I was playing a game and I rebooted my computer. When i went to start it it went to the a blank blue screen before the account screen in the beginning of XP. I know i can restore to new but i will have lost so much information that it would take about 3 months to retain it all back. It says it can not find operating system. I need help in a serious way. all advice and solutions are requested.
I've only had this problem for a while, i have windows xp and this hasen't happened to be before until yesterday. whenever i start up one of my big games(ie a more newer more demanding games) the screen pops up and my computer resets, i dont know what i could of don't to cause this nor what exactly whats going on the screen has a error that says IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL at first i thought my graphics drivers were buggered. so i went off and downloaded newer ones and put them on, but it didn't seem to do much.
Every time i run a PC game my computer goes to the blue screen. It also does the EXACT same thing every once in awhile for java applets or large flash animations. It doesnt give any file name on the blue screen or any description of what is causing this. I dont know if there is some information you can get from those numbers.
My son was playing a game on the web and his computer crashed. He now get a blue screen but can get to the MS-DOS prompt. He had updated his antivirus just before playing.
I recently designed and built a top of the line comp for my dad. So all hardware is brand new. When i play the online game Shattered Galaxy I recieve the blue screen which the computer either freezes or restarts. Also fire fox just recieved a random error when i was posting this but that is another story. I have updated the video drivers. I took a picture of the blue screen so i will post exactlty what it said hoping that it will help.
Computer reboots always at the same point in a game (start of Creature phase in Spore) when its starting/trying to process an introdutory movie/animation.It happened one time, I tried again, it rebooted my computer again, so I tried to by pass the problem by starting a new game, using someone elses save game and it happened again. So I searched for information and discovered how to turn off Restart so I could get a Blue Screen with a BCCode.I got the Blue Screen and learned how to view the error log on windowns going to Control Panel> Administration Tools> Event Viewer> System. There I found the multiple occurences of the same error when the computer restarts.
I insert either a game CD or DVD into my DVD-RW drive, I get a Blue Screen of Death. I have turned off Auto Insert Notification on my DVD drive, but this did not fix the problem. However, if I insert a music CD into the DVD drive, everything goes along just fine without any Blue Screen. If I start up my computer with a game CD or DVD already in the drive, I do not get a blue screen when I open up the game or DVD from the drive within My Computer. I only get the Blue Screen of Death after I open the DVD drive, insert the game CD or DVD, and the drive closes. The STOP error code in the Blue Screen of Death only gives me the line error.
I've got a bunch of problems with my windows XP home right now:To start, the start bar (where it should be blue and bubbly) is the same as windows classic, which is odd.My computer crashed twice on friday (blue screen). My computer keeps telling me that I'm not connected to the internet even though I am (I use wireless cable internet). In the start menu, where it says "all programs" with the arrow, that wont show me all my programs.
I was recently trying to install Medieval Total War II onto my computer. I've had it installed before in the past, and it worked fine on my computer. I wanted to play it again, so when I went to install it it gave me the blue screen. It said:Quote: A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREAIt then said something about disabling BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing, etc. Then it had what I'm guessing is the error code:***STOP: 0x00000050 (0x46263D6, 0x00000000, 0x804ED967, 0x00000001)
I am new to this board hope i am doing this right. I have a Dell demision desktop which was only a little over a yr old. It was working fine then all of a sudden nothing it was frozen on blue screen i tried to restart then reboot and i tired to restore but nothing would work. I worked on it for 4 days straight until i got so mad i went to best buy and got a new computer but now i would like to use old one for kids to play on but i tried to reinstall from the disk that came with computer which it says that it did. I lost all my info on computer but i thought ok now i can get it going but it is so slow. I have not got it networked to connect to internet but i hate to spend money on stuff to do it if i cant figure out what is making it so slow.
