click on Send/Receive but nothing happens. If I then close down windows mail, as I re-open it the mail then gets sent as normal. I have no problem receiving messages.
I have downloaded the 32-bit version update and tried the 64-bit version (says not applicable to my system) but this has made no difference. I am using PC Tools firewall plus and avast anti-virus protection.

I've just installed SP1 for my VISTA ultimate X64 version. After completing the installation, and after the autoreboot, the start menu is fully available, when I try to access My Computer, windows has to close and tries to find a solution. How do I get to use the start menu again?

right on im on safe mode, i had the best antivirus there is.. spyware etc.. from 1 day to another, windows mail which i had never used before started opening by itself over and over again, in the task manager, all i could see was a lott of running applications named rundll32.exe.. i deleted the file in system32 and replaced it from the one in my laptop, but it didnt fixed nothing, i FORMATTED my pc.. now its alll empty, i lost everything, and still. it just wont close, it keeps opening and opening. BTW, i scanned my pc with several antivirus, showing no results of malware at all.. and also, when i try to go to program files and check the windows mail folder.. i cant delete it bcus i dont have permissions, but im an admin in my pc, user control is off, i can do pretty mucho everything except delete it..

My wife atempted to install an eGame program disk that apparently did not work with Vista. Since then We have received error messages that the Vista program has been altered, the system is running extremely slowly, and can not print to the local USB Printer and the attempting to open the control panel result in a window flashing up for a second then disapearing. I have attempted several of the recommended remedies and still can not get the Vista program validated again, or print.

When using Windows Mail, after I try to send an email, it remains in my outbox until I close down the Windows Mail. When I reopen Windows Mail, the message has moved to the sent folder, but is there a way I can send a mail without having to shut-down the program everytime? My status is showing as 'Working Online' and I have tried clicking the 'Send and Receive' but this doesnt resolve the problem.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium edition. Earlier today, a new problem started to occur. Each time I close a folder, I get a message telling me that Windows Explorer has stopped working. It then restarts and things appear fine. I can do everything as normal on the computer, but if I try to close a folder again, same error message.

using an old DOS program that worked under XP, but doesn't appear to work properly in Vista. When I execute the program, it comes up with the error message "This system does not support fullscreen mode. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application." My choices then are "Close" or "Ignore". Whichever option I click on, the program will then run, but in a miniscule window that I can't alter. how to get this to run in fullscreen like it did before? I'm working on getting him to join the 21st century, but in the interim, I'd like to make this work...at least temporarily.

So I accidentally downloaded an antivirus program that is really a virus. It really sucks. Internet explorer refuses to work. Task manager has been disabled by the administrator. Any program that operates under windows explorer fails to run properly. This makes it very difficult to use the computer. What exactly is wrong? Do I need to repair the registry? What if I did not make a backup?

My windows update is unable to check for updates, an whenever I manually check for updates, Install now shows up, once the installation process begins, a couple of minutes go by and windows returns to checking for updates, and I am right back to Check for updates for your computer. I've checked the history, and so far KB948610 has failed 4 times, and KB953733 once in the past (windows apparently never tried again).

Vista Ultimate PC that is not downloading and installing Microsoft Updates. If a manual check for updates is initiated the user gets the error "Windows Is Unable To Check For Updates". One update, Office 2007 SP1, has been downloaded but if the user tries to install it Microsoft Update hangs. This problem appears to have come about because the PC is connected to an ADSL Modem/Router which hasn't been able to connect for three months. The ADSL problem has now been resolved. BITS and the Windows Update service are started and set to Automatic. I don't have easy access to this machine.

Could you pls check if your Vista has Windows Installer installed? two places in registry to look for it, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUninstall or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftActive SetupInstalled Components use regedit to access registry info (be careful not change anything!).
a) I don't have a vista os box myself;
b) I'd like to see if most of the vista boxes out there has windows installer installed already and if yes, which version has the most installed base.

I have Vista.In my old email program - outlook express - I had the spellcheck set to automatically capitalize I's, the first word in a sentence, change words in progress and many other things. I can't do that in my new windows mail with Vista.

I'm having a problem with Windows Vista Home Premium, whenever I go to select a profile "Administrator" or "AL". AL gives me a black screen with an error message "Windows Explorer has encountered and error and had to close", it also says "Host Process has encountered and error and needs to close", after opening Task Manager. If I try to open explorer.exe through Task Manager, it stops working, and I can't get anything else working either it just has the same problem.

i just bought My Book Essential 1 TB today... and when i got home i plug it and it works just fine but its bothering me that the HDD type is FAT32 .. so i format it and try to change it to NTFS.. but somethings happen and boom the electric in my apartment was down... and so when the electric back i want to format it again but i can't... there drive is detected but with no space detail... it says "Windows can't format Drive H: - Check to see that the disk and drive are connected properly, make sure that the disk is not read-only, and then try again.
For more information, search Help for read-only files and how to change them" when i open the Disk Management from (My COmputer > Manage) it seems it's already a volume.. but the weird thing there is no space detail.. and i cant erase the volume ... i've tried using diskpart but i can't do nothing because there is no volume and i can't erase the disk... no luck with fsutil cause its not ntfs... I havent tried 3rd party software and i havent tried it on other computer (don't have other computer right now) and WDC didnt give live cd for formatting because all of them was in the drive... though i already redownload it but the program is useless..
