im on a rented Dell laptop and when I try to go into a java chat room the screen loads but there is no users list it is all one screen...I also can't load yahoo games.I know there is java sun loaded on this thing.

It never loads, I usually have to start up in safe mode, and restore to an earlier date, which fixes the problem, until I have to restart! An error report is sent, it says a DLL Driver is not working properly or having problems, but can't specify which one! How do I locate and solve this problem?
View 7 Replies View RelatedYesterday I de-dusted my PC using one of those air-spray devices. Just got all the dust out and gave it a general clean. I didnt stick the duster anywhere that I should'nt have....
Anyway, I go to turn my PC on and it gives me the "Loading Windows XP" screen but then just goes black, and Windows doesnt load...So I turn off and then on again. I load it up in safe mode, then restart again - without changing anything. The computer then restarts as normal - As if nothing had happened. Which is good - but whenever I turn it off i seemingly have to go through this entire procedure again
bios runs good, then i get huge delay before xp loads to login screen.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy computer started to do this wierd thing where it would load at the windows screen, then go to a blue screen, then restart.It tells me its shutting down to prevent memory loss, also tells me these numbers: 0x0000007E (0xC0000006, 0x806A276D, 0xF789E6E8, 0xF789E3E4)Before this started Windows prompted me to download a service pack, It worked fine ulti about two days later.So I start the computer in safe mode and do system restore, that doesent work. I started again and did a virus scan and it wouldent let me. So after trying and trying I finally gave up, I had nothing i wanted on that hard drive, so I decided just to reinstall windows. I pop the CD in there, and it asks me if I want to repair, I tried that. Now it wont even let me run safe mode.I do boot from cd, but when it loads the CD i cant see anything but a blue screen, like it froze or my screen doesent load it.

I have not changed any settings/ installed/removed any programs recently. My last shut down was normal.When i started up the pc i got as far as the xp splash screen which i believe it would have stayed on indefinitely. The scroll bar was still scrolling. So I attempted restart and tried again and the same problem occurred. I then attempted to start in safe mode were the BSOD occurred at what appeared to be the end of the driver loading. I got the message unmountable_boot_volume with the error code 0x000000ED (0X869C45CO, 0XC00000BS, 0X00000000, 0X00000000).
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy XP computer (Dell dimension 5000) has been playing up alot recently and now after going to blue screen once more i can no longer boot up at all, Now everytime i boot up, my computer loads up untill the windows logo (splash?) screen and then goes to blue screen almost instantly. Now i would try and reinstall XP using the CD but i cant find it ANYWHERE, i do however have a vista startup disc. Ive tried booting the computer with the vista CD then pressing F12 to go to the boot up menu. However when i select "onboard USB or CD_ROM drive" e message appears below, "fress f1 to continue or f2 to run setup utility" then when i press f1 to continue another message appears below saying press f1 to reboot and f2 to run setup utility. pressing F1 gives the same message and f2 takes me to this blue screen with setup information and other options. Basically i cant get my computer to load up at all, and seeing as ive lost the XP disc (careless i know) is it possible to install vista on it rather than reinstalling XP? If not does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can fix my computer, or at least get it to boot? I have tried running it in safe mode nd last known good configuration and all that but still no success, i ran a few diagnostics which said the hard drive is fine. I'm totally clueless in this department so a step by step.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have windows xp professional sp2, I uninstalled Symantec Antivirus then rebooted computer. Went through bios load screen then came a black screen (no hard drive activity or nothing) and stays black with no hard drive activity or anything for about 5 minutes. After the 5 minutes I get the Windows XP loading screen then boots as normal.
Prior to me uninstalling symantec it went straight from bios screens to windows xp loading screen almost immediately. The reason I uninstalled antivirus was I wanted to try a different antivirus
I have both a DVD COMBO and a CDRom on my computer.The dvd combo shows up on MY computer list but there is no sign of the CD ROM.The properties say it is working correctly and is enabled. Then when trying to go to a game room he was told to update his Java VM. When he clicked ok, he received a message "error has occured, click ignore to continue or close".He closed and everything turned off.Since then, he gets a blue screen each time he starts the computer up, or he gets as far as the Desktop and gets the error as soon as he clicks on his AOL icon.

If I cnt-alt-del, I get a login screen with one of the users already in the user box. I never set a password for that user, but the login asks for one. View 10 Replies View RelatedI boot my computer up and its fine till it reaches the logon screen. There are no users to select to logon let alone the shutdown button. Now I have changed the logon screen from its default one, however, It worked fine for almost a year... so i really doubt thats the problem.
Due to this problem I Installed XP Home [running as dual boot] so that i may fix the problem. XP Home works fine and i tried to replace the XP Pro Logonui.exe with the XP Home one. I also went into the recovery console and replaced the ntldr and ntdetect files. None of these worked and i still have the same problem. I would like to avoid reformatting simply because I have vital information that i would like to keep.
I was in run/control userpasswords2 trying to give admin privileges to a user account and when I came out I somehow deleted the users icon from the welcome screen. When I try to add user back in through both the run/control userpasswords2 and Control/users I get the message that the user already exists. How can I ge the user icon back on the welcome screen?

we cant find netware or client services for netware in the add / remove programs.
we searched the files for netware and found to programs listed one in c:j386 and another one in c:windowssystem32
How can we unistall the program?
Whenever I switch users then log back in after 3 seconds my computer goes into my screen-saver. The only way I can keep it from doing this is to franticly move my mouse all over the screen. This happened just 30 seconds ago and its really annoying

View 3 Replies View RelatedI use a PIII - 500MHz/128RAM PC with Win XP installed on it. My system drive (C: ) has a decent 500MB free space. I have my voice chat applications installed on other drives . Every time I start to voice chat (Y!M, GTalk, Skype) my PC hangs after about 2 minutes. With GTalk it happens in about 1 minute. I have no clue why this happens, the system just gets frozen and I cannot even move my mouse. The situation continues for I dont know how long, but I waited for about an hour once and I always have to reboot my machine. FYI, I am doing voice chat on this PC for the first time.
