I recently manually moved my email files to a different folder. When I opened Outlook Express all of my emails were GONE. I then moved them back and it did not bring them back. The files are in my documents, I have tried to import them back into Outlook Express and it does not work, it only goes back to 2 months ago. I need to know how to recover my emails back into Outlook Express.

I'm trying to set up a new computer for a charity, just one problem they did not back up their email addresses and emails on outlook express from their last machine (which failed) so what do we do to restore everything? just wondered if anyone knew WHERE on the hard drive does outlook express store its emails and email addresses?
He goes into his INBOX and reads his emails. He does not delete the emails he has read and then he signs off. When he goes back into OE the read emails are now in his DELETED folder. I have checked the settings and cannot seem to find anything that he may have selected in error and cannot stop this from happening?

Then I began having error messages that "OE has encountered unknown problems & has to shut down" or it would just freeze up for no reason. Emails were coming in in duplicats. (2 of every email in the inbox) (*This problem is still happening)
They had me delete my account & start over several times. Then they forwarded me all my emails they had on their system. OVER 1,000 BEGAN COMING IN! NONE TO THE INBOX! (hidden file) We put a stop to it and began searching where these were being hidden. Since getting the new computer I have not been able to get Spell Check in my OE 6.0 I am told 6.0 does not have this. I had it before changing computers and I used 6.0 then also.
Is there any way of recovering OE 6 mail account info from a crashed hard disk?
I have already managed to recover emails and address book using recovery software but not sure where to look for account info.
I got a message from Outlook asking permission to compress my e-mail file folders. It's done this before and I've always let it with no problem.I fired up my computer yesterday and discovered that all my e-mail folders, all received and sent messages have disappeared.I thought my wife may have accidentally erased the files so I checked the Recycle Bin. There were several .bak files with the same names of the file folders.I figured hit the restore button and the files would be restored.

They were all in my returned mail folder. When I tried to forward that back to web mail it just deleted everything out of my outlook express program and it is in neither place now. I did not format, rather I installed over the current and problematic install. I've done this a number of times in the past with very few problems. Tonight was not one of these times however.For some reason (and this has not happened in the past) when I went to open up Outlook I could not find the program at all. I cannot in fact find any Office programs when I had the full suite installed.When doing this in the past, all my desktop icons remained in tact as did my startup menu. Now, this time, the only thing missing is Office.
