Vertical-horizontal Tool Bar
Sep 29, 2010The upper tool bar in my windows XP was changed into a vertical tool bar which is not convinient to use. How do I change it to the horizontal tool bar?

Change Application Display To Appear Horizontal And Not Vertical
Apr 7, 2008Windows is loading up in a vertical manner and not horizontal, everything appears to the side.I have no idea how this happened and how i can change this back to being horizontal.

Now a days it is insisting to install "Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool (KB892130)" first to proceed for downloading update files.Is it a FORCE or I can bypass this tool. I do not want to install it, as somebody told me this is a tool by MS to takeout personal information on my OS (XP) and MS Office and other MS Software.I know I use genuine legal copy.But why should I allow MS to take more information ? Is not WPA through internet is not sufficient ? Can this tool take information on other products/3rd party software like NERO,MS OFFICE and ArcSOft ?

Apr 3, 2008I recently bought a new computer with a 512 MB graphic card. My old computer had a 128 MB card but at the beginning, I only had 8 MB. I was using a screen saver with fish in an aquarium. With only my 8 MB card, the animation was really impressive. I tried my screen saver yesterday with my new 512 MB card and the picture was terrible. There were plenty of horizontal lines on the screen. What could explain this? Could it be that the program wasn't intented for this type of card? In those days, big cards like mine didn't exist. There might be a new update to this screen saver.

Nov 7, 2007For one of the users on that machine a vertical blue bar appears (there appears to be a red line in the middle of the bar) when the Internet Explorer starts, and the program does not respond to any commands. The bar is only about 1/8" thick and about 2" long. The bar can be relocated by pointing the mouse at the top end but after closing ie and restarting it returns to the middle of the page. The Yahoo page that loads appears to be current, i.e., it shows today's date and current stories. The only thing that actually responds is to end the program using task manager. This problem occurs for only one of the users on that computer.

( see picture below)The green(left side) bordered area is the area I can actually see on my screen. The red(right side) marked area is the area covered by the vertical lines. Recently I had to erase and reload everything on my computer - including XP - so now I only have some basic programs from established vendors (MSFT office, Norton, Adobe and SBC yahoo DSL). Since I did all of this, now while I am on the internet, my computer will all of a sudden freeze and the screen will become one color (not the typical blue screen but usually the background color of the page I was just viewing) with some vertical lines. Feb 6, 2010computer crashed? about 2 months ago. cleaned it, added some ram total now 512. computer runs,if i open documents pitures, etc, its ok. however if i try to run symantec or read my emails it will give me a few minutes and then goes to this blue striped screen and i have to shut down computer and restart.oh, i also changed the battery on the mb someone said they can get weak,perhaps causing problem beyond that he suggested possible mb chip.

Nov 5, 2008I'm on my computer for 10 hours a day monday through friday. About twice a day my computer locks up and displays grey vertical lines on the screen and I can't do anything. It requires a hard power down and power up to get back up and going. Of course everything I haven't saved is lost. I've tried deleting and reloading the video driver and updating it, no help. prompt by typing cmd in the run box, I always got XP''s cmd prompt aka dos
emulator with a name bar and right clicking on it gave me tools to configure
it's appearance and functions. I am not using cmd in full screen mode. I can see it by right clicking the minimized cmd on my task bar, using properties or I can use edit from that right click context, but I want the name bar back. When I go to the right click context>properties and click normal window it should restore this but it doesn't.

Tool Bar Is Hidden
Mar 8, 2010Upon hitting a sequence of keyboard keys in error, my tool bar at the bottom of the screen has disappeared. The space for it remains, but I cannot find the correct path (or set of keys) to bring back the tool bar at the bottom of my screen. Can someone offer the path or keys I should use to get the hidden toolbar to reappear?
