Recently I had a BSOD problem 0x000007b after running ComboFix and so I ran a repair XP SP2/3 and the Blue Screen is gone but now during the Repair steps screen (The light blue screen with Step 1, Step2 and the Ads on the right for the various programs) I get lsass.exe Invalid Parameters Passed and a prompt "Ok" which reboots my computer.
The other day on boot up I received an "lsass.exe error, invalid parameter" screen. Clicking "OK" just continued the boot up and error message in a loop. This has been a common problem for folks. Although I could not determine (due to the state of the system) if in was a virus or a corrupt file, I was finally able to coerce, after many varied attempts, an overlay install of XP Pro. However, all that was on my hard drive dissapeared (programs, settings, files).
Although, when I went to reinstall some items (Adobe Acrobat, for example) it stated that it was still resident on drive. Further, when I went to do a defrag, it stated that it was not needed (probably because of the small amount of recent installation) but the graph showed 20 gigs of space taken up (my original 18+ gigs and the new install). So, the original installed volume is still on the drive yet I can not see it or access it.
I have a Dell Dimension L866r with 512 mb. of ram . I have my bios set to boot from CDrom first, then my harddrive. When I boot my computer up with the XP Home disk in it all I get is Invalid System disk.
I left my computer on for about 3 hours, when I returned the screen was black with the a message First time this happened INVALID System Disk Replace Disk and then press any key There is or was no 3 1/2 floppy disk in the computer. Every time I hit any key nothing would happen. When I would reboot I would get to the same screen with the same message and nothing would happen. Then I would reboot again and when that screen would come our I would insert a 3 1/2 Floppy into the computer and the computer would start up. So now the only time I can get the computer to start up I must insert a 3 1/2 floppy.
I'm running xp home edition on my dell system. When I tried to boot up, the screen went black and I got the system error message. From there you can only click ok, the system reboots and goes thfough the same process. It also does it in safe mode. I've tried to use "the last known working configuration" from the f8 screen, same thing.I was going to try a repair install, but for some reason I have a xp pro disk, not home edition. Can I do a repair using this disk (it's a dell disk)? Or am i going to have to wipe everything out and install xp pro to get the system to work.
An external hard drive. When it is on & I try to boot,I get the following error : Invalid system disk Replace the disk, and then press any key I then have to turn off the external & press any key to get it to boot. Is there a way that I can boot with that external turned on. Some setting I need to change perhaps? I have an E-Machines computer about 2 years old.
I couldnt install the service pack 2 because the installation says my product keys are unvalid and it gave a website to find the solution to my problem. But I couldn't find anything that fits my situation from this website... It's www.howtotell.com. I have the valid product keys now but couldnt find a way how to reenter it. Is there anything to do beside reinstall WinXP? I have another CD with valid product key.
My son gets the message "invalid system disk, replace the disk, then press play" , when booting up, he started getting it after inputting a picture from a "smart card" using his built in card reader. There is NO disk in the reader. If you hit any key the computer continues to boot "normal" It isn't a big problem, but a sign of something not being right.
Does anyone know how to correct the following error appears at startup; The procedure entry point set keyboard filter hook could not be located in the dynamic link library?
I get this error when booting up from an xp pro disc rite after it sais it's analyzing hardware it shows this..

If you could give me advice lol.. on the internet all it tells me is it's a cd issue, cables, hd, memmory etc. but I have no clue as im a hardware noob :X the only thing I checked really is it's not a cd rom drive shaking issue or one with the hard drives since I disconnected that
When i try to get into google or yahoo or most webpages i get an error page coming up and invalid syntax error in the top blue section. I also could not download the latest java because the security section would not allow it.

I think I got virus, even though norton work 2004 cant dectected but everytime startup its say that (invalid boot disk...please insert...) and I have to put in my winxp in cd drive to boot up. I am trying to help a friend with their laptop. It is a fairly new Dell laptop (about 2 years old) running Windows XP. They don't know if one of there kids downloaded something with a virus or what caused the issue. I have never dealt with this sort of issue before. When trying to boot the computer, one receives the following error after the Windows XP splash screen: "The application or DLL C:WINDOWSsystem32DNsapI.dll is not a valid Windows Image. Please check this against your installation diskette."
I'm not a complete n00b and i got rid of isass.exe which was causing my system to shut down in 60 seconds. However I haven't been able to stop another problem I have which is the Generic Host Process for Win32 Services problem that usually comes with blaster. I doubt that it's blaster though. also could anyone suggest a good security combo I could use. Anti Virus Firewall and Anti Spyware I've become quite used to NOD32 and I don't like using the other memory hogs... I need suggestions for anti spyware and firewall that would go with NOD32.. or just any good solution that would prevent this from happening again and that wouldnt consume all my memory up.
I finished downloading a Windows automatic update. Before the update, I had no errors (use Norton), but now I have an unfixable "missing or invalid file extension" error .wll. The program it relates to is Word.Addin.8, whatever that is. I wouldn't even care, but I was getting this message for awhile before my computer crashed last November. Google mentions something about "memory leaks" in Word. I'm clueless.
new error message on start up "Invalid BOOT.INI boot from windowsC://" fixable? . also cleaned my LARGE prefetch folder and it has remained empty for a month ...?Been online 10 years never had a virus worm or trojan was hijacked once or twice and had a porn dialer ( it wasn't me honest!) bury itself in my system
i have a 250GB Hard Drive and I used Western Digital's Data Lifeguard Tools 11 Tools to allow Windows to recognize all 250GB and break the 24-bit barrier. When I install Windows XP Pro, it goes through the format and the file setup fine (as far as I know) and then when it goes to boot, it goes right back into the Setup Config...it doesn't go on to install Windows. When the disk is taken out it just continually restarts and claims that there is an invalid BOOT.INI.
Code '413' when i tried to log on here . started yesterdad evening .turned comp off and on that seemed to get rid of it .but came on the comp this morning and all was fine .then after a short time the messages started appearing again . trying to log in to hotmail i got the invalid header . in another hot i got in tryed to delete and got invalid header i think . tryed to send a message on a forum got invalid verb . last night on the comp shopper forum i could send if i put my message in the title box and 2 words in the message box but if i tried to put more words in the message box got invalid verb . tryed turning on and off today but no luck there . have an advent 9317 with duo 2 core . fire wall is zone alarm pro . antivirus is nod32 and webroot sweeprr as spyware . went on firefox and the same thing happened.
i disabled all my remote access functions including procedure and registry. i'm embarrassed to confess i was trying to improve my firewall.anyways now i've lost all remote/user function. i'm unable to change my user account, enable the services (through properties) or do a system restore.
Recently I've been trying to install XP SP2 on a system that was recovered using an XP upgrade disc that only had SP1. The setup program gets through backing up, creating a restore point and so on, but during the actual file installation process, an error causes setup to abort and undo all changes made (rollback). "Service Pack 2 Setup Error." is the title bar, and "The system cannot find the path specified." is the message, the only option is to click ok, which opens the XP SP2 uninstall wizard. I've tried using Subinacl to reset security settings, tried installing in both safe and normal modes, used chkdsk /r and /p and tried installing again, and each time got the same message.
I have Win XP Home Edition, my computer crashed last night and I had to re-install windows. I've been installing all my window updates but I keep getting an error for Service Pack 1. "The core system file (kernel) used to this computer is not a Microsoft Windows file." And Service Pack 2 has been trying to download to my D drive, which is an external hard drive.
