Have a laptop that i got in 2003 and i bought microsoft office pro with it. well my laptop is having problems and i have an extended warranty on it, the company said that the harddrive might have to be formated and i should backup everything. since my laptop didn't come with office and the cd got lost with the move to college, is there a way to copy the office program files? what im talking about is how with a game you can copy the folder .programs files/ea games/need for speed. like that and if you copy that folder to another computer it will work without having to be installed. i know its not in the registry.
This morning I found the computer unexpectedly hung up on "e:setup trying to install Microsoft Office 2003, but can't find installer." I didn't initiate anything, but after cancelling out repeatedly and restarting, it happened again.I restored the Registry First Aid registry backup from last night's scan and on reboot did not get the message . But, I've had random instances lately where the "explorer.exe" hangs on reboot. My Logitech keyboard died, and Friday night I tried to install software for new Microsoft keyboard and mouse new from Costco. It appeared to install, but I couldn't hook it up without it's s saying it wasn't found and did I want to uninstall old keyboard, etc
I have Microsoft Office 2003 on my computer. When I run disk cleanup, under the files to delete it lists Office Setup Files. I never want to delete these files. So my question is, how do I get this option for deleting these files out of disk cleanup so it doesn't check these files every time I open the program.
i have windows XP home edition service pack 3. and i use Microsoft office 2003, and well recently it began to pop up and say microsoft office word has not been installed for current user. please run setup utility. Well i only have one user, never had another user created until recently (temporary fix) is there anything i can do, the main user is called the owner, it says its the computer admin, but i guess there is still an admin user, i cant get to that. the only way i can get ms office to work was to create a new user, open all the office programs, export the office registry, and import it to my main user, thats the only thing that works, for a little bit.
I am trying to install xp onto my new hdd. it goes through the formality of formating then it starts to copy files from cd to my hdd then all of a sudden it cant copy files. it is random(not a particalar file) some times at 5% 20% 80% ect:..but i can install winme no problems..then i try to install xp over the top of winme and i get the same problem..I have even taken my copy(originall) of xp to my friends and it installs with no problems at all..then i have taken their disk drive back to my machine, connected it and xp boots up with my motherboard..all is ok...but, when i do a fresh install with xp on their hdd i get the same problem..no settings in bios have been altered in anyway..
So I have a laptop without a CD drive and I've done this before so I know it came be done, just can't seem to find the googled page that i found last time with the how to. I want to take the laptop HD out and put it into a USB mobile disk enclosure, then from my desktop in my windows xp RUN command I wanna set the XP CD in the drive to copy all its install files to the blank HD and start the XP installation but NOT RESTART after its done. Then take the HD out of the enclosure, pop it back into the laptop, boot up and have the install do the rest from there.
My computer didn't come with an XP CD, just the manufacturer's restore CD which will wipe out all I've done in the last four years. So, if I backup (copy) all the files on my C drive, except the Windows folder (assuming that's where all the OS files are), to an external drive, then run the restore CD which will revert the computer back to the way it was when I bought it. Then download and install SP2 and copy the original files back to C.
I had bought several hard drives as is, hoping one of them would work. thought I had one, but turned out I couldn't install XP onto the disk, wouldn't copy any files. so I pretty much cut my loss on the drives and removed it the bad one from pc. now I get 2 options when booting windows. my original xp install, and the 2nd install that still needs to complete, how can I stop it from wanting to install xp again from the boot file and keep the original settings as they were?
I currently have Windows XP Professional on a HP Pavillion .542 Right now when i start up it goes past the thing where is shows the microsoft logo and then my screen goes blank. can I stop xp from trying to install an old programme? which doesn't work and I can't delete? I have a copy of roxio media creator which doesn't work since I reset windows to an earlier point, the prog can't find a certificate and questions the system date so won't install. it won't delete either for the same reasons and every time I try to copy files it tries to install the damn thing, unsuccessfully
I just bought this discounted student version of microsoft office, however, when I downloaded the program it does not work. I click on microsoft word or whichever program and it will not open.
My problems began when I tried to download Microsoft Office 7 on a trial basis on my laptop. I wasn't successful (don't remember exactly what my problem was). I restarted my computer and came up with a Windows Installer problem that I couldn't clear with Windows Installer cleanup or an upgrade to Windows Installer 4.5 (?). I could access the Internet, but not my email on Outlook 3.I decided to do a full reload of Windows XP Pro on the laptop. That apparently went well, but now I cannnot connect to the Internet (Windows Firewall is disabled). Access to email is okay on my desktop, and experts at AT&T U-Verse assure me that the problem is in my laptop.
Opened up my microsoft office for windows xp and at the top where it has the BOLD AND UNDERLINING buttons it's not there anymore. I can't find it. If i want to underline or BOLd a word i have to do it manually by highlighting the word and clicking on FORMANT >FONT. I was just wondering if anyone knew how to bring those buttons back so i don't have to do it manually.
Recently reading a computer mag and noticed that their was a print screen showing Microsoft Word. Microsoft a different colour it was blue and orage, so my question is how do I change my settings to show the same?
for anyone that hasn't followed my threads, My computer is new, and I am just now learning XP. My computer came with XP installed, already on it. I have no CD"S or Programs at all, with it. I have this icon on my desktop that gives me a TRIAL verson, of Microsoft office 2003! Then I have to buy it. Yes, it aggravates me that this isn't already on here. Is there any place possible I can download this from? I have looked on the microsoft websight, and couldn't find it.
A few months ago, after a long night out, I came home and got online.I'm not quite sure what happened, but I woke up, and I had lost all my Office applications. Every single one. Now I'm guessing I deleted it. No, Im not sure why either. My pc is second hand, and did not come with a boot disk. Also, I have litterally no money to sort this problem out.So I'm just wondering, if there is a way I would be able to get it back, for free. I tried restoring it too, but I can't restore it back to the date I lost it. I kinda wish I had sorted this out sooner. Then I could of restored it.

looking on ebay for a new copy of microsoft office. I have been seeing these offers for these other programs from other countries that are supposed to be very much like microsoft office. They are very inexpensive but claim to do the same things and even import and export the same files as MS office. What I am asking is are these things illegal? Do they really work?
Uninstalled microsoft office 2003. she says it is still showing in add and remove she gets this error file-sku112.cab--the problem is she doesn't have the office disk that came with computer in 2005. i seached several forums on this problem there doesn't seem to be a simple solution without the orignal disk.
I just noticed, when trying to do my daughters homework, that I no longer have the Office Folder or Short Cut. It must have disappeared as a result of my work done on this machine after it was impacted by Malware VX2. That is the only thing I can think of. I cant locate the Office discs so I cant reload. If I find a WORD document, I can open it and use WORD. HOW CAN I RESTORE THE TOOL BAR in Windows XP without the Office disc?
So earlier I was installing a update for my MS Office and one of them was Office XP Service Pack 3 and during the installation, my computer crashed so I had to reboot and when I logged back into Windows, the updates came up again. I installed them fine and then afterwards when I tried starting up Microsoft Word, it gave me an error and says ''Error 2771. An internal error has occurred. RemoveOPSExtensionFeature) Contact Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS) for assistance. For information about how to contact PSS, see C:ProgramFilesMicrosoftOfficeOffice101033PSS10R.CHM.'' I have tried re-installing, uninstalling and I keep on getting the same error.
For some reason i get an error when downloading a game and people say that deleting Microsoft Office Excel 2003 worked for them. So i went to delete it in the Add/Remove programs but i couldn't find it. Can anyone help me delete this. I want to completely remove it from my PC.