I decided to make the move and give SP3 a try,I shouldn't have bothered! All went well, and the system rebooted, well into the boot sequence I was greeted by a blue screen:STOP: C0000139 {Entry Point Not Found}The procedure entry point GdiGetBitmapBitSize could not be located in the dynamic link library GDI32.dll. Naturally, I fired up Acronis True Image and restored this morning's image, but I figure at some point they'll try to push this update down on patch Tuesday
When i turn on,first Windows screen appears, then a blue screen blinks, then hp screen, then a blank page with cursor on the top left, then a screen with the message"we apologise for the inconvinience but Windows did not start successfully.there was a hardware or software problem.I tried to run it in Safe mode, Windows normally, last known configuration but no luck......Then someone suggested to Get into the Recovery Console by making a Recovery CD with ISO image but the machine is not responding to any of it.Is it with CD/DVD ROM drive or any major hardware problem???...I ran a self hard drive test and it seemed fine
I've been having this problem with my Dell Lattitude D505 Laptop where I put it on standby, and then about 10 seconds after taking it off standby, I get a blue error screen telling me the system crashed. It mentions on the screen something about BIOS memory. Looking through some other posts, I have seen mention of a correlation between this screen and BIOS. does anyone think that this BIOS memory thing is in fact the problem? How do I resolve anything that deals with this BIOS memory? The help section on my computer just defines what BIOS is, it doesn't state where I can find it on my comp.
my friend loaded ABIT drivers for his motherboards ethernet port . after loading the driver he reset the computer and it loads til windows then turns blue and resets. his keyboard will not work so he cant load safe mode what should he do?
i got on it, and it started loading the splash screen with windows xp on but then this blue screen error came on.
below is the error message.
stop: c0000218 {Registry FILE FAILURE} The registry cannot load the hive (file): SYSTEMROOTSYSTEM32CONFIGSOFTWARE or its log or alternative. it is corrupt, absent, or not writable.
About 2-3 weeks ago my computer started playing up, i switched it on and it came up with disk boot failure, so i restarted the computer and it started up fine.. a few days later i got a blue screen message, didn't have enough time to read it, ever since the computer starts up to disk boot failure and i restart and it works, i do that every day to use it. Today however i restarted and it was freezing, wouldn't let me into BIOS setup, or anything, but after a few restarts it worked again.. about 10minutes ago the computer came up with a blue screen as i left the room, i didn't have enough time to see all of it but i got, 0x000000f4 (0x00000003 couldnt get the rest, and something about physical memory dump. i had to restart again about 3 or 4 times before it worked, and when i got through the computer froze.
I tried to load windows xp in my pc but during installation (of course many times i tried to install) blue screen saying your computer is having problem like that. I checked the memory with diagnostic tool it said no error and also motherboard no error setupdd.sys at one time and another time stop: 0x000008e blue screen errors came during setup end Moreover i pressed skip for some files beining with letter w during setup in dos mode, but successfully installed. will it give any error after installation finishes?
Ok this error will only pop up only about 3/4 of the time I attempt to go into Windows. Right after the windows boot screen finishes I'll get a blue screen of death for windows xp, and it says a bunch of numbers and stuff then at the bottom there is a file called tbcwdm.sys. This just started happening in windows, and I can't write the code down because the screen will dissapear in a matter of seconds and reboot the computer.
I did not add any new memory to my systeme. however, I did remove my current memory to access the inside of my laptop. The fan wire had come loose so I reconnected. I fixed that problem only to find out the problem with the registry. I have chose the load last known configuration that worked correctly but it still gives me the little blue pop up screen with the error, then the restart.
I tried to use my windows xp os disk to try and repair it but it wont read the disc before the blue screen comes back up. I'm thinking of buying a Laptop To IDE Hard Drive Adapter. So, I could at least format my hard drive. I'm not sure if this would be a good idea. I went to the microsoft webpage that deals with this issue but I can not seem to find one to fix my problem.
I had an ELECTRIC POWER FAILURE during the start of Windows 2000 Professional this morning. After it, when I try to restart my computer, it begins to load Windows, but I receive the famous blue screen. The error code is: STOP: 0x0000007B (0x8243D030, 0xC0000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE I tried with F8 (last valid configuration, etc of the list), but all give the same blue screen. My repair floppy disk is from september 2007. After it, I installed a second HD for files backup and needed to put drivers for Windows recognize the bigger HD size. All worked fine until the power failure this morning. Antivirus and scan are up to date. Since I installed the driver for the bigger size HD, I cannot more boot through the floppy disk, because it not recognizes the HD. Is there anything I can do to not reinstall Windows?
