I hav disabled firewalls, virus checkers, tried secure connections etc and nothing
works. I have installed clients (Outlook, Outlook Express, many versions) before and they have all worked. I can even read my email from another machine with XP using my wireless network, however, everytime I try to update m IMAP folders in Windows Mail I get this message.
"Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non-network errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system."
I am having trouble sending my e-mail messages it askes me the name of servers - incoming and outgoing names. (ex. POP or IMAP.......) I am using aol. Does anyone know what the aol incoming and outgoing server names are? I've already tried imap.aol.com for incoming mail and SMTP.aol.com for outgoing and these combinations don't work.
I recently configured Windows Mail to use Gmail's IMAP feature. I like very much, but I have a question. When I send an email, a copy of the email that I sent is stored in the Sent Items in my local folders and on the Gmail server. Is there a way to prevent my sent emails from being stored on the local folders?
I am having problems downloading IMAP folders into Windows Mail. It asks me for a username and password, so I enter my details as per login into webmail. However, it says the following: "The server has rejected your login. Please verify that your username and password are correct. Login failed.
I am tying to set up Microsoft 2007 e-mail for my Sky.com e-mail account but am receiving the error message "Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server due to non-network errors." It states as a suggestion that this could be due to lack of memory space however this is a new PC with nothing but office and norton anti-virus installed so this is a doubful reason.
I was trying to set up windows mail for the first time, al was going well then I got the following message, Host IMAP cold not be found, please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. When using the email set-up wizard I come to a screen that says:
Set up e-mail servers
Incoming e-mail server type: (drop down menu w/choice of POP3, IMAP or HTTP)
Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server: (blank space)
Outgoing e-mail server (SMTP) name: (blank space)
(box)Outgoing server requires authentication
how to fill this out? I have a WI-FI connection that is actually my neighbors service (they are friends and gave their approval for us to use it). Sorry to be so detailed but I noticed that others who posted similar Q's but were less so (detailed) got either vague answers or answers I didnt understand.
I am using Windows Mail with Gmail's IMAP configured. I've configured it in Windows Mail as per the directions in the Gmail web site. Regardless, I get this error message every time I try to check my Gmail:
"Header download for the '[Gmail]' folder did not complete. Could not select '[Gmail]' on the IMAP server. You might try refreshing your folder list to synchronize with the IMAP server. Account: 'Gmail', Server: 'imap.gmail.com', Protocol: IMAP, Server Response: 'Unknown Mailbox: [Gmail] (Failure)', Port: 993, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCCD2"
This message is coming up when i send a message. Is it because i am running Norton Antivirus i have turned off outgoing email scanning and i have changed the port to 585 and 587 and this still doesn't work . I have a mac email address. Subject 'hi yes', Account: 'mail.mac.com', Server: 'smtp.mac.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '556 5.1.0 Invalid From header.', Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 556, Error Number: 0x800CCC61
I have an IMAP email folder. Every now and then (1-2 weeks), when I go into the folder, Windows Mail forgets all Mails in the folder, and immediately re-fetches the list. Then I need to re-download all the messages, either by clicking on them or by synchronizing the folder. As the number of messages is quite high, this takes a lot of time and is an annoyance every time it happens.
Whenever I delete a message from my inbox, rather than appearing with a line through it, or being sent to the trash folder it gets permanently deleted. This happens whatever options I choose in the advanced IMAP options. Also running Windows Mail as administrator makes no difference (I'm using Vista Ultimate). I get the expected IMAP delete functionality when using the same account with Outlook 2000 and Outlook 2003, so I assume this is a bug in Windows Mail.

When attempting to download my folders from imap.googlemail.com I get the following message: Your imap command could not be sent to server due to non-network errors. here is the error i'm getting. The host 'courtneym513@microsoft.com' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Subject 'Hey', Account: 'courtneym513@microsoft.com', Server: 'courtneym513@microsoft.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11003, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D

I get the following error message when trying to send an AOL email through Windows mail: XAOL-UAS-MB authentication failed. The "Page" button on the website allows for that info to be sent by email or by link. However, when I select to send by link I get an error message about ISP and IMAP. I have gmail as my default, and I think I need to switch to whatever is compatible with windows mail. This is a new computer and prior I used XP with OUtlook.
