Lop.com And Searchweb2 Errors?
Aug 13, 2005
I've had a problem with these for months. Norton Antivirus (updated)
couldn'y stop this and I use XP Home SP2 (automatically updated). I've tried
running Ad-Aware SE Personal, CWShredder, SpywareBlaster, Spybot Search and
Destroy and Microsoft AntiSpyware and am currently using EZArmor. None of
these remove the problems I get. I've been told of HijackThis but have been
warned against using it as I am not an advanced computer user. How can I get
rid of these problems?
The main problems are:
1) Unsolicited desktop icons that keep returning when deleted e.g. Casino
Online, Find a Date, etc.
2) Unsolicited folders in favourites that cannot be deleted e.g. Cool Stuff,
Online Gaming, Shopping Gifts, etc.
3) A thick blue menu bar at the bottom of screen with click on items and
pull-downs menus of things similar to the above. The blue bar cannot be
removed by clicking on the red X in top RH corner.
4) Home page often reverts to Searchweb.com and has to keep being changed back
5) In "Tools", "Pop-up blocker settings" is set to "high" but still lists
lop.com and searchweb2 as being allowed even if I keep removing them.
6) I get scam emails every so often, mostly for prescription drugs, loans,
mortgages, etc.
7) I get regular pop-up advertisements
8) Internet frequently has to close itself down because it has "a fault" -
whether this is due to any of the above, I don't know.

When I start the computer, I get a screen freeze and have to press Ctrl,Alt,Del once before any programs will startup. A lot of probs with internet connection and slowness while surfing as well as a lot of pop up ads in my face.
There are system boxes coming up with registry and dll errors and the whole system seems SLOW.

The family computer is playing up and to the best of my knowledge the computer in question just simply suddenly stopped working as it should. I am unable to get the 'default' welcome screen upon start up and am getting the logon box where you type in a username and passworld. I know how to get rid of this, user accounts>enable welcome screen - but it will not solve the problem. This is just the start of the problems. I get a whole host of errors which popup one after another.

I am being shown "script error","page error, you may need to change browser
settings",and "behind firewall" when I try and send files and photos. I've
tried everything I know to fix this, but I still see these errors and still
cannot send photos while I'm online.

.dll errors. Not a single one in particular. Random ones. Two today were mshtml.dll and ietutil.dll. Microsoft has some, but not for an XP computer. I do not know anymore if it is a service pack 2 or 3 since my brother in law took our Compaq computer and made one on his own with old and new parts. What are .dll and why do these errors keep popping up.

When SP3 first came out, I jumped at the opportunity to update my perfectly running smooth computer with SP3 for windows. As soon as I did install SP3, nothing seemed to work correctly anymore and I had to end up reformatting my computer. It destroyed my perfectly good up to date computer. Yes I have a genuine copy of Windows XP if that's what you were about to say. So my question is, did anyone else every have a problem with SP3, are their known issues, and should I risk installing it again? I have always believed in if its not broke, then dont fix it. Well, sometimes my high hopes and curiosity of updating will improve performance from what it already is, gets me in trouble sometimes. Let me know guys. I will hold off for a bit.

I am running Win 2000. My computer will restart (no hanging even, just turn off and back on) while I'm looking at flash media on the net, using photo/art programs, or viewing a word document with pictures in it. Mostly media related things. It also crashes for running defrag or disk cleanup.
When it restarts it's a blue screen stop error. I don't recall what it said exactly, but it's not difficult to get it back. If I keep restarting, I'll keep getting that error. If I wait a minute or so and then restart, it'll come on correctly.
Win 2000 is on D and Win 98 is on C. When 2000 crashes it does something to C because then 98 won't start untill 2000 comes on and repairs the C drive. But now 98 won't come on at all. If I turn on 98 I get an error, so then I'll try 2000 but it won't start for a while after 98 crashes. I don't see why crashes on D affect C and vice versa.
That probably wasn't enough to tell what's wrong.what I should do?

The procedure entry point DdEntry1 could not be located in the dynamic link library GDI32.dll
That's the error message I'm getting. I get it from the ATI and XFire. Also, I can't play certain games anymore, because they are prompting me to download dx9.0c

I ran scans in both and ran the auto fixes for both. but now i am geting start up error

1---I have just WAYYYYY to many pop-ups about 6-8 an hour, even on idle computer.
2---It is so slow. When minimizing a page, I watch it close from the top of the screen to the bottom and that takes 15 seconds, and sometimes my icons are missing when it finally fully minimizes.
3---After booting up it takes me a good 5 minutes before the mouse's "time-sand" icon to dissappear, therefore not letting me do anything with the computer right away.
4--Sometimes when using websites like "google" or "yahoo" from internet explorer, there is a big delay from when I type in the words, and those words to appear on the screen.
5---Streaming movies from websites are rarely synchronized with the sound and the picture on the screen, something that none of my friends have.
6--I revently purchased an external hard drive, and ever since doing that a message comes up within seconds of turning on my computer that reads something along the lines of "Unkown Devise, hit any key" then it boots up normally (note: The slowness of the computer has happened way before the external harddrive, and purchased it with hopes that would cure some of the problems)

So this started about a week or so. At first i simply had thought i had a bad virus but i scan my entire computer and all i found was cookies and what not. Soon my computer started randomly shutting down on me and a blue screen comes up. It pretty much says i have some errors and i should check CHKDSK/ F to see if i had any corrupition on my files.. Well i didn't exactly get it so i googled the stuff. I came to the conclusion that my computer has A LOT of computer errors. (use Regcure free trial) even though it couldn't delete.