My computer is not booting up. A while back while using my computer a blue screen popped up saying that windows encountered an error and that it would shut down to prevent damage. When that happened I simply restarted my computer and everything was fine. This happened one or two times later and everything was fine. Today it happened again and when I went to restart it it the blue screen popped up immediately after that. On the third time I went to restart it the computer just said boot failure and did nothing. Every time I try to restart it does the same thing. It will let me press f2 for the start up settings but when I press f8 for safe mode it does nothing.
Error message(blue screen of death): "STOP: c0000218{registry file failure} the registry cannot load the hive(file): systemrootsystem32configsoftware or its log or alternate it is corrupt, absent, or not writable
beginning dump of physical memory physical memory dump complete. contact your system administator or technical support group for further assistance." I was told that windows needed to be rebooted. So I moved my hard drive to another comp and transfered all my memory onto an external hard drive so I could reboot windows. I found an xp cd and tried to reboot from ide cd-rom and it wouldnt work. i ran a diagnostics on my ide and this error came up "primary ide: 0 st380011a- fail code 7"
I'm gettting a blue screen when i try to start my laptop with Windows XP media. It's saying the registry cannot load the hive (file): /SystemRootSystem32ConfigSECURITY or its log or alternate. It is corrupt, absent, or not writable. I'm guessing I need the windows xp media reinstallation disk, but I can't seem to find it.
when my PC boots it up it goes to a black screen giving options such as safe mode etc. All of these options end up with the computer going to a bluescreen and the following message: STOP: c0000218 (Registry File Failure) The registry cannot load the hive (file): SystemRootSystem32ConfigSOFTWARE It is corrupt, absent, or not writable. Beginning dump of physical memory Physical memory dump complete. have no disks at all with laptop. And my knowldge goes as far as being able to use the internet.
I have a windows 2000 server crash. Assumed I had a power failure this weekend. The monitor also died. I replaced monitor. I hear the computer start up. Power to system, but no visuals.I do have a boot disk made on 3.5 floppy disk. What are some simple tips or things to do before I begin to restore the system.I have checked all power cords.Computer is AMD with raid system unsure of rest.
Physical memory dump on my xp sp2 system running 768 megs sd ram. Athlon xp1200 processor. This problem is happening more and more often. I have run avast, adaware, spybot, all come up clean.Sometimes pc is unable to recover and will keep coming back to screen for selecting safe mode etc.Tried to run registry cleaner I saw on your home page. But once downloaded and tried to run this, PC crashed again. Even now I am usure how long I will get on this site before something goes down.
I'm in the process of repair/recovery of my machine (Dell Inspiron 8500 with Windows XP Home, Service Pack 2). I'm following exactly the instructions in:
http://attachments.techguy.org/attac...chmentid=62075, but a problem has developed. The "software" file (which is the file that the original blue screen error message says is "corrupt, absent or not writable") will not copy to the new tmp directory to create the backup. My understanding from the article is that this backup file (software.bak) will later be used to restore correct settings for various software applications. Since I can't copy it, it appears that I am screwed,
friend whose computer has crashed the screen had frozen. He could do nothing except reboot it using the power button but on rebooting, there was a 'no signal' message on a black screen. We have checked the monitor connections (the monitor works when connected to his second computer) and even replaced the video card but of course this made no difference (no signal) We've taken out the HD and installed it on his second system. Does this mean that the most likely cause now is the motherboard/bios or is there something wrong in our approach/deductions

Sometimes when i play a game or wake the computer up from sleep mode, the computer screen goes to come back on and instead, the screen goes black, with monitor power light flickering and a loud piercing sound through my speakers. One of the times it happened, the ATI VPU Recovery came up and asked me to submit the crash report through email, but that only came up once, the other times, there has been no warning, no recovery, no errors, just blank.
