A ton of MP3s organized by albums. In each folder I have the album cover for the album and saved as folder. jpeg. Now, when I go to the parent directory, I change its view to Thumbnails and all the child folders that have the album art in them show up as mini-previews in the folder image.
I'm using Windows XP and I've been having problems with some MP3 files in regards to album artwork and tagging. I've discovered that it's my album folders that have been tagged (most likely by me) to have a custom Folder Picture.I want to remove all the Folder Pictures from my music album folders. I fear I will have to do one by one (which is a LOT!) unless I can find a reverse procedure in the program I suspect caused this to happen. That program is Tag&Rename, and I suspect I accidentally added custom pictures to these folders when I was adding album art to the individual music files
I have a report regarding a couple of high risk temporary internet files that are supposedly located inside certain content.ie5 folders, but those particular folders aren't showing up in any of the user profiles of this system. How do I locate them? I've done a normal search for folders named content.ie5 with 8 folders showing up, but none show the number-letter folders listed on the report. I've done a search in the XP registry and even the content.ie5 folders don't appear anywhere. Tried doing a search on just the number-letter subfolders mentioned and still nothing.I have all files and folders not hidden, including subfolders, but obviously XP ignores that direction with regard to these 'history' or 'temp int files' folders. The report came from SpyDoctor on a trial run prior to purchasing the program, so it can't remove them without purchase/registration. I've been able to remove all others listed in the report manually but not these entries because I can't locate them anywhere. If they don't show up anywhere, how does spydoctor find them?
I know this is probably a very simple fix but I can't seem to remember it. When I open windows explorer (xp home) to view files and folders it is not showing me all of them. For example, under c:documents and settings it does not show "local settings..." and all the subfolders. And, when I installed Office it created an install cache folder but it doesn't show that either. How do I turn it on to show all? There is no prompt to "show hidden files". its probably something real simple that I am overlooking.
Hi everybody. Since a couples of days, when I clic on a folder into the left panel of Windows explorer, it takes really long and is Very, very slow to show up the related contained folders and/or its contents in my Windows explorer's right panel. I have a Pentium4 processor and additional 3GB of rams I also tried to adjust my PC for best performances in "advanced" Performances/properties of MY Computer.
I had this computer for a year or so and about month ago,the little boxes on the blue taskbar at the bottom of the screen stopped showing up I can still open the windows with the ctrl alt delete command to open the task manager, but theres no way to switch between two open windows without that.
I know you can either hover over a folder in Explorer or right click, click properties and get the folder size - but what I want is a fix or utility that allows me to see multiple folders, ala Explorer, and see their size displayed - the way it does for individual files on the DETAILS setting
i have a pentium 4 with windows xp, service pack 2, thats been infected with a virus that prevents me from checking show hidden files and folders radio box. The virus is named ''0hct8ybw'' and from my research its quite new and first showd itself on 12 february 2008 and google has next to nothing about it. mcafee has totaly nothing and i have no idea what to do next.
My friend has some important photos in his memory card which is in cell phone. They are not appearing in the cell phone. But, they are appearing in my PC when connected using the data cable (USB) and after checked the option "show hidden files and folders". They are reappearing in the cell phone after deleting and recopying the files to cell phone. My question is ,the "show hidden files and folders" is a option in windows based operating systems. But, why it is effecting the memory card. Why they are not appearing in the cell phone.
i got hit by some virus(trojan i think ) and try to run norton but notron cannot clean some suspect file. it show error opening (Access denied)[4] or error opening (folder locked)[4]after running norton i found that 'folder options' from Tools command is disappear i download and repaire registary as kiwiguy suggest.Read the heading as to how to apply these Registry "fixes", and then scroll down to number 129 and click on it to download the registry script to correct this problem. now i can see 'folder options' but cannot find 'show hidden file and folder' check box.
If the option to enable "Show Hidden Files and Folders" is MISSING from your Folders Options > View > Advanced Settings, find this key in your registry:[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAdvancedFolderHidden]Modify the string value "Type" and enter "group" as value data. After the edit is complete hit F5 to refresh, and go look in your Folder Options.
I was just wondering if it is a good idea to clean out the :WINDOWSTempC:Documents And Settings(Username)Local SettingsTemp foldersperiodically.I know i have to uncheck the show hidden files and folders, Do i select all in each folder afterwards and delete everything?
I am running Windows XP Home Edition, and have gotten help here before from Cheeseball1! (Whom was just wonderful!) Here is the problem...I went to my Music file to listen to some music and my folder was filled with numerous pics of albums and the title on them all started with Album Art. I deleted them and BAM they were back again as copies. As many as 26 each! Do I have a major probem here? Noone else uses the computer but myself and I have no idea where these ALBUM ARTs came from.
