I have a friend who has a problem with his laptop. I've read that an executable has to be run to enable a service needed... however I can't run that from the command prompt offered on the recovery console of the XP Home cd. (someone else's CD since his version is OEM and there is no cd that he has).

I badly need your support. Day before yesterday (01-Aug-06) night I upgraded the yahoo toolbar and used their norton anti spy to scan. Then I shut down the system and started to work the next day. Every thing is perfectly ok except for one thing. In Windows Explorer, on any folder or drive if I double click or open I get a crash. If I do explore then there is no problem.
Computer runs slow at times and I thought I would turn off some start off objects but some of the objects are confusing. I don't know exactly which ones to turn off and which ones to leave on. Other software is working, the netscape browser don't have such error. i've try to use mcafee ant-virus to scan the computer but nothing seems wrong and i use "spyware doctor 4"to san and delete all trojan but i still can not open "my computer"and "IE" then i uninstall the "IE" but the error is still remainn.

I have a logitech mouse that has a smooth scrolling wheel no ratcheting. I wonder if it was possible to set up scrolling to scroll pixel by pixel rather than line by line.
