I have a mobile intel r 965 express chipset family When ever i start the game the video playes perfectly and then the start menu comes up but there are no buttons and the picture is green, what do i do?
View 4 RepliesError on startup. After a period of time. Having scoured several topics in relation to this issue, I am still none the wiser and like many pledging for some guidance, I thought it best to post here. Some quick Background Info;
I made this computer using my old Powersupply ( Jeantech 500W) and Harddrive. I had previously used the graphics card in my old setup and had no issues. This was XP, different motherboard, processor etc. I formatted the Harddrive and installed Windows 64bit and installed all the new parts. Drivers are all up to date except the motherboard. (Of which the CD couldn't be detected)
When I turn on my computer, at the login screen I receive small blocks of colour that do not match the screens intended picture. On the log in screen this is normally minimal, but on my main desktop this will nearly cover the screen intermitantly. Sounds bad? But it will either fix itself in time with the "Windows has recovered the driver Atiamtag" Or, I pop open the Chess program and on load up this clears the issue..........
my picture icons no longer show the picture they represent. how do I turn them back on?

When i upgraded my windows xp to vista about 5 days ago it somehow screwed up my computer. My graphics are so bad that i can't play simple games and i know that my graphics card used to work perfectly. I just need to know if it is vista that has changed my graphics card and if it did how can i fix it. Also for Hardware Acceleration, i can not turn it on because i do not have the troubleshoot option in my display settings. My nero will not burn any dvd disc's due to that.

I installed some Mods for Oblivion and my directional keys Uparrow and leftarrow have some how ended up with multiple functions
Uparrow is also esc, F12, b,n and Windows key
Left arrow is also F2 and PgDown
Ive tried restoring my system, deleting/reinstalling drivers, modifying the registry and even third party freeware like AutoHotkey and Keytweak but nothing works
I just want to reset them back to being up and left (i use the directional keys,numberpad, right shift and right control for all my first person shooters and have to relearn with WSAD something I dont want to have to do)
I am even considering getting another keyboard but somehow I dont think that will solve the problem. I deleted the System32 entries for my keyboard and it stopped functioning altogether. I unplugged and plugged it in again and it set up the system32 (installed generic drivers there and then ) and the keyboard functions again but my problem remains.
How can we just turn only 3 buttons of window vista: "minimize, maximize, and close" into Mac OS X style? I just would like to change ONLY 3 of them, do not need to turn the whole system into MAC.

I have HP Compaq 6710b Vista. I am trying to remove Quick Launch buttons, because they annoy me. Have tried everything, including uninstalling the QLB software Update: I have tried searching the registry for anything QLB-related, but only found following two locations:

These are just Disabled or Adjusted properties, and probably of no use. So to me it appears that there is nothing I can do using registry. Tried searching the hard drive for "qlb" or "quick launch", but apart from some folders and system log files, also little help (There were two folders "QLB" and "QLBTEMP" in C:/SWSetup. I tried removing these folders, and restarting computer, but QL buttons still work)....................
I am running vista Home Premium 32 bit and have just installed windows live mail and I love the ease of sending pictures with it. I do have a question about the toolbar though, it has no send/receive button. The WLM version says 2009 and the build is 14.0.8064.0206.

I have the same question for reading email but for an exclamation mark, a paper clip and and what looks like a little flag? I did try using help from widows mail but couldn't find anything. Tried to download updates but came up with messages of not enough space - due to wrong download - was for xp. Then did the update for vista and said it wasnt applicable for the computer. Can you help me please. The computer always did it as it is only a few months old and the graphics card is an Asus EAH4650 and we have done all the updates for it just recently.

I can get the game to work in single player, no problem, but VISTA has for some reasons erased all the buttons in the multiplayer section so I can host or join via UDP, TCP.Why does Vista remove these buttons? Is there a security option to change so they are brought back? I dont use the firewall, but I see it has some options anyway, and the game has access like other games i do (that do work)Is there a way to allow connection via IP in vista, a way to fix my problem?

I can still access the menu if I carefully click on the border after the padlock, but shouldn't I have the arrow?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently got a laptop, I am very happy with it, but recently the taskbar has been annoying me, instead of displaying the opened program buttons (or whatever they are called, the ones that bring you to an allready opened window when you click them) on the left with a lot of room, the are displayed on the right, and only two buttons can be displayed at the same time, also, If I have two windows of the same type, the combine into a drop down (up) menu instead of seven or do being the minimum amount of same type windows before that happens.

The main button, that looks like a power button actually puts your computer to sleep, not really turning it completely off. The other button locks your computer. I personally do not like putting my computer to sleep. I would rather turn it off completely to save some power and save some money on my electric bill when I am sleeping.

A few days ago my display settings would not save and each time I restarted my computer they were different. I thought it would not get any worse however now when i start my computer the screen goes black just after the green loading bar. The computer is still on because it makes hard drive noises and my quickplay buttons are blue but the computer does not respond. It starts in safemode but it won't start normally. I have Vista Home Premium 32 Bit with Service Pack 1. Any help would be greatly appreciated to get rid of this black screen.

