I have a Dell Inspiron 530 Desktop and every now and then it won't boot up. I get a black screen with 'Windows Boot Manager' ," Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause."

When I boot the PC with the Installation disc, it repairs it and it works until the next time. When I click on the details to see what is to be repaired, this come up:.......
I've had an issue with my computer booting properly. I went from a 1:05 boot time to over a 2:00 boot because Vista go's to a black screen instead of loading my desktop. I'm not sure where to start fixing this, I've always been good with computers and have tried all the text book fixes and I have no where left to go. I made a video which is uploading now and will be up incase this doesn't make as much sense as I'd hope. All my drivers are up to date.
i have a problem when vista is booting up past the loading bar screen sometimes not always the system kinda hangs when about to boot into desktop?, a mouse pointer appears and the screen is black for about 30-45 seconds then the vista circle icon appears then desktop loads? is this a known problem or just my system?
When I try to boot my Vista laptop, it boots fine until after the green scrolling bar completes. Then, it goes to a black screen, then a darker shade, then a lighter shade of black. Then, an arrow appears. Nothing happens afterward. The screensaver will come on after a while. System restore doesn't fix it. What could I do or what could be the cause?
I have a boot issue since I got a Samsung SyncMaster 2233RZ, I have a black screen the first 30 second on startup, that is until I get to the login screen. I tried hitting the F11-F12 keys but I still just get a regular startup instead of boot from disc. How do I get to boot from the vista disc and what is wrong with my monitor, it can't be right it has to stand around and blink for 30 seconds..?
Vista will not boot normally. I get to the black screen just before the Welcome, and then... nothing. Just a black screen. I CAN start in safe mode with networking, however. I disabled EVERYTHING in the msconfig startup, as well as all non-Microsoft service, to no avail. When I run ComboFix, I get the msg 'ComboFix is preparing to run', followed by 'Acess Denied. Administrator permissions are need to use the selected options. Use an administrator command prompt to complete these tasks'. I did right click on the CF icon on my desktop, and selected 'run as administrator' but got the same result. If I just let it run as is, I get the usual 'Scanning for infected files... This typically doesn't take more than 10 minutes, etc...', but NOTHING ever happens for at least 15 minutes after which ComboFix finally does start. However, while its running through the 50 stages, embedded in those stages is the occasional ''Access Denied. Administrator permissions are needed....". The completion of CF and subsequent restart did absolutely nothing to change the boot problem. I do have a MS Vista install disk, and I've run Startup repair. No change.....................
It just would not boot up after shuting off the computer. The system kicked into the black option screen where I selected to let Windows run a [forget the wording] restore function. It finally did restore the system. I thought it was caused by the automatic Sun Java update that I allowed to be installed just before that happened.
im sure that AGES ago i saw a tutorial that told you how to disable the second monitor detection phase that some Vista PC's go through during boot up,resulting in a black screen that hung for about 20 seconds just before windows loads (i may well be making all this up. Im now win 7 and have an ATI card , both things are new to me and im experiancing an annoying 15 second black screen just before desktop loads. yes i know im asking for a vista tutorial to help with a win 7 issue but im sure it'll be the same and just to save anyone any time it is most definately NOT an ATI driver issue , this is 100% windows related and i remember solving the same issue for a friend with that tutorial on his Vista install a very very long time ago I had a quick look but it'll take me forever to find it (if it was here i did see it originally,im sure it is)
I have a HP pavilion laptop which came with 64 bit vista ultimate pre-installed. I shrinked the OS partition (160 GB), created new partition (40 GB) for 64 bit windows 7 ultimate. After installation of Windows 7, I cannot see the vista ultimate boot option when I boot my PC. When I boot into Windows 7, I still can see the vista partition. But instead of C: it is now displayed as E: I used the HP Recovery Disc to repair windows vista but I can only see a blank blue screen with the mouse pointer. How can I recover the vista?
i cant egt Vista to boot up? last night i installed acrobat 9.1 then shut down. went to boot up again and no OS? all i get ia a screen with the ASUS logo? the laptop is making a dnnn, dnnn, dnnn sound for a wile and it will give me the first few notes of the windows tone, then nothing. after a wile the ASUS screen is replaced with reboot and select proper Boot device or insert boot medie in selected boot device and press a key_ (the _ is blinking). no matter what key i press, it just repeats above message. the computer is 9 days old. i have been in the bios and reset to factory setting as well as tried user settings. checked to see that the hard drive was on the boot location list ( it is ) i do not have a Vista CD just a ASUS recovery CD (with Vista on it). i would love to not lose my info at at all possible, so i am trying to find an option that dose not cause me to recover and lose every thing? F8 dose nothing, F2 gets me into BIOS setup. no other keys seem to do anything on start up? cant seem to get into safe boot up or safe mode. after the computer gets to the reboot screen the dnnnnn,dnnn,dnnn stops
i went into my HDD and scheduled an error checking..well windows loaded as normal, but no error checking occurred i guess...now after the green bar is done, the screen hangs on a black screen.
Last night my pc was running fine and just before I went for some shut eye put my pc into sleep mode today I woke my pc only for it not to allow me to log on, mouse movement only nothing was clickable so after a short while I decided to reset upon boot I got the green loading bar but then a black screen after about 20 mins I gave up and tried a restore last good config.... Yeah nice one it bsod on me At 55% chkdsk and now I get a windows boot manager error file: ootcd
I tried Bootrec /RebuildBcd but it brings back an error that it can not create the new file as the file already exists. I'm not having much luck with the recovery disk for repair options as it can't seem to find the OS and brings back errors of can not recover everything seems on a go slow and ubuntu can't find my c drive even tried spin right and that can't recover a bad sector I'm at a loss as to what to do befor the fresh install option I'm on my last option to try use a back up store disk

