View 4 RepliesI have Windows Vista Home Premium on an HP Pavillion DV9000 laptop and since day one, the task bar clock has NEVER shown the correct time. The correct time zone is displayed, I have disabled the internet updates and I have set the correct time who knows how many times. However it can take DAYS for it to move forward minutes. sometimes, it does a time warp and goes back in time. The BIOS clock has no problems, displays the correct date and time every time, but it is now beginning to bug the heck out of me.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy 10 month old computer is showing 98% full on "C" drive (64.4 GB installed, 1.41 GB left) I'm running Windows Vista Home Basic. I'm just very confused as to why it is almost full when I hardly have anything on it yet. I've cleaned it up the best I can and deleted all that I think I can and I've defragmented after-with little or no change.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue with the hd 4350 card. I read on another post that re-installing windows solved the problem however I have an on-board video unlike the said poster. Problem: Device manager only lists the on-board display adapter, not the 4350. Heres the funny thing, When I run my diag program (pasted below) the 4350 is actually listed. I did RMA the first one I received and was disappointed to see the replacement doing the same thing. Anyway the reason for this post is to find any other possible solutions before I go an re-install windows. Wiping my puter is really the last resort for me but at this point RMA is no longer the issue.

I have set so that her name -Pat- appears as the key player in the game but for no apparent reason sometimes she becomes 'User' and Pat is not shown on the screen. There is nothing I can see to cause this but advice from one of you knowledgeable people out and might keep me out of the doghouse.

I'll change it and then the next time I reboot it may have it correct or it may have it wrong. But eventually I notice that it's back to being off by 1 hour. I am running XP Home edition with all the latest updates.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have had a new vista desktop for about 6 weeks. It is hooked directly into a Linksys router which in turn hooked to my DSL modem. I also have a laptop on the network connected wirelessly. For the first few weeks, whenever I clicl on network I see three icons--one for the desktop, one for the laptop and one for the router. Acouple of weeks ago I noticed that now there is only an icon for the desktop and for the laptop. I have rebooted several times and then run the network utility but the router ceases to show up. The router works as both pc's have internet access and both pc's share files ok.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI can't uninstall apps shown on Add/Remove programs nor can I update to SP2 for Office 2007. Same error code 2203. This has been going on for quite a while. Using Vista Ultimate. I'm willing to completely re-install Vista but have issues I think because I started out with XP with free upgrade to Vista Home. Then I purchased the upgrade to Vista Ultimate. So I don't have a new installation version of Vista to install as new. Same would apply to Office 2007: I only have the upgrade CD. How can I fix the uninstall/install/2203 problem? (The supposed fix for Windows Installer also fails with the same error code) Or alternatively, how can I do a complete new install of Vista Ultimate and Office 2007?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was running Atomic Alarm Clock on x86, but that does not seem to work, and I see by a thread in these forums, that Chameleon clock has issues too. So, can anyone suggest a customizable clock, one that can prompt the time servers much more frequently than the built in clock, that does run properly on x64?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got a new computer. HP G60-235DX. I'm going out for vacation and I want to massivly underclock the 2Ghx Core Dual Processor so it can last longer. Vista's current power save mode increases the battery life but not as long as I want.
I was downloading CPU clock Monitering software and I noticed that Vista's built in power options actually changes the clock speeds but I can't find an option to let me manually choose the clock speed. For High Performance, it is 2 Ghz (as expected). For Balanced, it is 1.6 Ghz, and Power saver, it is 1.2 Ghz. I want to under clock my notebook to 600 or 700 mhz. What should I do. My bios, does not support over/under clocking.
Does anyone know how to use Vista's built-in power options to configure the clock speed? If not then, can you tell me some programs that can with a little explaination on how to use them? I've used a few and they are confusing.
I am quite a big fan of Chameleon Clock. I believe it's a brilliant enhancement to the normal clock that comes with Windows. I have been using it with XP Pro (x86) all the time. However, since moving to Vista Ultimate (x64), Chameleon Clock no longer appears on the taskbar. It's running fine, it still does all the functions (like alarms, reminders, clock chimes, etc), and I can still access it by hovering over the normal clock. But it just does not show the clock itself. I've just got the normal Vista one, which really quite defeats the point of having Chameleon Clock in the first place.
I've put up with it because the most important functions still work, but I do not understand why it will not appear. I have done nothing different to XP, and I have tried loads of different settings. The website for Chameleon Clock says it's Vista compatible, yet it does not seem to work for me. Maybe perhaps it's because of 64-bit? I do not know... Has anyone else got Chameleon Clock to show on Vista Ultimate x64?
Is there a way in Vista to change the memory clock of my GTX 285? The stock speed is supposed to be 2500 MHz but GPU-Z displays it as only 1250 MHz. If I cannot change this in Vista could somebody recommend a simple program to use to set my clock to the correct setting?
View 4 Replies View RelatedVista x64 I had the orange calendar and old style analogue wall clock appearing on the upper right hand side of the desktop. They have disappeared. However, for reasons of saving resources, I have set Vista to boot with Selective Startup only, so this may be the reason they have disappered. If so, which Startup item (or Services item) should I tick to make them reappear.
