I recently have been downloading music to my computer and storing it under "my music folder"
I have also created sub folders for all my albums.
I like to put the album cover for each band in these folders
A ton of MP3s organized by albums. In each folder I have the album cover for the album and saved as folder. jpeg. Now, when I go to the parent directory, I change its view to Thumbnails and all the child folders that have the album art in them show up as mini-previews in the folder image.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using Windows XP and I've been having problems with some MP3 files in regards to album artwork and tagging. I've discovered that it's my album folders that have been tagged (most likely by me) to have a custom Folder Picture.I want to remove all the Folder Pictures from my music album folders. I fear I will have to do one by one (which is a LOT!) unless I can find a reverse procedure in the program I suspect caused this to happen. That program is Tag&Rename, and I suspect I accidentally added custom pictures to these folders when I was adding album art to the individual music files

Every website that we visit the text/pics/etc is only covering 2/3 of the window with a wasted space on both sides of window. Tried to change DPI as well as changed text size and tried to minimize / maximize page. Not sure what else to do.

When I have the Fax Cover Page Editor open and go to File / Open to look in the Cover Page folder for sample cover pages, there is no Cover Page folder (only My Recent Documents, Desktop, My Desktop, My Computer). How do I get to the sample cover pages in order to edit one of them to use as a template?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy computer shut down and when I turned it back on, all the icons were very large and they covered my whole screen,. A lot of popups started coming up that said it found new hardware(about 10 or 12). I restored it back a couple of days and now everything is back to normal. I hope I didn't make a mistake doing this. I ran my ewido and then my AVG. If it happens again, maybe I should just trash it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell M1710 XPS laptop, recently because of a power cut it failed to boot because of a corrupt file. I've re-installed windows XP (for some reason I was not able to boot from CD and repair), now obviously alot of the programs that are still on the hardrive will not open because they need to be re-installed. Unfortunatly I'm stuck on a ship with very little internet access and no CD's to re-install stuff with. I don't know if its possible to get these things working
Anyway my major concern is I've lost alot of my I'tunes music and photos that were on my hard-drive before. They seem to be still on the harddrive as I still have only 10% of the drive left as free space and yet when I double click on C: drive on my computer there shows only 32 gigs of stuff in folders there and I cannot find any of my music (program files seem to be unaffected, there still on the drive as normal even if im unable to run them). Is there anyway to find these missing folders/files that still seem to be on my harddrive but not visable.
Been using WinFax. Lots of data, cover pages, etc. This is no longer supported. Any suggestions on some other software that will work?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows XP Home Edition, and have gotten help here before from Cheeseball1! (Whom was just wonderful!) Here is the problem...I went to my Music file to listen to some music and my folder was filled with numerous pics of albums and the title on them all started with Album Art. I deleted them and BAM they were back again as copies. As many as 26 each! Do I have a major probem here? Noone else uses the computer but myself and I have no idea where these ALBUM ARTs came from.

Here's my situation In a particular genre jazz I have 2 albums that have album art and 4 that do not. When I display the list of genres, the no art generic icon is used. I want to change it to display one of the albums that DO have art.I've been looking on Microsoft's support site, and I see how to create your own album art using jpg's in your files ,but that's not what I'm asking. View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm sure I am overlooking something obvious, but numerous recent problems with my system seem to be (hopefully) tied to the same source.I just don't know what it is.I am running windows XP home, service pack one (I have recently reverted back from SP2 thinking it may be the cause of the problems)
1) Any and all telnet type programs refusing to connect to any host (telnet, zmud, gmud, etc) In the case of zmud I can observe that my computer is in no way interfacing with another machine. telnet error is 'unable to contact host machine'
2) Windows media player (version 10) is unable to retrieve album info. Instead I immediately get a standard IE 'page cannot be displayed' screen.
3) Unable to register for many programs such as Gracenote. In the case of gracenote I recieve a 'socket open failed' error message.I am not currently running any firewall.
I only hae a 56k internet connection, so the instantaneous negative connection responses many of my programs display make it fairly obvious that this is a problem with my machine. I hope it is some silly xp setting I need to change.
Notice considerable lag when doing the following simple tasks: use the dialog boxes to browse folders (save as, etc) is slow ,double clicking my computer or any folders is slow, right click and create new folders is slow, clicking START button and going to programs is slow

View 6 Replies View Relatedwhenever i clicked on a large video file in explorer (running xp sp2 on inspiron 6000), explorer would crash. i found a tip online to run "regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll" and that fixed the problem completely. however, this fix created a new problem - - now all the info that used to be under "artist" or "album" is gone! any fix? "date modified" is still there, but i like to sort my mp3 folders by artist, and now it does me no good.

(About 1200 mp3 files all inside these 100 folders...all inside 1 folder if that makes any sense)I'm thinking about moving all those mp3's outside there folders so that i have just one continuous stream of mp3's. I decided to get a printer that I had had before, Brother DCP-110C as I knew this had worked well. I tried to install yesterday (28th July) but could'nt and my PC keeps switching itself off near the end of the installation. I then thought I would use System restore to go back to a happier time when I had the first Brother printer. previous saved point wont let me to restore
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was messing around with CCleaner and deleted something to do with an old version of McAfee (which isn't even on my computer anymore) from the registry. Yes, it was stupid to mess with the registry I guess because I failed to make the backup and now my computer won't boot. I get the blue screen that says there was an error 0x0000008e, or something like that.
I have tried using F8 and choosing the last known good configuration but it doesn't work. Also, I can boot into safe mode and I tried running a system restore but after it finished and I rebooted, it said that I couldn't restore from that point.I haven't really tried another restore because I am a little afraid to do anything. I don't want to risk losing access in safe mode because I need to be able to back up some of my files if in case I have to do a reformat.
My computer had a turn yesterday and kept giving me the blue screen error on start-up, so using my windows disk I managed to run chkdsk. So I can get on now, but certain things won't run, like Media Centre, Firefox has forgotten my settings and also my iriver doesn't get acknowledged when I plug it into a USB port.So I am trying to run System restore to go back a couple of days.I can get into restore, and go through everything up to the point where you click 'next' in order to restore it.I click on next but nothing happens, it just stays there.

However, when I got to my profile a message window came up that said unable to restore to (chosen date/time) etc. I chose 3 other restore points over the last month, thinking it might be some recent problem, still a no go. I have 8.5 gig disk space and turning off RESTORE , rebooting and creating a new restore point did not solve the problem--the message remained the same. Other than reinstalling XP I am at a loss as to what to do. I do not have a need to restore at the moment but I may need to in the future.

I bought an external HD, completely backed up everything important and was about to run a system restore as I had created a manual restore point following the resolution of previous problems. The link to the thread is found below. However, when I use the system restore wizard, I can only select November 8th, 9th, and 10th and today is the 10th. I created the manual restore point back in March 2006. I cannot change the month and I have no idea where to find manual points.
