Changing The Color And Font Of Text In New Letters

Mar 23, 2008

I'm used to have Comic Sans while composing an email and Courier New when writing to a newsgroup. I've choosen these settings in Tools->Options->Send but they seem not to affect what's happening. What can i've done wrong? A guess is that there's an overriding setting putting everything to the same font. The settings for reading are working, though.

When he has black text on a white background it appears to have some white in it. It looks like the background color is bleeding into the text color.

Windows Color Scheme Changing Too Much

Nov 19, 2009

I was wondering if someone could help me. I can't figure out how to make my color scheme stay in any particular setting. IE. I use WMP classic and it (I think) is not compatible with Windows Aero color scheme, so it changes automatically from Aero to Basic, then back to Aero when WMPC is closed.

That is not the problem, my problem is that I would like to just put the scheme back to Window Vista Basic, thus avoiding the need to change back and forth all the time. Everytime I reboot the scheme comes back as Aero.

This seems so simple, just select desired scheme, apply then once I logout or reboot those settings should save.

Changing Background Color Of Applications

Nov 7, 2007

My eyes are tired of this white-backgrounds-overdose in Windows Vista, and I would like to make them black. I think I can do it if I switch to "Vista Basic / Windows Standard / Windows Classic", but I would like to keep the Aero effects (transparency, etc.). Do you know if this can be done, and how? I've tried some visual styles, but all of them have white backgrounds. I guess a nice visual style with a black background would be the best solution, but I can't find one.

Somehow my basic active windows text font changed. I think newly installed software may be to blame. Anyway, following the help suggestions of going to "Appearance Settings" and clicking on "Advanced" looks promising. However, for Windows Vista Basic, Standard, & Classic clicking on the Active Text within the Active Windows only get item Windows which does not allow me to set a font. Only a general color and a font color. I can't figure out how to reset the font. The font drop down list is empty and inactive.

Say No To Segoe - Changing The Shell Font

Jan 16, 2008

I searched the web in many places and could not find a way to completely change my system to not use Segoe UI fonts. I have a new 21-inch CRT and Segoe UI looks terrible, especially with ClearType turned off. I do not need ClearType at all on my CRT monitors. I need to use CRT's because I often need to change resolutions.

I looked everywhere for a solution... so I them messed around with the registry, and stumbled on something that may truely remove Segoe UI from my user interfaces and dialogs. I do not know how this works on other systems, or systems with Office 2007. I would be very interested in the results that others get, and also to see if someone has Office 2007 that can try it. I included the .REG files in the zip of this little app, so you can open those and see what I do. If it works, or not works for you, let me know. See this somewhat private link in my blog for the tools and .REG files...

2) Sometime I get random re-boots when resuming from standbye or just for the hell of it sometimes.

In other versions of Windows its C:windowsfonts, which it appears to be in Vista, but once in C:Windows I cannot find the fonts folder. If I go through the control panel to the fonts folder it will not let me copy the front from there. It will let me right click the font to copy, but not let me paste onto a memory stick. I have already got into Folder options and made sure that Hidden files are visible.

Certain Letters

My cordless keyboard model is S 510. I am having trouble typing letters r, t, f, g, v, and b. They don't appear no matter how many times I press the keys. The only way I have been able to type them is by repositioning my keyboard at odd angles. Each time I restart my computer, it's a different position. The letters never work when I just lay my keyboard flat on my desk.

Installing 7 And Drive Letters

Nov 6, 2009

I want to install Windows 7.I have 2 Hard Drives, both are portioned in 2 .

If I install windows 7 by booting into Vista, inserting the Windows 7 DVD and run setup.

This way I can assign drive letters that I will want to use consistently in both Operating Systems

I am a little bit confused after reading about installing Win 7. If I boot from Win 7 DVD it will assign the letter C: to its Boot Volume, no matter what drive I choose.

Then it says to assign D: to the start volume. The other letters will be in sequence.

Does that mean I need to put Win & Boot Volume on the same drive as Vista's Boot Volume?

As of now I have First Drive Portioned in to C: and D:

Second Drive Portioned into E: and F:.

I want to install Win 7 on the second drive in part ion 1 which is E:

When I install from Vista I just have to check E: Drive and the Boot Volume
will be on E: too. Hopefully I will have the choice to boot into Vista or
Win 7?

I would also like to give the Drives Names:
Drive 1 Portion 1 Big Vista - Which is C:
Drive 1 Partition 2 Little Vista - Which is D:

Drive 2 Partition 1 Big Win 7 - Which is E:
Drive 2 Partition 2 Little Win 7 -Which is F:

This way I will know exactly which is which, even if Vista calls Big Vista
C and Little Vista D: Also if Win 7 calls it Big Win 7 H:

I hope I explained myself?

Can Change Drive Letters In Disk Management

Apr 15, 2009

I have 5 USB devices (2 external drives, 1 flash drive, one CF card reader, and 1 Sony walkman) that when connected score a drive letter. My problem is that the drive letters change depending on the order in which the devices are connected (the first one plugged in gets drive F, then G, etc). This causes a headache for my backup software SyncBackPro, where I have schemes set up for my two external hard drives based on drive letters. I can change the drive letters in Disk Management (Vista Ultimate) but that only sticks while that device is connected. For instance, if I unplug my primary backup drive G and connect my flash drive, the flash drive would then become G. Is there any way of permanently locking a particular device to a particular drive letter?

instead of Austria AUstria

I watch this for many years, and long time before I analyzed this to see, whether my release of the cap key is delayed. It was not, sure, but I don't fret about. Now, with Gigahertz CPU and Vista, perhaps there is a way to adjust this behavior.

Drive Letters & Partition Contents Swapped

For some reason they stopped being visible in explorer until I explicitly go to them by enteing the letter in the address bar. Then one or both with show up (usually just the one I put in) I also have an internet webdav drive that also does not show up until i put it's letter in the address bar. If I use applications to access the letters, they show up ok in that application's file open/save box.
