As in sunject, happens so. If I select a mail, the preview windows is white and the mouse cursor indicates a neverending loading state. No new software, only official Windows Updates.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy computer is freaking out and i cant figure out why. I try to start it normally and it posts and I see the green loading bar for windows at the bottom of the screen and then the screen goes black. I can load into safemode but that is all. I can not restore sucessfully.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI like the Aero glass theme, and I often find myself moving aero windows in front of stuff just to see the blur effect, so I wonder I want just a big Aero window, with nothing in it like just a sheet of glass to move around on my desktop. how hard would that be to code? couldn't be too hard right? any coders want to write this for me? or anyone know of some source code that I could strip to make it just a blank window?

If I click it, a black screen appears in the top left corner of the screen with no border. Right clicking does nothing. I have just installed Diskeeper and suspect it may be the culprit.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running a laptop with Vista Home Premium, and just recently some of my folders like My Computer and other various folders are opening yet show a blank window, like literally blank. There's not even a URL there, just a blank window. I played around with some registry values (which I shouldn't have) and I believe that's the cause of this problem. Also, when i try to delete some of the files inside folders that manage to open before they crash, the delete prompt stalls at 0. Explorer.exe also seems to have multiple holds on single processes. how get my comp back to shape! (Ps. Did like 3 system restores and a virus scan with no results)
View 8 Replies View RelatedI open up window update it opens up with a blank explorer window. it stays open till i force it to close with windows task manager. it forces it to close while restarting my entire explorer at the same time, and it closes out some programs sometimes when it does it too.

It's not listed as a Program on Control Panel I've tried to download it, but it won't download. I've searched other sites, nothing helps. I restored the PC to a about month previous (5/12/2010) - nothing.I have Comcast and they replaced McAfee with the Norton Suite and that is what I'm using, not Windows protection software. Could that affect the use of Windows Update?What would you recommend?

View 4 Replies View RelatedNew computer. Vista Home Premium. FSX continually stops loading and have to restart the loading process. Six times to get it loaded, but all sytems not functioning. Loaded Accelerator crashed whole system had to do repair of FSX and start over again with continual stoppage. Don't know where to go from here. It worked fine with XP
View 9 Replies View RelatedFirst after doing an ordinary restart, my vista (ultimate) gets stuck for a LONG time at the loading screen and does not move, with the green loading bars. this happens every time i try to restart. i pop in my original vista disk and start the repair process...it says it found something wrong with my startup and it found what was wrong and that it was repaired. after this i get the message NTLDR, which is a whole nother problem. i ran the below to fix the NTLDR...
1. Put the Windows Vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
2. Press a key when you are prompted.
3. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.
4. Click Repair your computer............
im unable to burn music from my laptop, i have vista basic and until now ive had no problems. I insert a blank cd and it auto loads, then it asks to format before continueing, i click yes, it formats then right at the end it says unable to finish formatting and opens the cd. I then try to burn onto it and the cd stays blank.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to burn an audio CD on my computer (i've only had this computer for a few months and this is the first time I've tried burning any kind of disc), and when I put the CD in and hit burn it says that my cd is not blank, I tried a handful of blank cds and it spit them all back out at me saying it's not blank. Just to make sure, I opened my computer and looked at the disc there and it WAS blank, so I don't know what to do.

Why is the Explorer window showing different filenames than the command line window? The problem is , i erase something that made me preview images without opening.

not sure if thumbnail preview is the right term. - wanted to ask about why or how i might be able to fix ....... scenario: when i open a folder....
1. if its full of pdf files (ex.: e-books) i dont see the preview / covers of the e-books any more as before - just the foxit icon
2. if the folder is full of videos (ex: movies) i dont see a small clip of a scene as before now i only see my VLC Player icon. (the big orange cone) was there some setting that i might changed, not realizing? new things that ive done lately:

it's possible to get Vista to preview an animated gif. It will show it but not animate it. The only way I've found to see the animation is to drop it on to I.E.

Anyway, until the last few months, when opening the Pictures folder I was able to preview each picture/photo at a glance - using Windows Photo Gallery - without having to double-click on any one in particular, before being able to see the photo. Now unfortunately, for some unknown reason, I am only able to see the filename of each picture/photo with some sort of cover - Does anyone know which setting previews each picture/photo when viewed as Large Icons?
View 8 Replies View Relatedafter spending almost 30 min (yeah yeah I'm a newb or whatever you call people like me these days) trying to figure out how I can preview the tabs as thumbnails when I scroll my mouse over the task bar, I see that IF you have Vista Home Premium or better, you can change your Color and Appearance to Aero and then supposedly the option (under the Taskbar and Menu section in the Control Panel) for previewing tabs as thumbnails is supposed to be click-able... I have Windows Vista Home Premium, AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-56, etc. ... I tried to change the color to Aero and it won't let me, so of course it won't let me preview the tabs as thumbnails either.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a lot of videos and the thumbnails are not showing a preview of the video, but instead show an icon (see "Attachment 1"). I already tried the following:
1. Deleted Thumbnail cache via Disk Cleanup.
2. Verified that "Show thumbnails instead of icons" was checked via Visual Effects in Performance Options.
3. Verified that "Always show icons, never thumbnails" was NOT checked via Folder Options.
4. I also heard that this happens when the "K-Lite Codec Pack" is on the computer. So I uninstalled this (to no avail) and reinstalled it (again nothing).
The preview does not appear for any WMV or AVI files. All pictures and other videos are perfect (that I know of).
How can I backup my Window Mails and upgrade to Window 7 and use them in Win 7?

Computer not generating them or something. - I have done all the things list here and I still cannot see any preview icons for any files or folders. Unless I use the list view which doesnt show previews anyway for picture or movie files. I have done a repair of Vista and that didnt fix the problem. I really dont want to start from scratch. I also cannot change my desktop image, and any file I try to upload wont change it.

Is this safe and if not, can I turn off the preview mode. Who needs it. If I select a message, even to right click it, so I can delete it, it goes into preview mode. Is this strange or is it just me.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI click any image on my computer to preview it in Windows Photo Gallery, it automatically shuts down and restarts explorer.exe and it started after I first updated to Service Pack 2 for x64 bit Vista. Now these images open in QuickTime, Photoshop, and my IE and Firefox browsers so it's only the one application.
I usually try to research and fix my problems on my own since I'm the only one able to at home without resorting to paid services and I've tried System Restore which worked and Windows Photo Gallery/preview worked again but then I had to reinstall the service pack 2 again which let me pin point that it IS the update causing this issue.............

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust copied some new jpgs from my card reader to a folder full of jpgs from the same card, same camera, same card reader - and they show up as the Photoshop icon instead of picture preview. ALL other pictures in the folder show the picture preview. The card reader folder shows the pictures too! Opened a picture and edited it in Photoshop then saved it as a jpg with a new name and IT doesn't show the picture preview. I cleared the thumbnail cache - no joy. Maddening! Running 64 bit Vista on a Pemium HDX HP laptop. I apologize if this has been covered in here somewhere before but I couldn't find anything (other than clearing the thumbnail cache, but that was a bust). when opening the folder for the first time after a reboot, the picture previews flash for a nanosecond then revert to the Photoshop icon.
