Keyboard Commands Does Not Do Any Thing
Sep 27, 2005For some reason CTRL + ALT + DEL doesn't do anything on my computer. i don't even know the proper term for what it does do, but i would appreciate any explanation alternative.

Keyboard Quit Working Restarted Did't Do Any Thing
Oct 18, 2007I have an emachine that is a few years old that my high school daughter uses. Today when she was typing a paper for school it got stuck on all caps, then it just quit working all together. I took the keyboard and put it on my computer and it works fine. My keyboard doesn't work on her computer either. I restarted which didn't help. I also retored the computer to yesterday's back up. That didn't work either. This computer does have some age on it but I was hoping to get it to last her until she gets that college laptop.

Jul 24, 2006I have a fairly new computer running Win XP. On it, I had an older Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse with appropriate software. The keyboard died, so I bought a new cheapie that connects via USB. And I still have the wireless mouse. Since the change, my computer has slowed horribly, with keyboard and mouse commands, in particular, taking too long to register. I have removed the Logitech Itouch keyboard software (not the Mouseware),and installed the new keyboard software. I have defragged, scanned for viruses, and used Ad-Aware and Spy Sweeper to see if I had some clogging spyware.

Another one was: Microsoft Out of Bounds. I have Windows XP Home Edition with all updates.I have ZoneAlarm free and McAffee AntiVirus.Nothing has been detected.

Jan 30, 2005I have a friends PC, a gateway P4 2.6, winxp home. The mouse and keyboard up and died. He had a kvm switch, the electronic kind when it stopped functioning. I have tried usb, ps2 everything. The keyboard works on bootup, so I can get into bios etc... but when it gets to the windows screen, nothing. No mouse or keyboard. Safe mode is the same thing. Dont want to format and reinstall windows. On that note, I did try a repair, when it asks for admin password it wont accept it. Says invalid admin password.. The password IS windows admin password though. With no mouse even in safemode, and windows not accepting my admin password during repair,

May 10, 2008I just finished assembling my new build. It boots and I can get to the BIOS. I even have it booting from the DVD drive so I can load Win XP.However, when I get to the Windows Setup and it asks me if I want to setup windows(press enter), Repair(some other key), quit(F3) my keyboard won't work. I hit "Enter" because I want to install XP and nothing happens. It is not responding to my keyboard strokes.
This is strange because the keyboard works in the BIOS.
Can't Hear A Thing
Jul 3, 2005I bought speakers and cannot hear a thing. I get this error mesage that says there are no active mixer devices available and then i got another one that said no audio devices currently installed on your machine. I did all the steps in the support/help area but nothing works. ALso, when I try to adjust the volume the area is light gray and you cannot click on it to adjust.

Jun 24, 2005I just got my SP2 CD in the mail today from Microsoft. I put the CD in, and it runs through the steps, and then it asks to reboot, I click okay. The computer will reboot to the second black screen, then then it will have the XP logo and under it: "Please wait...", and i let my computer sit like that for about 2 hours, and nothing happened. So I manually shut the computer off, when in, and unstalled it, and then put the disk back in and when through the wizard. The same exact thing happened, and I waited 2 hours and nothing happens, so I had to manually reboot.

Mar 29, 2007Had a problem about a month ago with some things on here so i formatted the hdd and installed winxp pro. Was going ok for about a week then the error messages were non stop. Kept saying windows had to shut down because of a hardware problem, yet never did find out what it was. Anyways i did a total format and am trying to instal winxp again. I have a win98se boot disk. It gets half way through the installation then i get all kinds of error messages about files couldn't be loaded or files not found. Don't these files come from the cd?? it is a original cd that i have. some of the msg are: file i386halacpi.dll not found, syntax error in the .sif file and the list goes on then it says setup cannot continue.
