There are a couple of websites I go to where I am not able to view the pictures. I am able to view on every other site. I have the popup blocker turned off, I have made sure to allow pictures in tools.
View 7 RepliesProblem: When accessing certain web sites (specifically amazon.com) I cannot get any of the pictures to display on the screen. All I get is an X where any picture is supposed to be. I have a laptop and a desktop both Dell and both running Windows XP SP2 and experiencing the same problem! use Netscape 7.0 and 8.0, IE 6.0 and Mozilla Firefox 1.0.3 and they are all acting the same way. This problem began about 4 days ago when a Microsoft automatic update was loaded onto both my systems. Once again, thank you in advance for your help! I found out that this site has some of the most knowledgeable and helpful people around.
View 14 Replies View RelatedThe default display pictures on my user accounts are gone (E.g. Skateboarder and Rubber Ducky). They just became the chess pieces picture, but then again, when I try to change them, all I can select from are my own pictures, the default ones are gone.
Also, "Shared Documents" became "Documents". When I try to open it, I can only find subfolders such as "My Music" which are empty, every single file I saved there is gone. I think they are deleted from the hard drive now? Because I noticed the space has increased by a few gigabytes, without uninstalliung anything.
In Windows XP, is there any way to remove the list of "My Pictures" from the wallpaper (background) list in Display Properties? Every picture I've saved from the Internet and every picture I've saved from my digital camera appears in the list of background pictures that can be chosen from the "Desktop" tab in Display Properties. MOST of these pictures would be inappropriate as desktop wallpaper so I'd rather not have them as choices in the list (menu). In addition, there are hundreds of them! I don't want to delete them from "My Pictures" however.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHow do you enable image pictures to display on the left-hand side of Favorites links instead of the blue "e" image that represents Internet Explorer? When I go to Favorites sometimes I have little images display at the beginning of the link title name. Maybe they are bitmap images that obviously came from the various linked websites. Sometimes I have them and sometimes they don't display. I believe whenever I cleanup my PC (removing Temp files, Cookies, Defraq, etc.) they go away for a while. Then all of a sudden I find that many of the images are displayed. Some never have images...I assume because an image if not available from the linked website.Same thing happens with the Google Toolbar dropdown boxes (for CNN, Google News, FOX News, MSNBC, etc.). Right now my Google News dropdown box (on my Google Toolbar) displays images of the current news articles, however the other dropdown boxes for CNN, etc. are missing the images (no red "X", just no images where they are supposed to be).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am experiencing pixelization problems. At first it would only occur at boot up or reboot. Now it is happening all the time which can be help somewhat by refresh, changing the desktop picture, and/or logging off then on I have tried, disabling the 128MB DDR ATI Radeon 9800 Pro using device manager. At first it was OK but at low resolution (VGA I think), but when it asked if I wanted to let windows manage the graphics it got garbled again. I have reset resolutions down to 800 x 600 using the graphics card but that doesn't help.

I am running IE 6.0, on Windows XP have run spyware doctor, registry mechanic, microsoft antispyware. I have turned off firewall and pop-up blocker. I still cannot view his pictures. This is a website my nephew built. Everyone else he has checked with can view them with no problem.
I cant send pictures or click on an adress, when the window pops up it says page cannot be displayed. I got rid of it Before but now it doesnt work again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI save some pictures off the internet and then deleted them. Afterwards, I restored them from my recycle bin and now i am unable to re-delete them. When i try to delete them it comes up with "Error Deleting File or Folder: Cannot delete file: cannot read from source file or disk" How can i get these files off of my computer?

Under Internet Options I have selected Outlook Express for my email service and this has been working satisfactorily for over 2 years. Recently when choosing to send a photo file as an email attachment, I get directed to Microsoft Outlook which has no "send" option. Two other users on my computer have no problems and automatically get Outlook Express for the same procedure. Why doesn't Outlook Express come up for me?

(It was before the format).I have typed in "Export Pictures from CD to My Pictures folder" without the quotes and I get a list of links pertaining to CD recording errors and other things like that. I did right click on a picture in Drive E (my CD-RW) just to see what would come up and I noticed that on the Send To menu that these pictures can be sent to the desktop.

So I was installing windows xp on a dell 4300, I was basically done when suddenly the monitor went black and said it can't display the content (dell E207WFP anyways, I tried some other old 15" dell monitor lcd, same problem. I am repairing the installation now, but I have no idea how to fix the problem if I can't see the screen. I have other computers at my disposal, but since I have no idea how far along the setup is (it is close to done, I think just setting up the accounts left).

In many applications, when I go to "File Open", I am presented with a default view of pictorial icons, rather than text listings of the files directory. This did not used to happen in earlier versions of Windows. Is there a way to stop this, so that I would only ever see a List or Details view, and never a pictorial representation of the files?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have taken a series of pictures on different days and downloaded them into a folder in My Pictures. I need to put them in a sequence so I right clicked each picture and re-named it as follows: 001jpg, 002jpg and so on for 100 pictures. In view, I selected arrange icons by modified and all the pictures moved to the sequence I wanted. All is well and good until I copied the folder to a CD. All the pictures reverted to their original sequence instead of the sequence I put them in.
How can I copy the folder with the pictures in the sequence I put them in? Whenever I open the picture file to look at that folder, they are always in the sequnce I put them in

I was able to change the wallpaper, but I was told you had to do a registry tweak in order to do the screensaver.

Regardless of whatever choice I make I always get a white background.Avast Anti-viruss scan found no viruses and 'Malwarebytes' found no malware. I tried System Restore' but it cannot restore.I turned off and on the PC, unplugged it from the mains but to no avail.The problem started after removing some malware using Ad-Aware.

Instead of filling the whole displayr I end up with a Window in the centre of the display that gets smaller as I change the screen resolution to less. View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using an old Dell with XP and Internet Explorer 7. When previewing some images I have stored in My Pictures, I find when using the 'previous' and 'next' buttons I am able to pull up the next or previous pictures as I should. But when I e-mail an image to myself and then use the 'next' or 'previous' buttons, I begin to get images from web sites I have recently visited even if it is just my home page. While scanning my home page, for instance, I collect dozens of images in a matter of minutes.The only change I have made recently is a download of info from a digital camera disc to enable me to store pictures from my new camera.
I did a system restore to a couple of days before that download but I'm still copying dots, dashes, logos and pictures or frames from videos.
I have problems if I try and run the display settings above 800x600. I was wondering if this would be fixed if I upgrade the firmware settings and if so where would I get these upgrades? Whenever I try and run it at a higher display setting all I get is a thing saying "Signal isnt compatible with this display setting".