1. Make a folder of your favorite artist and copy audio files to that folder.2. Rename any '.jpg' file to folder.jpg. Resize to 200 x 200.3. Copy and rename the folder.jpg to AlbumArtSmall.jpg. Resize to 75 x 75.The Album Art will now adjust automatically to fit the now playing window in Full Mode.* You can use the 'Resize Picture' included in the WinXP Powertoys for resizing.
The following link says that:Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 is not a time-limited or Please note: Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0 is not a time-limited or Learn about the key features in Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0.http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshopalbum/starter.html But in my book it is I had it for 15 days, then it wants me to register which it will not allow me to do without some kind of code number which I don't have unless I purchase it.The only way to get the registration window to close is to reboot my computer?
Is there a way to select which album art Media Player uses to represent a particular genre? Here's my situation In a particular genre jazz I have 2 albums that have album art and 4 that do not. When I display the list of genres, the no art generic icon is used. I want to change it to display one of the albums that DO have art.I've been looking on Microsoft's support site, and I see how to create your own album art using jpg's in your files ,but that's not what I'm asking. I'm asking how to select which album art Media Player 11 displays when listing the contents of the library.
I'm sure I am overlooking something obvious, but numerous recent problems with my system seem to be (hopefully) tied to the same source.I just don't know what it is.I am running windows XP home, service pack one (I have recently reverted back from SP2 thinking it may be the cause of the problems) 1) Any and all telnet type programs refusing to connect to any host (telnet, zmud, gmud, etc) In the case of zmud I can observe that my computer is in no way interfacing with another machine. telnet error is 'unable to contact host machine' 2) Windows media player (version 10) is unable to retrieve album info. Instead I immediately get a standard IE 'page cannot be displayed' screen. 3) Unable to register for many programs such as Gracenote. In the case of gracenote I recieve a 'socket open failed' error message.I am not currently running any firewall. I only hae a 56k internet connection, so the instantaneous negative connection responses many of my programs display make it fairly obvious that this is a problem with my machine. I hope it is some silly xp setting I need to change.
Notice considerable lag when doing the following simple tasks: use the dialog boxes to browse folders (save as, etc) is slow ,double clicking my computer or any folders is slow, right click and create new folders is slow, clicking START button and going to programs is slow
when i opened up my favourites folder in explorer some of my folders have disappeared my daughter has been on the computer but swears she has not even opened favourites, can anyone tell me why this has happened and if it is possible to retrieve my folders.I have tried system restore but it did not help
whenever i clicked on a large video file in explorer (running xp sp2 on inspiron 6000), explorer would crash. i found a tip online to run "regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll" and that fixed the problem completely. however, this fix created a new problem - - now all the info that used to be under "artist" or "album" is gone! any fix? "date modified" is still there, but i like to sort my mp3 folders by artist, and now it does me no good.
I appear to have folders and subfolders in my Favourites list which i cannot get rid of, ive tried right hand clicking but no options are available, ive also tried organise favourites Also, i have an unwanted toolbar that pops up at the bottom of my screen with things like Travel, Casino etc which i think the Favourites may be linked in some way i have no idea how to find the source on my computer to delete it. i regularly delete my cookies.
but i got a music folder with close to 100 seperate artist folders inside....all of which contain mp3's from various artists. (About 1200 mp3 files all inside these 100 folders...all inside 1 folder if that makes any sense)I'm thinking about moving all those mp3's outside there folders so that i have just one continuous stream of mp3's. Basically i want just my mp3's inside the main folder without their individual artist folder.
When i turn my computer on the icons don't show up, i can see my desktop pic and the pointer in the middle that's it, what's the problem? i have tried restarting in safe mode but get a blank screen
About two days ago I can't seem to open the majority of webpages, everything just comes up as an error message, event the stuff in "Favorites". I have no clue why. I called the internet company and everything is OK. Some of the pages open and usually the same ones do, so it isn't a connection problem. the rest just say "Internet Explorer Can't Show the Page" or something to that effect.I've used Superantispyware, bitdefender, Nod32 and Spybot. Sounds like a configuration thing? Forgot to mention that after turning off windows firewall, some pages (like this one) came back, but most others didn't.
I have WindowsXP Pro. And in the WindowsXP, I have 3 account, 1. Account1 with password as Administrator 2. Account2 without password as Administrator 3. Guest I always login as Account1, and I install all applications using Account1. I just check Account2 and Guest, not all the software that I installed are showing up in those 2 accounts. Does anyone know why? Is there anything I can do to show all applications that I installed?
I thought I had it solved before, but it isn't. I do not know why my cd-r and cd-rw do not show in Windows Explorer. Only the floppy disk does. My cd drives do show in my computer and I seem to have fixed it in the send to list, but checking Windows Explorer they still are not there. They seem to work fine. I have Windows XP Home, Sp 2. I have Roxio Easy CD Creator installed but never use it except to erase a cd. I have Spyware Doctor and Norton Internet Security 2006. I'm pretty sure that wouldn't make any difference though
