View 1 Replies View RelatedI try to open Internet Explorer I get the following message: iexplore.exe- entry point not found The procedure entry point SHRegGetValueW could not be located in the dynamic link library SHLWAPI.dll.
This message occurred after I tried to repair Windows. I have tried uninstalling IE and reinstalling it. It will not reinstall on my computer because it says I don't have Sp2.
I try to logon to Chase.com, I get the following: internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Error Signature: appname: iexplore.exe, modver: 5.1.2600.3119, appver: 7.0.600.16473, offset: 00012a5b, modname: kernel32.dll. I am running windows xp, sp2 and ie 7.0. This only happens to one website.
View 4 Replies View RelatedLately I'm getting the "I.E. has encountered a problem and needs to close" message so of course I lose what I had open and have to start over. It's not doing it constantly or consistant on the same websites but it is at least a few to several times a day now. It seems to do it most often when leaving a site and trying to go back to whatever preceeded it especially if I click the back button more than once(unnecessary habit I know).
Here is the info shown for the problem:
APPname:iexplorer.exe Appver 6.0.2900.2180 Modname ntdll.dll
Modver:5.1.2600.2180 offset:0003426d
The offset # is the only one that is different each time it comes up.
* I've ran the Norton system scan a few times( just their regular version, not their registry cleaner)
* ran CW Schredder
* ran Ad Aware
* Keep Spyware Blaster up to date
* and tried CCcleaner
None of which made any difference.
when i load internet explorer i get an error message saying internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. i have windows xp.

View 7 Replies View RelatedRecently, I have come across a problem in the internet Explorer of my system. After I start Internet Explorer it does not cause any problem but when I close even one Internet Explorer window it asks me if I should send the error report. Even if I say, Send Report or Don't Send,it just closes down all my Internet Explorer opened windows.

View 11 Replies View Relatedjust installed a new hard drive in my computer and now, every time I open any window at all, if I click "X" to close it out, an internet explorer page opens up that is blank. When I close that, I get a Windows Explorer error message that says "Windows Explorer needs to close". I'm thinking maybe there is a problem in the registry but don't know exactly how to go about fixing it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two computers connected through a home network. One of the computers is very new and the other, two years old.Both run XP-SP2. I use one mouse for both computers - connected through a 2 port KVM switch. On the older machine, the mouse hangs after I close Internet Explorer. After a delay of a minute or so, it does come back most often. This does not ahppen on the new machine. Mouse does not seem to hang after I close other programs..(tested a few, but cant swear by it). This gets very annoying when I am in a rush.

View 7 Replies View RelatedEvery so often, an error message pops up saying "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." All my folders open then freeze and i have to close through the windows task manager.This happens almost immediately when i access my harddrive F from a shortcut on the desktop. It doesn't happen as fast when accessing other folders on the desktop or folders through shortcuts on the desktop, but within time errors all the same. I've also noticed a program opens in the windows task manager whenever this happens.The program is drwtsn32.exe.

View 5 Replies View RelatedFor a good while my HDD has been making really unhappy noises when cold booting. It sounds fine the rest of the time, including restarts and even reboots from off if the PC hasn't been switched off very long. Yet no major problems flagged in HDDLife or Event Manager. Then a couple of months ago my PC fell rather uniquely ill. Not only was there increased thrashing in explorer.exe, but direct-accessing drives and folders (either double-clicking or choosing the FIRST option in the right-click menu, regardless of what it was) caused an instant CTD as explorer crashed with an odd error message.