So I started up my computer a few days ago to find it telling me I had a missing or corrupt file in windowssystem32configsystem. Now when I bought my computer I was sold the XP home license, and it just came with my computer, and have never needed the setup CD.So I went to the place I bought it, told them what happened they burned me a copy.So I boot off the cd, and enter the setup repair, it asks me for a password, I have never had one, default past with enter and continue on to try and fix it.Now this is where it gets interesting, I restarted to see if I had fixed the problem, and when it restarted my computer seemed to begin to load windows, when my computer suffered a LSASS.exe error, and restarts. So it eventually allows me to go back to the setup repair, but this time when it asks for a password, it doesn't allow me to default past by hitting enter. It tells me I have entered an incorrect admin password and after 3 tries, it says I have failed 3 times and then restarts. So I Googled the problem, and found it might have something to do with Sysrep(which im not familiar with) I have some important files on the computer I need rescued.
Basically what I am wondering is if there is a way to bypass this new password problem, or any way I could extract certain files from my hard drive without repairing windows.

When I right click almost anything I get the explorer has encountered a problem and has to close. always the faulting module kernel32.dll. Then immediately another box appears with the drwatson postmortem debugger has encountered a problem and needs to close, I then have to ctrl alt del to close the drwtsn.exe and get my desktop back.
I have been having problems in psp7 with ntdll being the faulting module.
I run the bare minimum start up programs and have ran all virus and spyware scans. I have googled this problem until.
Im running windows xp pro sp2. AMD 2400
Have loads of disk space and plenty of free RAM.LV.

I've been experiencing random crashes of Explorer.exe, and when looking at the Application window of the Event Viewer it details this:
Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2800.1106, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.1106, fault address 0x00001d24.
I searched around the internet and found no real answer, there's some solutions which require using the Data Execution Prevention tab with SP2, and adding explorer.exe to the list. I plan to try this, but I was wondering, would replacing ntdll.dll with another computer's possibly fix the problem? It's been an annoyance now for a month, and I've ran every virus scan, every spyware/malware/ware-ness program known to man, to no avail.

Ever so recently, since a few days ago, I have started receiving 'RUNDLL' Errors as soon as I boot up, I'll be at the Windows Welcome screen when I hear that annoying 'BONG' sound that I got an error.
3 Errors Pop Up and I will list them here.
Name: C:WINDOWSConfigcsrss.exe
Description: Windows cannot find 'C:WINDOWSConfigcsrss.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again, to search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search. (It seems that it is an error after I SEARCH for a file, but I never did, it just comes up on start-up

I had a power outage about a week ago and since then a printer I had previously connected, Lexmark X5495, started acting up by turning on & off on it's own at all hours of the day. Today I removed the printer software from my computer after numerous failed attempts and now I am left with two errors on my computer since the removal of such software for this dumb printer. The error messages I get when I turn on/reboot my computer are the following:
C:WINDOWSsystem32spoolDRIVERSW32X863LXBTtime.dll
C:WINDOWSSYSTEM32spoolDRIVERSW32X863LXCVtime.dll

I had some problems recently and with the help of one of the TSG locals, I located and got rid of a malicious file. However, I had a problem at that time that I could not resolve, and am still trying to beat it down. Now I am beginning to get random errors I can only run Spybot S & D in safe mode. Progress bar for it will show it at about 39.../56120. Then the system reboots itself, sometimes twice...and sometimes there comes the message that my computer has recoverd from a serious problem I have a similar problem with running PandaScan, it just won't make it all the way through.I know I have tons of stuff running in the background and would like to cut out as many of those as I can, I've just not gotten that far yet.I'm posting my HJT log in hopes someone can help spot my culprit.

I've given up.. This problem has been occuring for quite awhile now and I'm really clueless as to what is causing it. I've conducted a destructive system recovery via the copy of windows on my HDD twice, and also from a windows CD. I've ran memtest for both my RAM and HD and both tests always come back OK... The errors occur randomly.. sometimes my computer can stay on for 4+ hours without one, sometimes they appear within 30mins of turning on my PC.I'm a computer newbie, but I wrote down some info from the last blue screen errors:
Quote: STOP: 0x000000D1
SYMTDI.sys - Address BADC3DB7
STOP: 0x0000008E
Win32k.sys - Address BF8011A3 The most common errors I remember included something about either one of the following:
DRIVER_IRQL _NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
I've attatched the minidump files I have since last re-booting my system. I hope I've provided enough info.

Recently i have been having lots of crc errors whilst unzipping files. My initial thought was that one of my hard drives was on its way out. I had checked them all using the manufacturers diagnotic ultility (Seatools) with all testing features and each one, on all drives, returned without error. I thought my suspicions were confirmed when i turned my drive on for the BIOS not to recognise one of my SATA's (a Barracuda 7200.11). After a bit of research i found out that this was prob not the cause of my crc errors as the SD15 version of the firmware supplied with my drive had a bug and causes the drive to go into a hibernated state, a separate issue i'm trying to deal with. After removing this particular hard drive along with Vista out of my system i installed win XP onto another drive temporarily. I am having the same problems with the CRC errors on my other drives which seem to be operating normally. The kind of files i'm talking about are fairly large usually demos or trailers etc in .rar format.
As i understand it CRC errors can also come from faulty RAM. I have recently RMA'd some faulty RAM back to OCZ and the stuff in my system currently is the brand new RAM i got sent back from my RMA. I know this can be causing the CRC errors and occasional random restarts regardless of how new it is so i have checked both sticks individually using memtest86. I only had time to let them do 1 pass each but both came through error free.If any of you out there have any suggestions for what else i can do to figure out what is wrong i would very much appreciate it. Could it be a lack of wattage on the psu causing the restarts? Processor? I'm stuck,