Recently I had problems with my windows vista so i made a new one but now everytime i turn my laptop on, the windows boot manager comes up with two options, Microsoft windows vista or Microsoft Windows vista. The first one is the old one which doesnt work so everytime i turn my laptop on i have to press down to highlight the new vista option. Does anyone know how i can get rid off this boot manager so my laptop loads straight up to the new vista option.
Ive had this problem on many games not made for vista. so i was under the assumption that it was just a problem for that. I got age of conan today and i immediately found out it was infact for vista games as well. What happens, in a much detail as possible - is. I go onto the game menu, and the game loads with this screen, then finishes loading. After i press play...Then...Then offers no explaination.... I have SP1
I have vista home basic 32 bit and i have installed and tryed to play numerous games including: Medieval 2: Total War, Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2 and recently Farcry. When i open Medieval 2, u can see the cursor with the loading hour glass and then it says "Error" and closes. Battle for Middle Earth 2 loads with a blank black screen but u can hear the sound from the menu. And Farcry loads with a blank black screen but u cant hear or see anything.
This is the best install I have ever done (or was)…I did a fresh install and followed a tweak which was to very enlightening, to say the least. From there I have been to a few other sites and moved on to fully customizing my desktop/login and……well…this is where I stuffed up…My BOOT screen no longer works properly, even with the original “winload.exe.mui” file replaced.
I downloaded and used “Vista Boot Logo Generator” I loved the results on my last install…It worked well. Upon deciding to do a fresh install with Tweaking in mind, I simply coppied over a Boot logo I made previously after allowing permissions and all that as well as changing the NO GUI in msconfig…ect….BUT......
Here are my symptoms, first of all I'm writing this in safe mode with networking and running a Malwarbytes scan while I do so. My problems are: My startbar and icons aren't showing up, but my sidebar is there with all its gadgets and my background is there too. Also, when I right click I can go to Personalize, but basically other than the control panel and when I literally click on "explorer.exe" no programs will open. When I click explorer, it lets me look through my files, but still no taskbar or start bar. When I "CTRL ALT DEL", the task manager screen or w/e is completely black, but I can press ESC to get out of that and back to the blank background.
I just recently got an HP TX1320US notebook computer. it's a dual core turion, with 2mb of RAM and a 250mb HD, and it came with Vista 32bit Home. Should I go vista64? if so, would I need to upgrade the ram to 4mb, which is max ram? do I simply install it over my vista32 home, or do I need to backup files and reinstall everything? Would going dual boot be better, and if so, how? do I repartition the hardrive inside the notebook, get another one? my notebook can only fit one HD.

I have a duel boot on my system, win vista and windows xp. i installed windows vista 1st and then windows xp sp2 but after installing windows xp i am unable to log into windows vista. when i restart it directly starts windows xp rather than showing windows select option
I have windows xp installed right now and I dual booted with vista by re-partitioning my hard drive. After encountering problems with vista I delted the vista partition and resized the xp partition back to it's original size. I am now stuck with the windows vista boot loader which persistantly telling me that the windows vista files are not present etc. etc. Is there any way that I can delted the vista bootloader and go back to using the xp bootloader?
I was having problems with my pc freezing. Took it in for a diognostic and everything came back fine. They said it was a Vista problem.
So, I reinstalled the operating system disk and put windows back on the PC.
Now when I turn on my PC I get the Windows Boot Manager screen asking to choose operationg system to star with two versions of Vista to choose from. The first on the list is the rebooted (new) version. If I click on the second one, it is my old version with all my old files and programs.
Funny thing is, I am not having any issues with the old version any more.(YET)
Is there anyway to get rid of the rebooted (new) version windows so I can stop getting the windows boot manager whenever I start the PC? I rather keep using the version with all my old programs and files since it seems to be fine.
I ran XP, I installed Vista to the next partition, I want to eliminate XP,but the Vista boot MANAGER is on the XP partition. I tried hiding the XP partition, booting the Vista CD and doing a repair (twice) but when it boots, it tells me NTLDR is missing.
My boot manager appears to be in the D directory (Recovery). Does this mean that this programme is not available for normal use? what the function of boot manager?
I ran Diskeeper in Boot Time mode (2008v),and now my Boot manager is missing or corrupt I reinstalled the windows cd...went to repair section, System recovery options and hit Start up repair......it could not repair,........what are my other options....
about two weeks ago my PC started to display Windows Boot Manager everytime I started the PC. This is a new PC and only has Vista Home Premium loaded and has never had any other OS loaded on the hard disk, so is not Dual Boot. I Have loaded EasyBCD and can find no problems there, see log below:.....
I'm stumped.... Whenever vista loads up, it brings the windows boot manager and makes me have to press enter to boot into vista. If I press tab, it gives me the option to get into windows memory diagnostic. How do I disable all of this to boot straight into vista without having to press enter? this is vista home. I tried all, looked around and nothing!
I went to turn it on this morning, I just had a black screen showing the following words;

It then went to reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key. I went into the BIOS to change the boot order and inserted my Vista home premium 32bit. I then got windows is loading in files. After a short while I got the black start up screen with Microsoft Corporation but after a few seconds it just froze. Moments later it went to a blue screen with white writing part of which said the following; A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED AND WINDOWS HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN TO PREVENT DAMAGE TI YOUR COMPUTER.
I have loaded a clean vista 64 install on a new system I built. Vista installs but when it is goes to reboot after the clean install it sayas bootmnger missing.
I have tried to repair using the vista repair tools from the vista cd and it sees my op sytem and says it has fixed the problem but when I restart same message?