When importing a DVR-MS file recorded using Windows Media Center into Windows Movie Maker, in order to convert it to a more compact WMV file, a green screen shows up in the preview pane on the right-hand side. The audio works -- but only green shows.
It's strange because the DVR-MS file plays fine within Windows Media Center.
System is a Dell XPS 410 running an ATI Radeon x1600 pro with the latest Certified driver from Windows Update (8.391.0.0 dated 6/26/2007).
There is a later driver available from ATI, 8.9, but before taking the risk up upgrading the driver, wonder if there's another setting that may be causing the green screen?
I have a compaq presario SR5310F w/ vista home premium 32 bit 08 model. Was working perfectly for two days after being stored 18 months. suddenly it now boots up to a green tint screen with faint, hardly readable characters.

View 6 Replies View RelatedAlright i have a gateway laptop not too old at all. Running Vista home Prem. The back story is it froze and i hard reset it, upon restart it started to freeze on the green bar screen and wouldn't go past. Using a recovery partiton on the harddrive placed on there by gateway i attempted 3 times to restore the laptop to factory state, i got as far as the vista initial setup and it wouldnt go back to the desktop. Again it crashed doing the same green bar issues. Finally using a disc i found i deleted the partition and reinstalled vista, leaving the recovery section alone again. But it ran fine i thought i was in the good, so i started to try to get the drivers back, i installed the drivers for the webcam, touchpad, and video card. All were retrieved from the gateway support website. It crashed again the same green bar screen and not going past it. Now the issue, using F8 to get to the advanced boot screen none of the options do anything but send me back to the green bar starting the wait for nothing to happen again. i Also attempted to do a factory state repair with that recovery partition, but it sends me to the green bar. Same thing occurs wif i attempt to use the disc to just install vista, it prompts to press any key to load from cd/dvd i do so it says windows loading files loads for a good 3 mins, then just sends me to the green bar again. Also i cannot access the command prompt or i would attempt to delete the partition again. I cant figure out whats wrong and i know as far as ive gone would exceed what geek squad or most the the random computer repair shops could do. And seeing how its refusing to load a recovery from the vista cd/dvd i doubt anyone could get anywhere with it.

AMD Phenom 9600 quad core processor BluRay/HDDVD player ATI Radeon HD 3650 1gb graphics card (which I just upgraded to.) 46" Samsung 1080p LCD HDTV (yeah, I know, using a TV as a monitor, maybe that's the issue.) Resolution is set at 1920x1080 I have updated the drivers to ATI's newest available. My display issues are as follows. Basically, my display seems to be pixellated on the login screen. At the vista login screen I can see blocks where it transitions from blue to green. The display doesn't look very "crisp" or "clear" like it does on my IBM laptop (set at 1400x1050) with a 64mb graphics card. Say in Firefox along my bookmarks toolbar, there is some haloing around the text. Also, some text seems blocky instead of smooth, even though cleartype is enabled.

After booting up I see the Windows Vista home premium text with Vista's
blue/green background and only two buttons. On the left is Ease of
Access and on the right is Shut Down/Restart/Sleep button.
I don't see the task bar, can't call the task manager with ctr-alt-del
no Start button, no desktop icons.
The safe mode starts fine (I'm writing this while in safe mode with networking).
I've tried repair windows option with no luck.
Startup recovery says: Could not detect a problem
System restore says: No restore points have been created
Complete PC restore: No valid backup locations could be found
When I start command prompt it starts ok with x:windowssystem32 if not little strange since I don't have an X drive . I've tried unsuccesfully to start windows explorer by going to c: and typingexplorer.exe.
This all started after I uninstalled Logmein software, or rather after I deleted all the remains of logmein in registry after I uninstalled the software.
I have a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse, they both work in vista but I have no software for my keyboard to change functions and my mouse to change buttons. I can download intellipoint 6.2 but it will not install, I have tried all the suggestions on google searches, I just keep getting not enough disk space, well I have 425gb. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have this site whose link is Given that I use it quite frequently I would like it to appear as a button on one of the toolbars but the best I could do was add it to Favorites or to the Links drop down menu which to me is no different than Favorites because you still got to go through a drop down menu. I tried resizing the Links part of the toolbar so that it would be wider so that the links on the menu would actually show up as buttons on the toolbar but I could not drag it and I don't think it's possible. Anyone know how to add a link to internet explorer as a quick always visiable one-click button whose icon is the favicon for the site?

View 5 Replies View RelatedVista 64 installed fine however it will give a bsod when booting. The strange thing is it happens at the exact same spot every time. While booting the first low res green bar appears the slides left to right. THen the screen goes black. Instead of displaying the vista logo in the middle I see a bsod flash up and the system reboots. After a few goes it will boot properly and then run fine for hours. I've tried 2 different sets of RAM and both do the same thing. If I go down to 2gb it seems to be fine. I've seen the other thread, but its over 60 pages long!
