I was trying to set up windows mail for the first time, al was going well then I got the following message,
Host IMAP cold not be found, please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non - network errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system.
I get this error...Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server due to non-network errors. This could for example indicate a lack of memory on your system. How do I find out if it is a lack of memory issue? How do I resolve this?
Incoming mail is set to IMAP (imap.aol.com) Outgoinh mail is set to SMTP (smtp.aol.com)
I get the following error message when trying to send an AOL email through Windows mail: XAOL-UAS-MB authentication failed. None of the authentication methods supported by your IMAP server (if any) are supported on this computer. Account: 'imap.aol.com', Server: 'imap.aol.com', Protocol: IMAP, Server Response: 'Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non-network errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system.', Port: 143, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCCDF
I am tying to set up Microsoft 2007 e-mail for my Sky.com e-mail account but am receiving the error message "Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server due to non-network errors." It states as a suggestion that this could be due to lack of memory space however this is a new PC with nothing but office and norton anti-virus installed so this is a doubful reason.
I am writing to this Forum in desperation because I cannot find any way to get in touch by email with Windows Live OneCare even though I am a paid subscriber. I have NOT had a good experience of MS tech support. After 18 months of endless problems with Windows VISTA Ultimate Edition V 6001 I now wish to reformat my computer and get RID of it altogether, replacing it with System 7 for which I have a serial number and a beta download from the recent Microsoft online download offer.
As VISTA seems to have eleminated DOS altogether and the old FDisk command doesn't work from a command line start, I have tried to reformat from my OEM Vista Ultimate Edition re-installation DVD which I am certain used to offer me reformat and partitioin delete as the first options but that no longer seems to offer me any reformat option at all and not only instists only on re-installing VISTA (which I no longer want) but leaves the old installation in a directory renamed "WindowsOld" which VISTA will then not allow me to delete....
I'm having trouble with the REN command with wild cards as used from the command prompt. For example, in the REN command help, it says: "For example, if you had files that are named smitha.doc, smithb.doc, and smithc.doc, you could use the ren smith*.doc smythe*.doc command. All file names automatically show the new spelling, and are renamed smythea.doc, smytheb.doc, and smythec.doc.".........
All of a sudden when I try to open attachments I get "The Command Failed To Execute" I hate Vista it gets worse and worse. They must have expected big problems as they uped their charges for help and when it crashes it now says do you want to return to your orginial site?
I hav disabled firewalls, virus checkers, tried secure connections etc and nothing works. I have installed clients (Outlook, Outlook Express, many versions) before and they have all worked. I can even read my email from another machine with XP using my wireless network, however, everytime I try to update m IMAP folders in Windows Mail I get this message.
"Your IMAP command could not be sent to the server, due to non-network errors. This could, for example, indicate a lack of memory on your system."
I am having trouble sending my e-mail messages it askes me the name of servers - incoming and outgoing names. (ex. POP or IMAP.......) I am using aol. Does anyone know what the aol incoming and outgoing server names are? I've already tried imap.aol.com for incoming mail and SMTP.aol.com for outgoing and these combinations don't work.
When using the email set-up wizard I come to a screen that says:
Set up e-mail servers
Incoming e-mail server type: (drop down menu w/choice of POP3, IMAP or HTTP)
Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server: (blank space)
Outgoing e-mail server (SMTP) name: (blank space)
(box)Outgoing server requires authentication
how to fill this out? I have a WI-FI connection that is actually my neighbors service (they are friends and gave their approval for us to use it). Sorry to be so detailed but I noticed that others who posted similar Q's but were less so (detailed) got either vague answers or answers I didnt understand.
I am using Windows Mail with Gmail's IMAP configured. I've configured it in Windows Mail as per the directions in the Gmail web site. Regardless, I get this error message every time I try to check my Gmail:
"Header download for the '[Gmail]' folder did not complete. Could not select '[Gmail]' on the IMAP server. You might try refreshing your folder list to synchronize with the IMAP server. Account: 'Gmail', Server: 'imap.gmail.com', Protocol: IMAP, Server Response: 'Unknown Mailbox: [Gmail] (Failure)', Port: 993, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCCD2"
This message is coming up when i send a message. Is it because i am running Norton Antivirus i have turned off outgoing email scanning and i have changed the port to 585 and 587 and this still doesn't work . I have a mac email address. Subject 'hi yes', Account: 'mail.mac.com', Server: 'smtp.mac.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '556 5.1.0 Invalid From header.', Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 556, Error Number: 0x800CCC61
I recently configured Windows Mail to use Gmail's IMAP feature. I like very much, but I have a question. When I send an email, a copy of the email that I sent is stored in the Sent Items in my local folders and on the Gmail server. Is there a way to prevent my sent emails from being stored on the local folders?
I have an IMAP email folder. Every now and then (1-2 weeks), when I go into the folder, Windows Mail forgets all Mails in the folder, and immediately re-fetches the list. Then I need to re-download all the messages, either by clicking on them or by synchronizing the folder. As the number of messages is quite high, this takes a lot of time and is an annoyance every time it happens.
Whenever I delete a message from my inbox, rather than appearing with a line through it, or being sent to the trash folder it gets permanently deleted. This happens whatever options I choose in the advanced IMAP options. Also running Windows Mail as administrator makes no difference (I'm using Vista Ultimate). I get the expected IMAP delete functionality when using the same account with Outlook 2000 and Outlook 2003, so I assume this is a bug in Windows Mail.

When attempting to download my folders from imap.googlemail.com I get the following message: Your imap command could not be sent to server due to non-network errors. This could for example indicate a lack of memory on your system. What, if anything, can I do? I really would like to get this Windows Mail working
here is the error i'm getting. The host 'courtneym513@microsoft.com' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Subject 'Hey', Account: 'courtneym513@microsoft.com', Server: 'courtneym513@microsoft.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11003, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D
when i am trying to send an email. It is a new Personal laptop. How can is fix this problem. Plus i know when i set up the account i am not sure what IMAP server in and out name i should of put.
I am having problems downloading IMAP folders into Windows Mail. It asks me for a username and password, so I enter my details as per login into webmail. However, it says the following: "The server has rejected your login. Please verify that your username and password are correct. Login failed.
The "Page" button on the website allows for that info to be sent by email or by link. However, when I select to send by link I get an error message about ISP and IMAP. I have gmail as my default, and I think I need to switch to whatever is compatible with windows mail. This is a new computer and prior I used XP with OUtlook.
I'm in college and tried to send a message my computer asks me to enter my email address and my name then my imap or pop3 server and receiver I don't know what this stuff is! I have the same problem on craigslist when I try to reply to stuff.
I have seen several threads, but haven't solved this problem yet. Here are the details: Logon to IMAP.aol.com (Aol account through cable provider). Please verify that both the username and password are correct for your mail server. It won?t take the valid info. And when canceling, I get this message:
Account: 'IMAP.aol.com (1)', Server: 'IMAP.aol.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Bad login. Incorrect name and/or password, please re-enter.', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90,Error Number: 0x800CCC92
Within the command prompt in Windows Vista, the dir command now shows non-zero byte counts for folders. This is a change from prior versions of Windows such that now, the output from the "dir" command does not match right-click, Properties from Windows Explorer in terms of total bytes for a folder (including subfolders). Is there any way to change the behavior of the "dir" command to report 0 bytes for folders?
